    Thank you for this! Was trying the other tutorials where you do 3d projections but was running into numerous problems - this was quick and to the point! :)

    Thank you for making this amazing video! Is there any other way rather than using mask which is extremely bothersome? (Probably No?)

    nice tutorial thank you. quick question, and I understand there is many different ways to achieve the same results but why crop that window in PS please? why didn't you just freeze frame and mask right inside AE?

    Hey chinfat! Great tutorial, thx! However I was thinking why not using the cam tracking itself for the car-door and the big crate as well..?! Can't these (I mean the masked bits of these) just be positioned upon themselves - on a top layer - using the tracking points and the 3D space just the way it's done with the windows? Why do the messy rotoscoping?!

    • @chinfat
      @chinfat  9 лет назад

      SlowTimeProduction It does work it some instances, but give it a try and you'll find that the item that you are attempting to mask will change size and shape at a different rate than the software can predict and then you'll end up doing some tedious rotoscoping anyway. I've used that method before and there are some instances that it works wonderfully. If there's something I'm missing here, please let me know. I'm all about finding quicker, easier ways.

      A great tip is - save save save! the system i have now was just under $3,500 and its a custom build - do NOT EVER EVER EVER buy a computer that is already built! you will regret it! I got everything off of Amazon (with Prime with free 2 day shipping) some stuff i got $100 or more off because the box had a scratch in it and so on. i got everything at once but i could have saved more if i would have just watched prices over a few months on the stuff that i really wanted. refurbished and used isn't bad! some people are too good for it - nothing i got was damaged other than the boxes. if you need help building a rig, there are a ton of forums and videos about the latest and greatest

      I've always built my own computer. It's definitely the way to go.

    When I click analyze, it shows me error: "unable to obtain dynamiclink server". Do anyone know the fix or what is this causing?

    • @chinfat
      @chinfat  8 лет назад

      +Kadilnastrop_CZ Not sure. I searched that issue. On the Adobe forums, it looks like the only thing that worked was to uninstall all the Adobe suite via the Adobe's CC Cleaner tool. Then reinstall.

      +Triton Force Also in order for me to see the colorful tracking points I need to check the box that says "Render Track points"

    • @chinfat
      @chinfat  8 лет назад

      +Triton Force Make sure the layer is selected in the timeline, then make sure the 3D camera effect is selected in the effect control panel. You should see the tracking markers on the screen. If you do not see them, increase the tracking marker size until they become visible. If that does not help, you're welcome to send me the clip via Google Drive or DropBox and I can do a quick demo on it.

      @chinfat  9 лет назад

      +simo drai Select the Solid Layer in in Composition. With it selected, grab the image you need to replace it with, hold down option and drop the image onto the Solid Layer. It will replace it.

    I can't replace image to solid

    • @chinfat
      @chinfat  6 лет назад

      It's a bit annoying, but grab the clip first and start to move it, then hold down ALT or OPT, then hover over the solid (still holding down ALT or OPT) then let go of the mouse click.

      tried to follow that advice a dozen of times (selecting track solid prior to dragging an image, then dragging an image while holding option on Mac) - none worked, it just creates a new layer with an image and track solid stays the same. i'm using After Effects CC 2018.

    • @chinfat
      @chinfat  6 лет назад

      The layer has to be selected first as well.
