    I am vegan and I eat cooked food. I personally believe eating cooked vegan food in moderation and balance is fine.

    I love your thoughts on eating cooked/heat processed food. During this premiere, in the chat, someone asked if you used SPF. You said, "No".     This study is about ultraprocessed addiction, not cooked food addiction. It says nothing about whether a food becomes addictive when you cook it, and doesn't even define addiction very well. The authors actually seem to be more interested in race and socioeconomics than nutrition, and the study really doesn't provide anything that isn't common knowledge.
    They also suggest there is no option to completely abstain from food intake, and that's not true. The first few days of a water fast are the best time to measure addictions of every kind, so that would be a much more interesting study. I think Alan Goldhamer could do this easily, but I've done dozens of fasts so already know there are measureable withdrawal symptoms from plain steamed veggies. It's much easier to go fully raw for at least a couple days prior.

      The whole point of this episode, in my view is to share NOT all cooked food is created equal. I agree that highly processed cooked food from heating, adding salt, sugar, oil is ADDICTIVE according to science. I do not agree that steamed leafy greens are "addictive" as some raw foodists may claim.

    It's great too. Mixed food but real not processed at the fastfood restaurants. Juice sprout make your own fermented foods

    John do you drink tea or tinctures? There is alot of healthy compounds in foods that can only be extracted in these methods.

    Carbs on carbs on carbs, high carb low fat diet, as much baked potato’s, endless fruit, steamed rice, tomato based pastas, corn cobs with baby rays BBQ sauce, it is a good back up plan to have cooked food if your looking to build fitness! Carbs FTW!! 💪💪💪

    Cook food especially fried is addictive

      Agreed. Fried food is addictive - its the fat plus the sugar and salt and browning.

    Raw foods are delicious and they are also cooked by the Sun😅 addiction is preference weather you like cook stuff or raw stuff but I seriously think that all fast food is subconsciously addictive because of the chemicals😢

    Isn't the need for something an addiction? Or am I off. If it's a depenance than it's the same thing no?
    So all food is an addiction 😂 we need it 🤣.abuse is probably the better word

      Addiction = mental and emotional, you crave the feeling/high that the substance or food gives you
      Dependence = you don't necesarily crave the feeling/high but your body is giving you withdrawal symptoms when you stop introducing the substance or food.
      You can have one of those or both.
