Hello 😊 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS! Truly delighted for you. You don't achieve an A* without a tremendous amount of work, so hat's off to you! I'm so glad that the channel was able to help you along the way. 😊 If possible I'd like to ask you a few more questions about your A* - would you mind dropping me an email to info@bearitinmind.org?

Where does free will fit into the whole nature vs nurture debate? According to free will believers, nature vs nurture is a meaningless debate since you can just materialize whatever you want in life through "positive thinking", "taking risks", and "working hard".

For the purposes of the video series on the issues and debates in psychology, free will & determinism are treated as a separate debate. However, to answer your question 'nature' would be an example of biological determinism and 'nurture' could be an example of environmental determinism.

I don't understand evaluation when it comes to issues & debates. Am I evaluating the debate as a whole or am I finding evaluation which supports each side of the debate?

Good question - working on a resource that will hopefully be out in a few weeks that deals with this, but in short the essay questions in the exam are worded in an exam that ask you to "Discuss [insert debate e.g. nature -nurture debate]". So your AO3 marks come from having a discussion - this can mean evidence that supports or challenges that view, but it can also mean the value/usefulness of that debate, or the negative implications of that debate etc. Hope that helps a little.
