Back pain is not a disease but a natural phenomenon that occurs when the muscles surrounding back area is not trained enough to withstand the gravitational force from one’s own weight. The back pain could be alleviated by doing chin-up bars, and doing sit-ups on sit-up exercise equipment while positioning so that lower body holds on to the equipment and upper body is near the ground. A fundamental solution to eliminate back pain is weightlifting (squats) as well as mountain climbing so that you train muscles around your waist. In early May 2017, my anterior spine was displaced by 13 mm, 87% of spinal disc between 4th and 5th lumbar spine was ruptured, and 11th thoracic spine was fractured by 30%. Yet, the lumbar spine was not fractured. In order to prove the correlation between back pain and exercise, I have decided to induce pain in my back with weightlifting and overcome my back pain through exercise. From May 12th to May 14th, 2017, I overdid the exercise including weightlifting (squats), and suffered 20% compression fracture of the lumbar vertebrae. As a result, I experienced pain so severe that it felt like my waist was being cut off with a razor blade. Every morning for two months, I did exercises such as sit-ups and leg-raise, enduring the pain. After exercising in such a pain, I finally was able to get up on my feet, and, on July 15, I could get up without a preliminary exercise. It gave me confidence that I could get over back pains with the help of exercise. On July 24, I did 5 hours of walking in the Odae Mountain. On July 29, I went to the hospital, and was told that lumbar vertebrae (n=2) showed signs of 20% compression fracture. Since then, I've enjoyed climbing the Daecheong peak, the highest peak of the Seorak Mountain. The reason that I've overcome the situation after I caused myself pain in the lumbar spine was to demonstrate that back pain is no longer an object of fear. I would not have done this dangerous experiment if there had been anyone capable of breaking his or her own waist and still climbing the Daecheong peak of the Seorak Mountain. I did this experiment because nobody else in the world has ever done that - breaking his or her own back to figure out the exact cause of back pain. Anyone can overcome back pain by knowing the cause of back pain and getting rid of the cause through appropriate exercises.
