I just bought this quad and am having the same issue and i think i just need to clean the carb. I think it needs a new starter also. Sounds kinda janky.
If you stay tuned until the end of the video you can see what my issue was. I read online a lot of people had the same issue and it ended up being the spark plug wire. The connection to the spark plug cap/boot was really bad, it had very little wires showing to make a good connection. We took the boot off and cut the rubber coating off the wire a little to expose more wire and but the boot back on and it’s worked fine ever since
How comfortable would it be for a 6 foot 1 rider to sprint around some trails?
@@robertwest4299 wouldn’t be bad at all! Im 5’10 and had plenty of room just smacked my knees on the bars sometimes when getting extremely bouncy but that’s it

It's a bone stock 250 raptor on bone stock jetting with nothing at all done to it. It was not running lean lmfao. The sputtering issue was due to it jumping spark from a old cheap ebay spark plug wire. Next time stay until the end of the video before commenting
@@WheelieWeasel My bad, sounded like you had a pipe on it. If you put a pipe on without re-jetting, you are running lean.

Should i trade my clean smooth 09 kx85 for a 2012 raptor 250 or for a blaster? I got the kx in a good trade but im more in to quads and i have both offers on the table
Honestly the raptor 250s are awesome and reliable but personally I’d try to trade it to a 400ex or a 350 raptor tbh. The 250s are a lil small and are easy to get used to the power

Not sure if you stayed until the end of the video but I already fixed the sputtering issue and I've ordered rear brakes so it's pretty much ready to go!
