It’s not the just drinking. It’s his character and how he likes to control. That type of control usually leads to life threatening circumstances.

@ 31:53 that’s why I focus on dividend investing where I fall in love with consistent monthly income and getting more “shares” which frees me from moving the goal post with cash and focusing on a more moderate metric. Because truly as humans we’ll always want more! I found my pain point was consistent income effortlessly vs more money

I don’t think she realizes that the drinking is not the problem.
It is indeed A problem. A BIG problem if that’s HIS problem. Not everyone who drinks has a problem. But if it has become a problem for him, it is indeed a BIG problem.
However…. This is not THE problem. His toxicity, control, and naturally abusive nature is in fact painfully obvious and is the BIG PROBLEM. THAT is THE problem. The alcohol is but a small, yet sizable portion.
There are quite a few people who have drinking issues and don’t get controlling while they drink. The problem is that he is very toxic and controlling. She believes that she can help him. And she probably can in someway, shape, or form. However, if she is not a professional, who helps people with that, she should leave him in the direction of a professional and support him from the outside.
We should not put ourselves in situations just because. Our lives are worth more than that. Many times we think that we can save people. However, we are supposed to plant a seed, someone else will water it, and God will make it grow.
Saving people is not our responsibility. Leading people to salvation, as in the direction of salvation is our responsibility. Salvation itself- That is God’s responsibility. It is our responsibility to be good leaders and good support and to believe in people.
We can be their hope and still not not be their person.

I can tell she’s young, impressionable and not confident in who she is as a woman yet. Shes allowing him to control her and the sad part is she doesn’t see it as such. It’s the beginning of major abuse issues. Be it mentally, emotionally and/or physically. He’s also a liar and if he’s capable of that he’s capable of anything. We can’t tell her what to do she’ll have to make that decision on her own. Hopefully it won’t be too late. God bless her and open her eyes to truth!

He made her unfollow you (guys only ) because he was insecure and intimidated by your success had nothing to do with her tbh he just used her as the excuse thank you both for ensuring her safety
Your goal may not have been to slander or embarrass, but you most certainly have created a narrative, that I’m not sure is completely fair.
The man came on the show to answer questions you had, and left being labelled essentially a violent abuser who’s controlling his partner in a nefarious way.
Now I definitely think his reasoning was questionable when you asked him why he told her not to follow, but that may be because like many people, we don’t always know how to articulate thoroughly our reasoning for something, particularly when put on the spot.
At the point that Donnie started to feel uncomfortable it turned into assumptions based on her personal experiences rather than an objective take on what was happening.
I too can relate to Donnie’s experiences personally but there wasn’t enough if we just look at the at face value of the conversation, to infer what was being inferred which is a serious accusation. I didn’t like him, his personality came across as arrogant but it still wasn’t enough to make the definitive conclusion that you came to… you guys definitely guided the narrative thereafter.
I think that’s why when you asked someone to try and argue in his favour no one chimed in, because at that point everyone in the studio was aware of how upset Donnie was and wouldn’t have said anything even if they wanted to .
I say that to say I do think it’s important to highlight the responsibility you guys have on this platform not to allow your personal feelings to dictate someone’s character without sufficient evidence and then act as if it’s fact. That’s a dangerous line to tread.
The good thing that came from this, was that these conversations do need to be had and I’m glad people were able to feel confident enough to reach out for help, but I don’t agree with making him almost like the poster child for domestic violence, based off one conversation.
This! I was definitely like "this man is about to lose EVERYTHING" and he never even hit her". They have a mass amount of influence and I bet whatever deal he was working on is no longer a thing. I'd love to see an episode on the impact of influence.
