We've owned the 9.1 for over a week and can officially say for $999 this is one of the best surround set ups for the money. Crisp sound, clean dialog, deep resonating bass and accurate spatial sound. We had purchased the Sonos Arc surround set originally and loved it however when I visited a friend and heard the JBL I decided to take the Sonos back and picked up the JBL. I can say that the Sonos set may have a slight edge in some areas but in our opinion no were close to Justify the extra $800.
How’s the sound quality of the rear detachable speakers? Are they noticeably loud enough when listening to music or will it get drowned out from the front bar and subwoofer? I’m very close to picking this up within the next coming days but just want to absolutely sure this will be the winner.

No soundbar in this world sounds better than a set of high quality home theater system. If you really care about audio quality, you have enough space, and you do not mind speaker wires & an av receiver, go with the Klipsch. Soundbars have gotten much better recently. They are so hot, mainly because of the simplicity and space saving that they provide. Most soundbars are good with movies, but they struggle with music. If you don't want to do wiring, or you do not have enough space for 5+ speakers, a subwoofer, and an av receiver, or that you move alot, you will not go wrong with any of these soundbars. The laws of physics always stand. Soundbars are small, so they can't move as much air as floorstanding speakers do. The true Dobly Atmos experience happens with down firing atmost ceiling speakers. These soundbars depend on sound reflection, so they can never sound as good as ceiling Atmos speakers.
Bee totally agree with you I’m leaning towards the Klipsch especially since they are powered and have arc built in like most sound bars so it should be as easy and possibly better sounding

Missing Yamaha's Sound Projector. Yamaha's marketing department always seemed to fail to differentiate the difference between sound bars and sound projectors. The projectors ability to "beam" each channel using reflective surfaces around the room is superior to sound bars vaguely hosing down the room with sound

Hello Audio advice sir I want to buy 5.1 home theater so I made 2 choice first is Bose smart soundbar 300 with subwoofer 500 and 2 is JBL 5.1 550watt. So please give me advice which is best sound system so I can feel cinematic feeling. I am waiting for your reply
There’s no way you’re doing this shoot-out accurately and not including the Nakamichi. Their sound and feature-set are causing problems for the more established brands here.
Flow I am ready for a newer model, but that’s my front runner above all these others. Maybe if the Sennheiser had subs it could compete. Without subs, I’ve heard those built-ins don’t go that deep.
Too expensive for this bad quality...same like the 500... Chose Sonos, Sennheiser, Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins... But Sonos is really the best...the Sonos Arc or Playbar is really enough.
Thanks for the review. Which sound bar is the best for a big room? I live in a loft and the main room is almost 5 meters high and has a surface of 65m2. With this height I'm not sure the upper tweeter will be able to reflect the sound against the roof. I have the same problem with the right side because the TV is almost in an angle of the room and the wall is too far. Many thanks
From the very beginning, the sundbar was warm in the middle part, after seven days of buying it, crackling sounds could be heard from the speakers from time to time. I have complained about Sundbar and am waiting for a reply. Generally the sony HT-ST 5000 is suitable for a 20 square meter room instead of a home theater, but my Panasonic SC-PT 860 home theater has been playing in a second room all the time for 13 years. What else can I write ... well, each of us knows that this is a mass show and we are a consumer society. I was a bit alienated from Sony !!!
If you need fuller sound with wider soundstage that mimics home theater system more precisely then go for samsung or nakamichi high end models. They give the most immersive experience in movies also to a degree to musics. If you are all about music then sonos.
Greetings! We listened to a lot of soundbars before we finally concluded which ones belonged on our list of best high-performance soundbars for 2020. These are ultimately the ones that made the cut. The Samsung HW-Q90R Harman/Kardon 7.1.4ch Soundbar did make it into our list. No plans to do the Q950t as the HW-Q90R beat that one in terms of high-performance audio. Hope that helps you out! If you have any questions about a specific bar in our comparison, come have a chat with us at audioadvice.com, so we can dive deeper with you.
Greetings friend! Here are a few key differences between those models: The Sony HT-5000 is 7.1.2 full Dolby Atmos. On the other hand, both the Sony HT-Z9F and g700 ar 3.1 systems with a dedicated center channel and a subwoofer, so these are good for dialogue. While both bars support Atmos, they both lack satellites or upward-firing speakers to present Atmos all around you. All objects will sound as if they're coming from in front of you on these bars unless you buy your own surrounds, rears, and Atmos speakers. Either of these would be good, but neither one is a complete 7.1.2 full Dolby Atmos solution like the Sony HT-5000. You can read a lot more about the Sony HT-5000 and the other Dolby Atmos bars in our full-written comparison here: www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/2020-best-soundbars/
If we check just the sound quality for music (big bass) and movies (clarity) and ignore other Features like music cast or option to add extra speakers, YAS 400 or sony HT G700 which one is good????? I will reach appreciate tour input on this. Thanks
Would you recommend the JBL Bar 9.1 over Sonos ARC + Rears for the best Dolby Atmos experience? I would get the JBL Bar 9.1 very cheap... like 700€ ARC+Rears would be 1100€ and maybe 500€ additional if I want a sub
@RyanI would keep it in an open space. You don't want anything affecting the sound. The sound would still pass through. The effects would not be the same. The sound has to bounce off the ceiling down on you. If it's block by anything you lose the effects. Enjoy your day.
Hi Andre. If your room is fairly large, and especially if you have vaulted ceilings, you’ll need some decent-sized speakers and a good subwoofer or two. Depending on the room geometry, you may want to consider a Home Theater System with speakers all around the room for the best coverage. A soundbar system may not be enough coverage to give you the sound you'd be looking for in this situation. Hi, I bought the jbl bar 9.1. My Sony Bravia has ARC port not eARC port. So it can’t not pass the actual dolby atmos sound to soundbar. So I tried to using fire stick but when I connected to soundbar I didn’t get the atmos option to select in Prime as well as Netflix. When i play same things from My tv it’s showing dolby atmos logo but i get dd+ while in Netflix i got Atmos DD+. Pls help me how i can get experience of Dolby Atmos. Shall I returned fire stick?
While we do not have a Firestick to play with at our store, I think you are correct. There are some limitations on the streaming boxes with Dolby Atmos on Netflix. Roku has the same issue. Your best bet would be a new 4K Apple TV as that should output Dolby Atmos. You should also check page 9 of the JBL owner's manual for the best device settings.
Speakers and TV brands have nothing to do with each other actually, one is sound and the other is picture. The biggest thing with a speaker set is getting matched speakers so the sound is the same from all sources.
@@anonymoustroll1549 Possibly, but from reading up on Q-Symphony it appears they aren't matching the soundbar, the TV is simply providing more sound through it's tiny speakers. I hope some of the big testers do a good comparison, but from just reading about this on the Samsung website, they list a whole lot of TV's and no matched soundbars, so it looks like you can use any soundbar and this new feature will simply add the TV speakers to it.
2021 and Sony is the only company not announcing new Soundbars Up Firing Atmos...that said! Which soundbar should I buy for a 3D immersive enveloping sound for movies, Atmos overhead travel effects and a Gut Punch Bass that also Rumbles my 5x4 room with Flat Ceilings? SONY ST5000 or JBL 9.1?

So I have rounded off few soundbars in a price range I can invest, can you suggest which one should I pick or if you have any other in this range that I should consider, that would be really helpful. P.S. I am not keen on thumping bass from woofer, just looking for crystal clear audio, channel separation, awesome clarity and good mix of high, mid and lows. Anything else apart from this will be added bonus. Sony HT-X8500 2.1 - Dolby Atmos YAMAHA YAS-109 2.1 - Dobly Digital/ DTS Virtual X Polk Audio Signa S2 2.1 - Dolby Digital (with wireless Subwoofer) Denon DHT-S316 2.1 - Think this is expensive than others Thanks

I have a full wired 5.2.4 setup with a Atmos digital reading on display and I'm finding it difficult to distinguish between Dolby Atmos and a regular surround sound formats with height channels! Plus i might add, ive seen dozens of so called Atmos content and I'm still yet to discover OBJECT BASED AUDIO! I'm standing to think it's all just a marketing ploy Lol
@@frijolechingon5713 with a lack of regulation companies can practically say what they want! very clever marketing because consumers are under the illusion by purchasing a Dolby Atmos soundbar /AV receiver one will automatically be able to decode Dolby Atmos content, little do they know the only Atmos content they'll be able to receive will be through a Blu-ray player not unless one has got a premium TV with Atmos decoding then if so, one can also be able to decode Atmos content thorough steaming! If you click on the red dragon twice you can see what I had to finally resort to purchasing all just for me to be able to experience so-called 'object-based audio'!
Hmm, why does it sound like if you're reading manufacturers's brochures? You selected very nice equipment and I was expecting some pros and cones about it...
Well you have explained it all but the most important thing is missing. You never play them (sound test/comparison) for the viewers to determine which sound bar suit their taste better. You are just explaining which one is better from your point of view but everyone has their own different taste in sound and music.

What about the Nakamichi Soundwave Pro? I was thinking of getting them because it looks like the best bang for the buck. They also look like quality speakers have you had a chance to check them out or they any good?
Samsungs audio has improved since they now own Harmon International, which consists of JBL, HK, Infinity, AKG, Mark Levinson, Lexicon, Revel and a few others...
That's true cuz my budget q60t with dts virtual x blows my mind.
This was just a regurgitation of the companies marketing words

Awesome video man! And thank you for taking the time to make this clear and concise video. You truly helped me not to buy the $150 -$250 sound bars out there. You get what you pay for.
i went from the vizio sb3651 e6 to the n950 so id have to agree and disagree for you the vizio's 5.1 are by and far the best cost to performance sbars out there the vizio issues are all people not knowing how config cec on their devices
Hi, are there any soundbars that support eArc? in this video i didn't understan well but it's seems to me that there are only Arc soundbars for now..
The Sonos Arc, JBL Bar 9.1 Samsung HW-Q90R, Senheiser AMBEO all support eARC. Here is a link to the written article with more details www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/2020-best-soundbars/ Thanks for watching!

Great review, just wished Harmon Kardon Enchant 1300 was reviewed together as well.
Sonos is clear number one... best sound by far... incredible!!
I bought 2 top of the line PSB mini speakers regularly $759 for $290, on eBay, also a 12" Klipsh Subwoofer at Best Buy for $249. Also a Denon Home Theatre Reciever for $270 at Cruthcfield. Total $818, thie system is awesome, 2-3 " woofer vs 12"woofer 400w, phenomenl speakers as well. No soundbar will ever come close. You can change componets as well, they fit under my tv. Aug 27, 2020

I’m debating whether to go with a soundbar or the Klipsch The Fives I keep hearing such great things about those speakers
Anytime the fives
Thanks for this review - I was lost browsing online before I saw this. Super detailed!
wow couldn't agree more
Wow, you've given me a lot to think about. I'm looking forward to hearing one of these bad boys in my house

I want to buy a dolby atmos soundbar from Sony ht st 5000 or Samsung Q90r or JBL 9.1. Which one is the best?
Sonos arc with sub:)
I’ve listened to all three of these and I found the Q90R can go really loud, has tight clean bass, clear highs and dialogue, with wireless upward firing surround speakers. Extremely happy with this and it bears my old 7.2ch full system setup!
go for sony, i owned it and i loved it. it will blow you away, even at vol. 20 😅

Missing Yamaha's Sound Projector. Yamaha's marketing department always seemed to fail to differentiate the difference between sound bars and sound projectors. The projectors ability to "beam" each channel using reflective surfaces around the room is superior to sound bars vaguely hosing down the room with sound
Can I use these as an output speaker for my mixer? Inputs are acoustic guitar and vocals only.
Why did u leave out the nakamichi
Maybe for their higher price...
I have the samsung one which is impressive but not anywhere on par with my KEF home theater system and Yamaha amplifier.... was thinking is Ambeo a bettet sounding soundbar than the total system of samsung? There’s no way you’re doing this shoot-out accurately and not including the Nakamichi. Their sound and feature-set are causing problems for the more established brands here.
arrakian Nakimachi for the win!!! 9.2.4 🔊🔊
Flow I am ready for a newer model, but that’s my front runner above all these others. Maybe if the Sennheiser had subs it could compete. Without subs, I’ve heard those built-ins don’t go that deep.
My advice is to avoid soundbars despite there is no place for bookshelf speaker. Also You'll save a lot of money.
How about bose soundbar 700?
Too expensive for this bad quality...same like the 500...
Chose Sonos, Sennheiser, Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins...
But Sonos is really the best...the Sonos Arc or Playbar is really enough.

Many thanks

What about Bose 700 ? I heard the sound at costco and i was trully amazed ! But they dont support dolby atmos i think...

Which current sound bar is best for speech clarity?
Samsung q950t..? What about it q90r is a category less

How is the jbl 9.1 for music !!!

Which one would you say is better the Sonos Arc or Sony ST5000? Not sure which one to buy if I'm looking for the best of the best.
What did you choose? Debating between ht-z9f, g700, or ht-5000
Everybody says the Sony is a beast
Nakamichi 9.2.4.....thats the only soundbar system you need👍

which would be the better bar for the sony x900h?

Sony htz9f...
Does the Sony have EARC?
Yes
Hello friend, I need your help to choose. Sonos Arc with sub or Sennheiser Ambeo which one is the best for movies and music.
Yes
I have the same question
If you need fuller sound with wider soundstage that mimics home theater system more precisely then go for samsung or nakamichi high end models. They give the most immersive experience in movies also to a degree to musics. If you are all about music then sonos.
Sound bar is sufficient? No more having to buy a receiver, amp, tower speakers, etc.. and all that?
Hi I have sony ht5000..I can't feel the atmos r dtx....what is the issue...I'm not using tv im using Epson 5300 projector
Well it doesn't support atmos
I'd no doubt want the Sennheiser. I love my Sennheiser headphones. It's good to see them getting into the speaker domain.
Nubert 7500....Price / quality is amazing

Sony ht-z9f, ht-5000, or latest g700???
The HT-5000 is the better model, the other two are really just 3.1
Thanks for the response. I was thinking down the line that I would grab the rear speakers for more immersive sound.
At same price point, ht-z9f or Samsung HW-Q900T? Appreciate your opinion.
Hi it was a nice explanation. If possible what may be the best sound bar I should go for. I have Samsung Q95T at home and my room size is 14 x 14 ft.
I would get the JBL Bar 9.1 very cheap... like 700€
ARC+Rears would be 1100€ and maybe 500€ additional if I want a sub
You made my “BOSE SoundTouch 300” a peasant soundbar :(
Own both the HW950 and the Q90R Great soundbars.
@RyanI would keep it in an open space. You don't want anything affecting the sound. The sound would still pass through. The effects would not be the same. The sound has to bounce off the ceiling down on you. If it's block by anything you lose the effects. Enjoy your day.
Which is best for large room with high vaulted ceilings, (22’)?
Have a look at our guide to the Best Home Theater systems here: www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/the-best-home-theater-systems/ and if you have any questions, come have a chat with one of our soundbar/home theater chat experts at www.audioadvice.com/ so we can help you determine which one is right for your room. Hi,
I bought the jbl bar 9.1.
What do you think of the b and w formation bar ???? Anyone please
Nakamichi test please!
Nice video, thanks a lot.
But I have the Samsung Q85R TV at home, so I think, i will go with the Samsung HW-Q90R. Very clear choice in my eyes.
Speakers and TV brands have nothing to do with each other actually, one is sound and the other is picture. The biggest thing with a speaker set is getting matched speakers so the sound is the same from all sources.
@@8654ZuluFoxtrot now they do matter after samsung introduced q symphony.
Ambeo only needs surround satelites to be a must have, Imo. And a sub, off course.
The sound bars are often over priced too. For about $2,499 you get about $300 worth of hardware, in a nice small cheap plastic case.
Great review, just wondering if you did a review on the LG SN11RG Dolby Atmos soundbar.
Thank you! We have not.
Hey, I am planning to buy soundbar for my PC which has 4K monitor (BenQ EW3270U) as well. My motherboard has 5+ Optical S/PDIF port for audio (Realtek ALC1200 Codec). This soundbar will be in my bedroom and I don't want 5.1 speaker setup.

I'm a little confused! how can you possibly get Dolby Atmos (object based audio) when all the speakers are within a couple of feet of each other?
not unless you're talking about VIRTUAL ATMOS !
It is all just a big gimmick, but folks demand someone else's opinion and these guys will keep giving it...

LG75UN8000 WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY LGSL8YG OR SONY HT-700RF ?
Well you have explained it all but the most important thing is missing. You never play them (sound test/comparison) for the viewers to determine which sound bar suit their taste better. You are just explaining which one is better from your point of view but everyone has their own different taste in sound and music.
Its kinda pointless to have them playing. The audio quality depends on the speakers playing the video... which isn't the most high definition audio files anyway??
