We set Reuben & Jack the challenge of riding the brutal cobbles of the Paris Roubaix Challenge on Saturday, spectating the pro race on Sunday and then turning up at work on time on Monday. The rest is history.
You guys make a great double act! Seems like you had a really good, bumpy weekend of it.
I so love these adventure vlog-vids and this is another great one! Jack and Reuben make a great duo. Love the humour! And the insights you still provide! Awesome job! More please!
This is the type of video the full-screen is reserved for :D
Really enjoyable film. Well done on the ride and thanks for sharing it.
These ride reports are my favorite. Keep them coming!
Honestly you two put out the best content on this channel! Great videos every time, very enjoyable and fresh!
Finally another Jack & Reuben tale!
cheers guys!
Really loving this change-up to vlog style from the previous set-up interview edits. Great to see some variety :)
Great video, love the "Ridden" playlist.
This was top quality content -brilliant lads! Inspired to experience the pave.
Such a relaxed video. Beautiful done.
Brilliant stuff gents, hope there’s more of these in the works. 👍🏻🚴🏻
More of this kind of thing please. Send them all over the world. Dirty Kanza?
+1 on that!! They are awesome!
We'll certainly be at the DK in some capacity, though we're not sure if either of these two will be going.
Well, if there's a chance to get them over there, let's see it!
“Instant talking point that fork”
I would argue the real talking point is that integrated bottle opener 👌🏻🍺
compelling viewing. Nice work chaps!
I don't understand why more people don't ride bikes like these. I have a Cannondale Slate Ultegra that uses 650x42 tires and a 30mm lefty fork. I can cruise easily 20mph on smoother surfaces, and when I hit the rough, harsh, brick roads around town I bomb the f' out of them at 18+ mph. You almost don't even slow down on rough terrain, it's soooo much fun. When I plan my rides 20-40 miles I always put brick roads in there somewhere because it's just so much fun to bomb rough areas like that when 'you shouldn't be able to' on a road ride.
I ride a MTB with Schwalbe Bigone's 29 x 2.35. These tyres are incredibly fast on the road, but also amazingly fast and comfortable on really rough single track. As long as its dry, they are very capable off road.
Outstanding work. Keep it up
Like watching your adventures. Keep going
Just appreciate at 3:25 how they don’t take any notice of the pros rolling past, they’re just too cool for pros😎
I love watching your videos
Yeah! another Jack and Reuben adventure!
Great video!
Can we have more adventures with jack and Rueben ?
Jack is breaking so many cycling rules in this video. Sunglasses inside the straps, bike on the ground drive side down...
More videos from these guys please!👍🏻
I absolutely love these kind videos.... You should do one next year's Strada Bianca Sportive ;-).
Im tempted to use something with actual suspension, the new Niner Full Suspension bike looks great!
bigger tires and a thudbuster should do the job
Great video chaps, ive done it on 27mm (horrendous) twice on 37mm slicks, (comfy but sketchy on wet cobbles) and 32mm gravelKings this year, (nice) can you post the model and specs of the bikes you used?
Who are the assholes that give this a thumps down? Love these adventures of Jack and Reuben
I'm watching during covid-19 and that feedzone just gave me anxiety
So cool
nice work gents
I really envy you guys. Looked like such a great experience. I wasn’t sure if the actual P-R was on Sunday?
Have those same socks. Very comfy
These guys are great!😂😂😂
À test that I would like to see in next year's version: classical, oldschool road bike (23/25c tires) Vs a fat bike (like the willier jaroon) and riding in the arguably smoother field next to the road
Great video. I’m just getting into gravel bikes, big tyres and now bike packing. Your videos help a lot!! What handlebar bag is that?
9:15 “how do they ride that fast?”
Called PED’s 😂
"We've slept together before". Ooooookay ......
True brits overtaking on the wrong side in continental europe :D
The bromance is so strong I can feel it from here in Australia!
What happened to the Garmin 1030’s screen?
I dropped it... A very painful moment that was.
Reuben how did the oneby feel on the ride ?
The Devil at 11:02 👍👍
This weekend looks like it was heaps of fun, great job! How did you like the MCFK wheels?
The wheels are great! You can check out Reuben's review of the wheels here - www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/wheel-sets/product/mcfk-35-wheelset-review-51097/
Dope
Come to California and ride with the San Bernardino White knucklers.
Looks like something to do ! And find a bike like Rubens....🤔
Was that front tyre on backwards? @ 9:38
That shirt!!!!
Is fabulous?
Reuben what bike did you ride? Is that a Canyon Grail?
Its an Open Upper :)
Has anyone found a solution to stopping hair sticking through helmet vents? (without a cap)
Try male pattern baldness, did the trick for me
9:38 you need a new mechanic
For 2019 or 2020, see if you can take the Niner Magic Carpet Ride to go full gravel
Correction: You guys tried to find a hotel room the night before the second oldest bike race ;-). Paris-Roubaix was first raced in 1896, but the first incarnation of Liege-Bastogne-Liege was already held in 1892. Anyway, love the video...
Good knowledge! Consider Jack schooled...
What handlebar bag were you using?
Jeff Harper Yanco Bags
Why haven't anyone put drop bars on a full sus xc bike yet?
Geometry
OMG sunglass arms OVER straps, bro!!!!
I would have gone for harder gearing - Paris-Roubaix is pretty flat and you don’t need a 1-1.
Ironic that it's sponsored by Eurotunnel Shuttle when they do everythng they can to discourage people from taking bikes on the train. Fine if you want to drive with bikes in/on the car but generally much easier to take the ferry if you're riding.
We think you might be confusing Eurotunnel Le Shuttle with another service that uses the same tunnel. We can't comment on their policy, but our sponsors don't take foot passengers with or without bikes.
I'm sure those bikes - suspension and faaaaat tyres - were better on the cobbles than the bikes the pros, and most other people on the sportive(?) ride, but isn't the point of doing a ride like Roubaix that you experience a bit of what the actual race across the cobbles is like? Surely riding a suspension fork or 47mm tyres across the cobbles is like riding Ventoux on an Ebike?
I got sick of idiots pulling sketchy undertakes like you guys continually did. Glad we didn't meet on the pavé.
Even though I agree with your point, you're just humiliating yourself with this childish behaviour.
Who? Why? If you mean me, firstly why would it be childish or humiliating to get fed up of idiots putting others at risk by carving left and right across the pave while riding the same event I rode, and secondly why would it be childish or humiliating to object to it on a video showing exactly that behaviour? I'm confused - or is this a classic example of trolling?
Matt Kemp Ride faster or stay right. Problem solved.
You mean Roubaix riders always overtake on the same side, with the cyclists they are overtaking all staying on one side, intuitively & considerately knowing when they're about to be overtaken?! Wow Matt, I'd like to visit that parallel universe you live in.
