    So nice to see them dance together. They are magnificent and without the makeup, hair dos and costumes dancing just looks more relaxed, real and less pretentious. I know its part of the game but they've just shown here that its the dancing that needs to be beautiful. All the other stuff is only there to enhance not take over.

    They dance beautifully together (but she should remain graceful even when they are finished dancing, even if they are just giving a course).

      @joetesta3352 5 лет назад +3

      Moonrise 361. I kind of only see that she was happy and relaxed as I think it should be when you have a room full of starry eyed dancers already in awe and some even intimidated by your very presence. If she had put the grace on too much she may well have come across too "hey look its all about me". So some times it a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't. If that's the biggest thumbs down here its still a 10 out of ten. Yes?

      @joeTesta- I see what you mean, but really, I was not suggesting anything super fancy, just acting normally graceful after having finished dancing. I like her dancing but I don't know, of all the demos I have seen with experienced dancers, they always remain graceful after. I am surprised in a way because she is very experienced. But grace and charm was never so much her strong thing. She dances beautifully but at the same time, she is also kind of stiff in some ways, not very expressive and or super graceful. Just an observation. But I still like her.

      Moonrise 361. Your observation is quite valid. When it comes to those attributes you mention, no, she is no Karen Hilton or a Katusha Demidova type but yes a beautiful dancer all the same. I modelled my own dancing on Mirko and William Pino who along with a few others (interestingly almost all Italian) namely, Massimo Giorgianni, Luca Berrechi. Sciavo Augusto redefined in the last 2 decades how the ballroom style is now danced. My coaches always said in ballroom it is a really good man who wins competitions and a really good lady in Latin. I believe that to be absolutely true and looking back at history that's a proven fact time after time. if we take all the world champions I don't think we'd find an exception. This is going to sound really chauvinistic and its not meant to be, but I guess as a male dancer I largely focus on the man in the ballroom style. The ladies are just beauty on legs and I adore them for that. By the way I like your comments. They are constructive, informed, knowledgeable and usually on point. Thanks for your reply.

      @@joetesta3352 Apart from Mirko changed partners to a lady with more "flair" and dropped to second... Mirko and Alessia worked, because Mirko has so much flair and shaping, Alessia was the rock that kept him connected. At the time they were dancing together, they had much more shape than any other couple in the final. Also, they were beating Arunas and Katusha when they retired. I can think of loads of examples of top level couples in ballroom where the lady has improved the man's dancing.

      Tim Wendland. Go back through history of every world champion of the past 50 years and you'll find that almost without exception all had a very good lady but they also all had brilliant male partners. For instance, John wood, Marcus Hilton, Luca Barrechi, Augusto Sciavo, Bobby Irvine, Massimo Giorgianni, Andrew Sinkinson, Mirko Gozzoli, Arunas Bizukas, Christopher Hawkins, Just to name some that come directly to mind. There have been some brilliant females that never became world champion because the male partners weren't quite good enough to match it with these phenomenal men. The reason Mirko I believe didn't win the world title with Edita was because they were a new partnership and Edita had next to no professional experience at that time. By the time they partnered up Arunas and katusha had taken the crown and had gained the political upper hand. Edita also had a tarnished amateur career because of the drug ban that was imposed on her. Some may have forgotten. That may have perhaps also played a role. My point remains that history shows, that to win a world ballroom style title an exceptional male partner is of paramount importance if not essential. This is what I have formed my views on. but its good to here your perspective.
