I like the new features and improvements over the 207 still not into Alexa but the bar rocks as far as sound goes it gets loud enough to annoy the neighbors! that's a plus for me and movie night is just a blast and everyone that has seen my 209 loves the design and sound. Great review.

If there is anyone who is struggling to find Alexa connection in "Yamaha soundbar app", please change the language of your phone to english and set the region to United states. The Alexa connection option will pop up in the app after these changes.

What command to get Alexa to turn on the sound bar? My sound bar sometimes turns off while the tv is still on, and I have to physicially turn on the sound bar. Wondering if I can just ask Alexa to turn it on. I’ve tried but so far no luck.

Turns out Tidal is supported on the YAS-209 now. This wasn't mentioned in any of the RUclips nor written reviews I've checked.

While I don't use a sound bar at home, I have a surround sound system, I am looking for a sound bar for my camper. This looks interesting, but the subwoofer looks a little too tall. I have a somewhat short area under the wall cabinet that my TV mounts above. I may have to do without a subwoofer all together. But I definitely admire Yamaha stereo equipment.
I have surround sound speaker 7.1 I alway was curious of how sound bar System will sound I never had one before because I alway had the complete surround sound speaker

A bar would be a step down in sound quality. Why would a $300 bar be better? Im sure ur 3k came with a 10 in woofer I think this YAS Has a 6.5... I get u want smart receiver... but u probably miss the over all quality.

The Sony HT-Z9RF I'm not so enthusiastic about sound quality wise but it's very convenient just to connect Bluetooth, chromecast audio or turn on the TV and everything just works
Probably because in surround it plays center only meanwhile left and right are for effects. Music might switch over to playing all speakers at once. You can watch TV in music mode . All this is a guess since I don't have the unit. Something for you to check out though
Hey man, how is this compared to the Sony HT-X8500 or HT-G700? Personally, I've tested both Sonys at a Sony boutique, they're really room-filling but I get it when most written reviews (WhatHifi, TechHive) stated that these Sonys tend to lose the details during complex scene. They got specs (DTS:X, Dolby Atmos support) and sound big but at the expense of some details (not all tho). Too bad the YAS-209 is out of stock at Harvey Norman cause I would have completed my quest to demo all three budget soundbars last night LOL.
@@jairjuna1978 Bro, saya belum beli mana2 pun. Saya end up beli AV receiver 2nd hand dan plan utk setup real 5.1 setup. Tapi personally, saya suka YAS-209 tu. Banyak review bertulis kata Yamaha tu ada clarity dan balance. Saya tak suka boomy tanpa detail. Balance lebih bagus pada saya.
