I used to live at a fish hatchery, and a couple of aesthetic suggestions is to fill the channels under the floor grates with water (maybe even add some stained glass to give an illusion of darkness to them), and add water pipes and drains to the tanks. That way it will look as if the water in the tanks is being constantly circulated so the fish don't die from oxygen deprivation (which can happen in a tank that size).
great idea
You could enchant the fishing rods with mending so the experience repairs the rod, which means you wouldn't need to constantly supply the machines with them.
Doesn't work sadly :( deployers can't pick up the xp to apply it to the rod - had same issue with swords in mob farm
Plus repairing the mending rods would probably require an extra bunch of stuff.
@@MrBeardstonewhat if you somehow integrated those experience drains you had back at your mob farm in beardew valley?
@@FlamingNinja There is a chance to catch a mending rod when fishing. As for the mending rods themselves the experience from the act of fishing it's self will repair them. As long as you only use it for fishing and it has enough durability to get it started it will never ever brake. besides will give all that experience sitting around something to do. lol
@@dranoradragonqueen1494 You make it sound so easy but the fishing rod itself cant pick up xp so it wont be repaired.
The fact you don't have millions of subscribers by now is actually crazy.
The quality of your videos, the builds, the upbeat commentary, the humour, all the surprise visits from Foxy, the rain... THE BLOODY RAIN... EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!
I have watched your entire create series from start to finish and I loved every single second of it. In no time Beardy, you will be massive. Keep it up dude, you are genuinely killing it. Some of the best most enjoyable, engaging Minecraft content I have seen for a long time.
Yeah!but he is getting subscribers very fast nowadays
Disenchanters from Create: Enchantment Industry will automatically collect XP orbs and convert them into a liquid like an item drain.
It collects them, but does not attract the orbs. Only when the orbs happen to pass over the disenchanter does it collect them, and that rarely happens.
@@johnmillerpere_grin6371 you’re right, my bad. I was thinking of xp siphons from Spelunkery
6:32 You can use Sophisticated backpack, with magnet+tank upgrade it will catch both fish and exp
Wanted to say the same. He just needs to put down the backpack close to the fishing rod. Netherite backpack to have enough space, and some stack upgrades too.
This
The magnet still works when the backpack is placed as a block? I'll do some testing, since I want to collect xp and fish from my fish farm automatically as well.
@@johnmillerpere_grin6371 All upgrade still work in backpack. Kinda buggy to setup but when it works it work's fine.
Also please use the backpack as storage for the fish, you can even put auto furnace in it. Soph. Backpacks are the best block in a create contraption 😊
If you want treasure loot from the fishing, you need to have the water open to "open Sky" so no roof above that section, and the glass i think would also break that if you put that above the water sadly.
I'm pretty sure sky access is not needed but the pools are too shallow, treasure needs a 5x5 area 4 blocks deep to spawn
F3 menu will tell you if a certain water source block will give treasure when fished, I think it is something like open water, but I don’t remember.
Due to a previous update to fishing (1.16), the water source block must also be located in an ocean or river biome to get treasure loot. I also think it has to be open waters for it to drop treasure loot.
Since there's a truckload of false facts here, here are the requirements for "open water" for the treasure loot table to be accessible. Two blocks of air above the bobber and two blocks of water under the bobber, with a 5x5 area centered on the block the bobber is in. No sky access slows down but does not prevent the fish biting. The debug menu without modification will not tell you if a water block will provide treasure when fished in. Biome does not affect fishing mechanics, except if you fish in a jungle biome, in which case bamboo (and cocoa beans in BE) will be added to the junk loot table.
@johnmillerpere_grin6371 huh I wasn't really sure about the biome thing. Thanks for pointing that out! I really appreciate it!
Imagine if you had a restaurant where you can select any type of food you wish and it will craft it for you.
That would be a amazing build for the farming town you are planning to make!
Create: Food actually allows something like this. There’s like a dozen burger variations alone in case you want tomato and lettuce but not onions. I believe the Forge version has at least some of this functionality also
@@iamsushi1056 With farmers delight, I doubt limited food options will be a problem. Unless that addon makes it easier to make food?
Subway be like:
@@legoatoom for that just use create: slice and dice, it adds farmers delight recipes to create
Been watching Grian a bit now have you? Haha.
Save the first mending book you get.
😂
@@MrBeardstonelove your vids, doesn't matter where the inspiration comes from
Mr Beardstone! SO close to 200k subs. SO CLOSE! I'm excited for you dude.. AH! we shall have to have a celebratory beer soon! 🍻
Yes we shall he should build a tavern at beardsdew valley
Looks like it's at 200k now to me
Hey Mr B, an idea for the future... you said you might add a car park to the docks area, you could build a residential district for all the people who work at the docks then automate cars to leave the houses and drive to the docks to park (maybe add some classic UK traffic? O.o). you could also set it up so that its on a daily timer so it looks like they arrive for work in the morning then drive home after the days work. Awesome vid keep it up!
To pick up the experience on the fisher, you can get an experience hopper I think that can get pumped into a copper tank.
Experience hopper? What mod is that from?
Grian: next hermitcraft there better be create mod 😂
We should fear if that happend
What ever you do don’t let Grain get ahold of this technology he is already insane
For the fish truck, you need something like a tanker truck. It would be so cool if you could make it look like fish were swimming around inside before getting to the processing center. :)
Or make the truck look like a fish 😂
@@XraptorNZ That's BRILLIANT!
Something that would be cool is if you build another factory site across the ocean, and then you can have massive cargo shipps travveling in between ports
Like building another factory or finding a different type of source that isn't available in any other area.
Imagine Ice, you can't really get them unless you are in the tundra or shallow Frozen Oceans, and maybe Snow that can only be generated in huge amounts in Tundras.
You can even build oil rigs to do more water farming and maybe even a mine??
You can do a wool farm that crushes half the wool to string, keeping wool for projects. Any color wool should gring into string
Sophisticated Backpacks with a pump and magnet upgrade work when they are placed. Great substitute for minecart hoppers too
you can Craft Wool out of Strings, you only need tobuild the stringfarm
i absolutely love the music from this vid im just vibbing and smiling. love your vids havent missed a single one since you started this series
mr beardstone just offered fishermen unemployment
The water damage bit on the floor works really well. I agree with you, I'm not sold on the lights though
Mr. Beardstone, there's a mod that is an expansion to create that works with experience, it even allows you to store experience in tanks
Enchantment industries is installed in his pack at base
The world you are creating very much reminds of the game "Anno 1800". All the production buildings fit right in there.
Oh oh, i know whats wrong with the treasure items! The water NEEDS direct sunlight, so youre gonna have to tear up that pretty roof and add in skylights. That, PLUS the water has to be 5x5x5. You got 5x5x3 right now.
Mojang did this a while back to stop people from making certain types of auto fish farms. Unfortunately it affects us in the modded scene too lol. But yea, you need some skylights above the water for the game to allow treasure loot to drop! Love your content btw! Hope this helps!
I love this series. Its so relaxing
There’s a few mods out now that allow you to automate blocks from Chipped. Foxy made a datapack to make them mechanical saw recipes.
I've been SO excited for the next video, and they keep getting better. Don't stop, @MrBeardstone!
just binged the whole series over the last couple of days and it’s bittersweet being all caught up. fantastic builds my man!
Nice video! 👍🏻 Love watching this series :D
You can use the XP drain from the enchantment addon for create. I thought they could pickup xp obs and store them in a tank
They can, but the orbs go EVERYWHERE so there's nowhere to put a disenchanter that will collect it all - I'd have to spam them everywhere
i just bingged all of your create videos they are so good I really enjoys these and I'm playing create whilst watching and learning things while watching keep up the great work Mr beared stone
thank you for making videos ive been transferring recently going thru tough times I guess thanks for making me feel better with ur vids :)
that trombone solo, though! xD I like imagining that it's Mr Beardstone just jammin away on the sidelines, watchin himself build
I'm surprised you've yet to download building gadgets, such a lifesaver for building
It's got a little of a learning curve, but it is _the_ most powerful and versatile tool I know of. (short of worldedit)
All of your builds look awesome, and I love the roads, though I do hope that you plan on doing something along their edges, as right now they look quite odd in most places.
Awesome episode Beardy, keep it up
This looks awesome man! ❤🎉
22:04 one might even say... He's got other fish to fry
It used to be you needed sky or transparent blocks above the water to get treasure from fishing. Love the build though.
for the wool farm if you have supplementaries installed you can make a flax farm and turn the flax into string
Love your vids, you made me make my own world with create :)
Mob Grinding Utils mod has an item that picks up experience. Another great vid Mr B
i just finished watching your last video and check if you had a new vid up 2 mins ago and you dident, i refreshed my youtube feed and boom! your vid is up :)
The term for the fish farm reset circuit is "watchdog." Usually it's implemented as a timer that the program periodically resets, which is basically what you've done here. If the watchdog isn't reset for a certain period of time, it fires and does something - usually a reset in the case of microcontrollers or PLCs.
A dead man's switch is something that a person has to constantly hold (usually a grip of some sort) that ensures the machine will stop if it's unattended. Examples of these would be locomotives or fuel transfer stations for tanker trucks and barges. If the operator lets go of the switch, the machine shuts down (hopefully) safely.
I've been waiting for you to upload today
To automatically collect XP, use Create Enchantment Industry, it also adds a few neat features like an enchanting factory or just store liquid XP and let it dump on your head later.
I have made a awesome world in your mod pack which I got in TLmods just few weeks and great progression and congrats for 200k sub
The fishing loottable is also effected by whether or not there is a transparent block above where the water is, doesnt matter how high but if theres a block there then you're done for
ALMOST 200K BEARDY WELL DONE
Ooo world download I'm going to grab a download got to be done lol I wish I could build as good as you 😊
I believe item drains work at collecting experience. Due to the Create Enchantment Industry. You could make a setup where the XP from fishing, enchants newly created fishing rods with Luck of the Sea to increase treasure drop rates. That then feed back into the system.
Well, to prevent the inhabitants of your tanks from disappearing in the future, you could name them after channel members/patreons.
They also might be jumping out. I have noticed they do that sometimes.
You asked if anyone knows a way to collect experience, so here's one way. You can place a backpack in world with the magnet and tank upgrades. It'll suck up the experience, and or items if desired. The advanced magnet upgrade offers a lot of filtering features.
Also along with that torchmaster mod you added (my personal favorite) you can make feral flare lanterns which lights up something like a 3x3 chunk area!
such good vid, even after 5 mounth still going good
AFIAK item drains should be able to pick up XP so long as you have "Create Enchantment Industry" loaded in your mods
26:55 im pretty sure you can use stone to recolor the waterwheels
This space can be a small area for Re-Use of items, creating fishing rods with part of the lines
You are about to hit 200.000 subs man keep up the good work man and have a nice day.
this is my favorite series on youtube
"I think we'll steer away from using brick blocks. . ."
Proceeds to make wood brick blocks lol
I love this channel.
I think you could add more fish tanks that are covered up outside extending to the wall of the dock so you can tell it's a fish farm from a far and it'll look like the fish are being bred too as I was thinking about the fish farm mission from the newer cod mw2 game you could. Keep up the great work!
you spoke about making a farming town, but seeing as you already have some more rustic areas I think it would be awesome if you made it into a modern city, with luscious greenhouses and superfast trains (like the Japanese bullet trains) to have some variety to the rest of the world. It would also be cool to have more tourist-y buildings, like (as other people said) restaurants that build your food for you or something cool!
Congratulations on 200k
So the reason why you aren't getting treasure loot even with measures to center the bobber is because the glass used to center the bobber interferes with the openness of the water. The top two blocks of open water are clear air and the bottom two blocks of open water are clear water. I believe there are some exceptional blocks, lily pads are certainly blocks you can place without interfering, but the Minecraft Wiki has a lot more information on fishing mechanics.
you could add some sort of farm to it so it becomes like a aquaponic system where you treat the fish waste with crops
You can use create enchanting industry for the experience and put it into fluid tank i think that you did it in mob farm similarly (sorry for my english)
You should put some ice/snow around the fish barrels to make them look like they are being preserved for shipment
I can't help myself but there are no emissions i land-based fishfarms that would warrant those chimneys, repurpose those bad boys into an oxygen tank or a water tank and you got a winning design. Anyway, really fun to see your take on my line of work and an awsome build as always, love your vids!
What about making a recycling facility?
The idea is that fish farm will produce not only fish, but also enchanted books and tools, which can be disenchanted and then transported with garbage truck (+1 unique vehicle) to the new recyclyng facility.
For the facility itself there is not much to be done, just a bunch of crushing wheels, belts and vaults. Pretty simple build comparing with others that you are already have done. And all resources gained from the recycling can be transported to your home base storage.
finally new video keep it going
You can actually dye the waterwheels, so you can try some colors to make it metallic for the vents
you should have piles of boxes and Ice/snow around as decoration as you see those all over fish storage places/markets
6:35 The create add on mod Enchanting Industries adds on the ability to store experience as if it were a liquid. It has an item called the disenchanter that is capable of turning experience nuggets into liquid experience that you can store using normal pipes and a liquid tank. Somehow turn the orbs into nuggets to store the xp? I’m not sure if the disenchanter can collect normal orbs or only able to remove experience from a physical item. Great mod, never play create without it! There’s a whole lot more to it as well including hyper enchanting and such
This series is so interesting that i finished 39 episodes in just 3 days, waiting for new episodes
A good alternative to belts for item transport is full utilization of storage drawers. You use controller slaves for input and output, with funnels, trims to connect all points of resource usage, and a centralized item storage area for easy tracking of what is in the system
2K UNTIL 200K MAN! YOU’RE SO CLOSE! I wish you the best of luck!
For experience rods, you should be able to use the item drain, and it collect the orbs into liquid, but I could be wrong.
Im not completly sure but to get treasure loot the tanks might need to be deeper, love your videos😀
For the XP Shalz has a bunch of videos about create enchantment industry. That might help!
I don’t know exactly the right name of the mod but there’s a mod that allows you to like collect and store experience. I think you should use that.
you could craft up the damaged fishing rods the machines pull up
i know for a fact that doing this in a crafting table lets you get a rod with a little over the sum of the durabilities of the ones being combined- i'm not sure if it works with mechanical crafters, but i think it's worth a try; if anything, to supplement the ones being fed to the factory
they do lose the enchantments though, so, that's something worth keeping in mind
you could make it use the damaged fishing rods by storing them in a vault up top, and extracting them with funnels filtered to ignore nbt or whatever it is.
2k to 200k congrats!
I tend to prefer Torchmaster these days, because it adds both mega torches like those and "feral flame lanterns," which will spawn in invisible light sources in a given radius around them anywhere that it is dark enough to spawn mobs XD Still, loving how it is all coming along!
since you need to fish in water that has clear access to the sky to get loot. you can put an outdoor fish farm right next to this one where you have more loot drop and fill in the space
If you wanted you could turn your water tanks into 3 big tanks for better chances a treasure loot and maybe a disenchantment factory close by
Unsure if anyone else has mentioned it but theres literally a create addon mod for automating xp, it collects it, it dispenses it, it disenchants if you want, and its just pretty nice with most of its parts just being similar to copper pipes and such since it uses similar models
The dispenser portion of it lets you do an xp shower lol
Give it a look over to see if its worth picking up
I know you already built it but imagine how cool it would be to have another boat that goes to the best fishing spot in the ocean stays and fishes until full and returns to the pier
For the tresure you would need 5x5x5 means also 5 blocks height you only have 3 blocks
you can collect the xp from fishing with Create Enchantment Industry mod with the disenchanter block. the disenchanter collects xp close to the block
man after all this time, finally, the fish farm
So in areas where food is produced there is usually a big freeze warehoure for all the places to store their food. Maybe something for an ice farm?
I love your videos
You should have a road that goes back to your main town, with some trucks carrying fish (and other foods when you farm them)
Hi Mr. Beardstone!
I've ben watching your videos for a while and enjoy your content a lot! For your up and coming town I sugest making a small square of apartments with a courtyard in the center. I think it will add a lot to the already amazing town you've made so far. This will also add some where for the "workers" to live.
1. the glass block immediatly made catching treasure impossible, as it also wants 2 layers of air above the water, 5x5x4 rule. you will need to readjust the bobber, or just create a huge joint pool for treasure to also appear
2. the moment you put the fish unnamed into the tank i knew they'd disappear. you can rename them while they are in the bucket! (can basically just rename them into what they are. literally. is what i did when i built a water feature for a friend on a server. no name tag needed. just rename "the bucket" to the name in an anvil)
Sophisticated backpacks have upgrades to collect experience and items.
There is a mod called "Mob Grinding Utils" that offers item "absorption hopper" and it can collect items and xp. Might be useful.
if youre ever tight for space, vanilla hoppers can feed straight from any storage and straight into an item drain. put a funnel on top and youre done! how does putting an item into the side of a platform make it roll across the top? dont ask unnecessary questions.
I think you get rarer loot in a bigger water area so maybe combine each with the one across.
