I remember buying this album through Kayo Dot's Bandcamp years ago just to have it never arrive. A year or so later, I received a package in the mail in the shape of a CD. I wasn't expecting any music as I hadn't ordered anything for quite some time. When I opened it, to my surprise, it was Choirs Of The Eye, and a handwritten note from Toby Driver apologizing for never shipping it out to me. By that time I had completely forgot I ever even ordered it! Thanks, Toby.
The final 3 minutes of A Pitcher of Summer is one of the greatest musical climaxes I've ever heard.. And like many others, 20:52 makes me misty eyed every time. Fuck streaming platforms, I need this album injected into my veins.
Still enjoying this in 2023, got it when it first came out and saw Kayo dot many times in New England early 2000's such a phenomenal record and always enjoyed talking with Toby, Greg Sam and the rest of you guys at the shows !
All songs of this album makes me wanna cry Marathon makes me wanna cry of despair. The Pitch of Summer makes me wanna cry of nostalgia. The Manifold Curiosity makes me wanna cry of sadness The Wayfarer makes me wanna cry of longing The Antique makes me wanna cry of confusion
was goona go see them in a couple days................................................ life explodes on me and can't see them play this in it's entirety for the 20th anniversary ugh much love for putting this back online
@@jackwinkles3050 Birth Pains of Astral Projection is great and all but there's some naivety to it that puts it below the songs in Choirs of The Eye, even if the execution is passionate

Thanks for commenting this. Choirs is prob my #1 album of all time, so I decided to finally check out liturgy after all of the complaints I've been hearing, and I actually like them a lot, surprisingly. No kayo dot for sure, but an interesting band nonetheless. Like a better deafheaven maybe lol
So very glad this is back on youtube - now spotify please!
Sadly Tzadik don’t seem to want any of their stuff on Spotify.
@@nickwilson4278Yeah, John Zorn is pretty militantly against streaming as a whole
It is now!
We won

the quiet bit 18 minutes in really reflects todays mood. "terrible music makes me feel happy and happy music makes me feel terrible" steven wilson
Absolutely. That's how our brains are wired up
Ending of manifold curiosity best black metal I’ve ever heard
Pleistocene (The Ocean) had a similar idea, but that perfectly executed as Manifold Curiosity.
interesting observation, they did try that... but that was years after this record.

20:52 - this is the final thing I want to hear in life before I die. The sound of going out in a blaze of glory.
Brings me to tears every time.
I knew exactly which part it would be before I checked, and I agree
Bingo!
I will never forget the first time when i hear the manifold curiosity. Incredible album and incredible song. More music like this in the world please.
The world will be a better place when this album is given the recognition it deserves.
Oh shit it’s back. This album changed the game for me.
I'm so happy to see Kayo Dot fans, this band is wonderful

Never would have imagined the people's champ Falcon main having such good taste
Probably my favorite too. It's a really unique album.
This is the last place I'd expect to find you.
A monument in time

Me too ❤.
I must be dreaming, Choirs on RUclips?? Spotify next please guys!
john zorn says no :(
It has been uploaded along with the rest of tzadik’s catalogue
one of the best albums of all time. there is no song on earth that feels just like how the manifold curiosity feels.
It's nice to hear music so touching, I was in high school when I first heard these guys, they've been in my heart ever since
Seen this live in its entirety at Complexity Fest yesterday. Beautiful insanity this was.
That moment at 36:55 always blows my mind. Perfection!
YES!
For me it's 24:13
Its such a dream like section. It really feels like floating

The leap in quality from Bath/Leaving Your Body Map to this is still hard to grasp
Birth pains of astral projection is amazing though, as good as Manifold imo and manifold is one of my fav songs ever made

Un album totalmente anarchico. Fantastico!
Congratiolations, we have a new genre - death-jazz...😅
Does this mean a release for streaming is in the cards as well?
Way better than Liturgy.
Kato Dot did it first.
Liturgy got some nerve to be talking bout transcendental metal of any kind when stuff like this exists
