They aren't a Christian rock band, they're a rock band who's members happen to be christian. They don't preach Christianity in their songs and have made a point of saying that they aren't a Christian band. They are however FUCKING AWESOME!!

So, so many religious people are between chill and fucking awesome. Wish more people would take notice.
A few songs sound like conversations with a higher power (like "fix me") but they never mention a specific higher power. Religiousness in music done right.

You're right. Paramore started of with a pop-punk emo sound and switched towards a more pop-rockish sound in the last few years.
Icon for Hire is definitely on the fine line separating metal and lighter genres like rock and punk... if they aren't metal to begin with.
Light or heavy, neither is bad or good, it's all up to preferences. But yeah, Paramore is way less heavy than than Icon for Hire. Even in their old albums like Riot! and All we Know is Falling are lighter than IFH.
I agree, even when Paramore has used unclean vocals in the past, the sound was not as heavy as IFH. But I'm just over seeing Paramore brought up on videos from bands that have a woman lead.
Ben Enderby I feel like the lyrics are similar to Paramore's older music, but their styles have major differences.

I just saw them live tonight and it was the best concert that I have honestly ever been to. Their first album was a little managed and controlled and with this new album they had all the freedom they wanted. It. Is. Going. To. Be. Sick.
saw them yesterday. my car broke down twice (the second time the engine blew). had to run 3 miles, then take a cab the rest of the way.
it was a 2.5 hour car ride WITHOUT breaking down. (so glad i left early). this band is amazing, and im so glad i heard about them a year or so ago. even though im out of a car now, im glad i saw them. i had SUCH an amazing time.
this song is so good, and it sounds even BETTER live.

My friend took me to see them. I had no idea who they were at the time but I'm glad I went along. They are so much better live! If you can, keep track of their tours. Maybe you can see them the next time around. Definitely worth the money.
