    I have an 09 goldwing and an 05 nomad 1600. I'm parting with the Nomad. She likes both, and so do I, but looking and sounding cool can't compete with comfort and being able to hear the stereo clearly. Especially on long rides. I've had about 10 bikes my whole life, and i swear the goldwing is the finest thing on 2 wheels.

    My Wing is an 08. My Harley is an 02. Both paid for. I have no desire to pay $25k plus, to ride something new when both my bikes are still quite capable for anything I want to do on a bike.

      @@JSProjectWild At one point, I had two bikes, one for road trips, and one for riding around town/goofing off with my friends locally. It's great, if one can afford to do it. I can't, any more, and my current bike, an 07 XVS650 is mine simply because she is reliable, she'll start every time I go out to start her, which was an upgrade from my 96 VT 1100 Shadow, which finally got to feeling her age, after sitting for several years before I got her.

    You’re comparing apples to oranges. First of all, you made a good point when you started the video that you’ve got a newer generation BMW against an older generation Goldwing. The new gold wings have a lot more power and they handle a lot better and they’re lighter weight you raise that BMW against a brand new Goldwing or a third generation Goldwing 2018 and up and you will have a heckuva time deciding which one is better personally I wouldn’t on the BMW just for maintenance costs that alone is Expensive. The other thing is you’re talking about speeding horsepower. They’re two different bikes Goldwing has made the cruise and tour in comfort not race down the highway so if you want to race, get the Beamer if you want to ride comfortably keep the Goldwing.

    • @JSProjectWild
      @JSProjectWild  Год назад +6

      First, thanks for watching and commenting Ed! "Apples to oranges"? It's not like I compared a touring motorcycle to a dirt bike, LOL. Both bikes fall into the "touring" category, yes, I researched it. New '23 Wing has a lot more power than my 2005? The '23 Wing has only 7 more HP and 2 more ft. lbs. torque and weighs only 53 lbs. less than my '05 so what's my motivation to pay FIVE times the money I have in my '05--- come on Honda, after 18 years you can do better! "Speeding horsepower"? I like rapid acceleration and I think horsepower and torque just might have something to do with that.

      Not true.
      I have an 04 Wing With 110k. I have an 18 wing Tour 6 speed. Ill take my 04 ANY Day over my 18 GW. My 04 has more power, handles 500% better than the 18. The 04 is just a better bike. And do not believe Honda's claims on weight. My 04 is lighter than my 18.

    • @CG-jr1ym
      @CG-jr1ym 7 месяцев назад +2

      To be fair I should say it's the 2012 through 2017 that were heaver, They were over 100 lbs. heaver than my 04. Don't get me wrong, The 2018 is a great bike. It's just not as goog as the 2004 GW In fact, they should not call the 2018 a GW, it is actually more of an ST1800. When i think of it as an ST1800, I like it better!

    I owned a K1600 GTL for about six months. I bought it because the six cylinder sounded like a two wheeled exotic car. I put a few hundred miles on it and sold it because I found the riding posture uncomfortable and the radio useless and I hated the scroll wheel. I took about a $6,000 loss to sell it but didn’t regret it. I ended up liking the engine but nothing else about it.

    I noticed that you compared your older 2005 Goldwing to a newer BMW and a newer FJR in a previous video. That should tell you the quality of Honda Goldwings. Sell both and get a newer Goldwing (2012 - 2017). The newer Goldwings (18+) are really nice, but I will never be in that category, or need to be in my opinion. The buttons and wheel issue is a mute issue for me. Too many distractions with both, so I don't use either. And now with bluetooth in my helmet, I've got all I need.

BMW has several features I did not Like, The seat after weared under the sun you will repent, the no backlights on the buttons, the assembly between the tank and fearing no go for the BMW "quality and overpricing" On the GW deffinitely the only think I would like is to se those 1800 to dvelop better just a little extra and a color screen as a standard and upgrade to old models .... out of it GW wins!

While on the WB there are 7 stations to choose from, to step through those, to find the strongest one in your area, rock the wonder wheel side to side. K bikes are great till you need to replace the ball joints in the wheel carrier assembly (front forks) at approx $390 CDN each + labor... or any other part for that matter. Ask me how I know 😆. My next ride will be a GoldWing

      So, I've researched DAB and lots of folks are complaining that their newer BMW GTL's have terrible reception, way worse than FM on those bikes. You might want to check out the GTL forums.

      @@James.984haid I found this after doing a search----"Why is there no DAB radio service in the US? Because we already have a digital broadcast standard for FM and AM radio here in the United States. It's called In-Band On-Channel (iBOC), developed by iBiquity in the late 1990s, and rolled out in 2003 to radio stations choosing to upgrade to this technology."
