- Some rabbit holes take a few months and several thousand lives to work themselves out. What's I find most entertaining is figuring out what started you out down that rabbit hole in the first place. While I will miss not having Emily lift the faithful into heaven, I take solace in knowing they are doing what they love. As far as they are concerned they are already in paradise.

I’m pretty sure game developers should all watch Francis John.
Or better not...they might patch away the exploits 😆
Francis would just find new exploits. Also I meant developers of new games more then the already existing ones. There must be a fortune of potential ideas no matter which game Francis is currently playing.
@@murphychurch8251 Too late, why do you think the 1.3 patch changed everything about animal husbandry, killboxes, nomadic playstyles, making tribal wizards. The developers did everything they could to stop people playing the game in the Francis John manner, and succeeded to such an extent that Mr John had to find new dastadly ways to succeed. Not even kidding, just wait until the next patch, everything will change again to stop people from playing this new way. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the devs way to stop this is by forcing mechanoid drop pod raids, every hour, on combat tiles. Lol
They watch, no doubt about it.
They watch, and then they weep for the loss of innocence.
Honestly the idea of doing a blood steel base is amazing, and i did not see the combat tile base coming at all. And i think you carried it out fantastically too. The 'good guys' skit in this video was very amusing lmao. Glad to have been a part of this playthrough as a viewer and having a pawn with my name as well lol. Thanks for the playthrough, and looking forward to the next one!
I already have a multi year massive cannibal raider colony. He just gave me the last bit of challenge I needed.
All my furniture is human leather. Every nation is my friend because of human leather. Everyone has clothed from human leather. Everyone is warm in the cold dead forest because of generators using human meat. Everyone is happy because of lavish human meat meals.
Now I just need to rearm everyone with human metal equipment.
Any new turrets and walls will be Human Resources.
Because I am an eco-friendly mad cannibal cult :3
@Azul, when I saw your name get selected for a pawn, I thought there was no way that’s the same Azul whose comic I adore. It’s cool to see we both enjoy Francis’ content.
I love your work and am excited to see what happens with Cheryl and Delilah (hopefully you don’t draw too much inspiration from Rimworld though, not sure my heart could take that, lol)
@@d.6325 Isn’t Azul’s comic the best?
@@123JerryBoat Yep! Wholesome LGBT+ Awareness!
"You have left us completely floored" That pun is surely more evil than anything accomplished in Emily's name
Heavymetalpie waking up to their own skull staring at them was both hilarious and extra dark. Bravo on this playthrough FJ, it was entertaining from start to finish!
He should have taken off all the clothes before killing her. Now they're tainted.
@@MarcCastellsBallesta When a pawn is resurrected, their tainted clothes become untainted again.
She is going to be so embarrassed, imagine having your head on a spike!! everyone is going to think she is a careful shooter.
@@melananighthawk Oh, I didn't know that.
It really bummed me out that Good Dog never got his spine taken care of--but that just means there's an opportunity later. Perhaps a "Good Dog" sub-cult will arise from the Emilyists in the next playthrough? Fun storytelling to be had for sure!
I don't think we'll see good dog in the next playthrough. But, at least, Francis should do a short. One minute to see good dog running in a corpse field, as he would've wanted.
tail though
To be fair, he could do exactly what he did to the other pawn.
Kill it and resurrect right after, I believe he got 3 serums from the quest, so he should have an extra lying around.
My point is, you can picture this good ending for good dog, and may he feast into human meat until he gets old and a heart attack.
@@eloycneto Killing the dog and resurrecting it wouldn't restore the spine I don't think... but you're right, it wouldn't be too hard to think of an ending where Good Dog dies an old dog.
@@starryknight64 I am 100% certain. Res mech serum ressurects any animal (human or not) to it's prime. The subject will be alive, free from any BAD hediffs.
Artificial parts persists, but in a situation where you control the form of death (like euthanize), you can remove let's say a peg leg, kill someone, ressurect them and they will have a brand-new leg.
That was one hell of a postmortem of an amazing series. You've broken the game over your knee like few others have.
In terms of production value, quality, and my personal enjoyment, this postmortem outperformed most finales. Well done FJ!
When I first heard about Rimworld and the concept of a story generator game, I was skeptical: how would anyone make it work?
Welp, guess I found my most accurate answer in this series. Thank you Francis for showing how wrong I was, and to let us know all madness have a reason.
I find that it helps to install catrace mods. It's honestly quite shocking how much more attached you get to pawns when you add a coat of paint and some cute ears. Maybe that's just me, because I was raised on anime, but I feel it adds a lot. My current favorite is Nyaron Lite because it is mostly balanced, doesn't add item bloat, looks great, and is compatible with the WIP Facial Animation.
I've also added Slim Rim, to my shame. It's harder to get attached to jumbo sized pawns. Sad, but true.
Francis: we're the good guys
*Flashback*
Lathland: *commits atrocities upon the xenos, glasses their planets, condemn billions to death in stellaris*
"We're the good guys"
Francis wasn't claiming they were the good guys. Allie Piper was. She was the one refuting the claims that they were monsters. Mitchell did not help disprove the theory, however.
killing xenos = good guys
Allie's speech cracked me up so hard. I lost it at "Carbon Negative" lol. The whole series was brilliant, well done and thank you Francis.
That last scene of Allie giving thanks while Mitchell blissfully preaches about gore was straight magic
This was the best Rim World play through I've ever watched. Clever, creative and ruthless.
What a beautiful showcase of a rimworld playthrough. From start to finish this has been quite the ride, and quite symbolic of the game in general. I think this will be my new favorite video to introduce people to the game lmao
Oh wow I think that might scare them away, maybe start them on something a little less seasoned :)
One year later, and this is indeed the one video I use to introduce people to rimworld.
The way you fixed that brain damage... Rimworld in a nutshell.
You've discovered the reason I've rarely 'completed' a playthrough of Rimworld :D
You often hit the point where you don't want to end the run, and have a crazy bunch of Pawns that have really come to life.
That said it was an entertaining playthrough. Any ideas on what the next one is going to be? Desert or Tundra Base? Extreme temperatures and terrain? Reforesting a Wasteland Tile?
I have no idea, I usually pick a single Idea that changes the playstyle entirely. You know like nomad, or hire everyone or a steel floor. Might go modded next.
@@FrancisJohnYT hey francis, i might have an idea for your next run if you wanted to go a little deeper into ideology-rp'ing
@@FrancisJohnYT I think a “vanilla expanded” run would be awesome. You always give in depth tested facts and comparisons between weapons. It would be awesome to see how you min-max the different added weapons and crops and animals. It also wouldn’t break the gameplay too much :) I’d certainly watch it.
@@FrancisJohnYT There's some interesting ones like Rim War at the moment, but if you're going for one of those you need to watch out for unintended effects.
Rim War lets factions establish new bases and destroy enemy ones, so the world map shifts and changes over time, as well as letting you ambush trade caravans, scouting parties and warbands off of your main tile if you want to. It also makes raids make a bit more geographical sense, as enemies are limited in how far they can go from their settlements to raid you (Configurable setting).
I'm currently crying a bit, because for the 4th time in a row the friendly factions near-ish to my base have rolled over the hostile ones and left me dealing with nothing but mechanoid raids forever XD
That said I'd also recomend a handful of race mods that add interesting mechanics and differences without utterly breaking the game:
Revia - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2020041005
Warhammer Dryads - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1694750191
Drow - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2012718526
@@FrancisJohnYT "Might go modded next."
I thought I'd never see the day.
If you go down that rabbithole, make sure to do a lot of research, and potentially create a separate install to prevent autoupdates from breaking anything. Your playthroughs tend to be quite long, and there's a lot that can go wrong in that amount of time, as Mr Samuel Streamer can attest.
I will also warn that once you go all in on mods, it's almost impossible to go back to vanilla Rimworld ever again. If there are any vanilla playthroughs you have planned, do those first before diving off the slippery slope. Also be warned that the uninitiated playerbase turn their noses up at modding.
There are a large number of QoL mods that alter game balance (simple sidearms, Pick Up And Haul), mods that fill logical gaps in the tech tree (RimFridge, Vanilla Missing Bionics), mods that make pawns look waaay more adorable (Erin's Body Replace, [NL] Facial Animation WIP, Nyaron Lite)...
Before you know it your endgame goal is to build a Star Destroy (Save Our Ship 2) and lead an XCOM style offensive against the machines (Vanilla Factions Expanded: Mechanoids), using blatantly overpowered bionics that turn pawns into the equivalent of Giger's Alien (Evolved Organs Redux, Expanded Prosthetics and Engineering), while also dealing with the nastiest creepypasta the internet could conceive (Secure Contain Rimworld, Typon, [RH2] Void Storyteller), armed with charged rifles and power under-armor that may or may not come from a "maid mod". (Eccentric Tech: Foxy's Armory, Eccentric Tech: Angel's Apparel).
This video sums up why I love watching your videos.
It's really unique content with the right humor, interesting topics that never fail to leave me shocked at what i just watched (in a good way)
Also the developers should like highlight you at some point!
They definitely need a Francis John pawn
Your base has a truly inspiring amount of 'Milk for the Khorne Flakes!' vibe to it.
What a hell - pun not intended but fully accepted - of a Rimworld playthrough! Well done!
I loved the CGP Grey Easter egg in this video
This is the most amazing episode I’ve ever seen of any RUclipsr. Just WOW. Love it.
Amen! For Emily and the Emilyist!!

“Hear ye, hear ye” The true value of Jade has been declared. Let this not be forgotten
Amazing content as always!!! Love it! Showing the already amazing Rimworld community how to "better" play the game. I think this one even tops the murder munchkins. Keep doing what you are doing.
Hands down one of my favourite Rimworld playthroughs. Nice to see the Emilyists stepping up and aggressively going green!
(Oh, I haven't seen Equilibrium in ages. Time for a re-watch!)
Francis, didn't you forgot about the Good Dog?
#MakeGoodDookWalkAgain
all is well, his wagging tail says so!
Absolutely loved that series. The beginning did not quite get me as much as the others but man was it worth it to stick through till the end.
What you did with Mitchell there at the end was really heartwarming, which is absolutely hilarious as a counterpart to the atrocities that have been simulated otherwise.
Looking forward to looking some more of your other Rimworld runs, though a bit sad to see that I have now already seen most of them (in a disturbingly short period of time). You definitely earned yourself this tiny little Patreon pledge I signed a moment ago.
Thank you for this absolutely captivating entertainment.
Honestly, Mitchell having been a Bloodthirster in disguise this whole time makes perfect sense and explains why things happened the way they did perfectly
This play through was the most innovative effort I’ve ever seen in Rimworld. And that’s saying something, since I’ve seen your other play throughs.
This was breathtaking Francis. This should be on the front page of the RimWorld subreddit. I can never articulate to others why I enjoy ridiculous things like this series and now you have given me the perfect summary of it. The effort alone makes it beautiful. I hope you had a drink after this was posted, because you deserve it.
Each one of your playthroughs has been so incredibly entertaining to watch. Thank you so much for the laughs. Looking forward to the next video!
That HeavymetalPie part was dark and yet super funny. Reminds me of a show on Netflix for its ending. Looking forward to the next series and maybe get to see a few of the pawn look mods and overhauls if you end up going that way.
extremely cool playthrough, part 1, rise of the minigun brigade, and part 2, the skull throne for Emily
Very cool to see you handle such a wild situation, honestly surprised how many times you top yourself with something crazy, and love hearing you talk as you play.
Thanks for another fun playthough FJ :)
thank you for doing this recap video, i loved the recruiting-pitch video style at the end.
Despite the methodology of sustaining this colony, I found this final episode to be rather heartwarming. The story told was phenomenal, mainly because it seemed like the personalities of the pawns shined through. Alvarez the Soon-to-be-Gone ending up a full member, KarlWallace preaching blood and guts, Grumpy Gran shooting at people through the door while she eats her cannibal dinner, and poor Good Dog sleeping in the corner waiting for the day when he can nuzzle his fellow colonists and wag his mech serum restored tail made this playthrough complete.
Very well done, sir. Very well done indeed.
Well, this was entertaining. The most ethical and pro-enviromental colony I've ever seen: a tourist mecca with views to die for. And the pixel-art chair is simply divine.
views to die for - lol nice
You obviously mean throne.

First full play through that's kept me watching till the end, well done mate!
This was one of the most entertaining and informative series on Rimworld I’ve ever seen. Great work Francis!
Keep up the great work! You are my favorite creator
I have a feeling that Yates would love what he inspired you to do. Also, NGL, this whole thing is EPIC. Can't wait to check out the subreddit to see the new meta take hold
This was your best series thus far, and you've had some bangers. From time to time, I come back here, rewatch this and set my copy of Rimworld back to version 1.3 and delete Biotech so I can do this in honor of all those lives lost to make this tile a "better place". 😂
Big fan of your content! Especially that you always find a way to make playthroughs unique.
If you're looking for ideas/challenges in Rimworld, there is a new mod "Vanilla Storytellers Expanded - Winston Waves". It basically transforms Rimoworld into a survival game with increasingly difficult waves of enemies each 1.2 days. It'd have a similar feel than the combat tile with some sort of progress.
No matter what you decide to do next, I am sure it will be great!
Hell yeah! Was getting worried you hadnt uploaded in a while. Figured you found a new type of whisky to experiment with
Great debrief, even greater spin. Thoroughly enjoyed this playthrough.
cheers Francis
You break this game in such a masterful way that it is simply mind-blowing
This is going to be a hard one to top! Great work. super fun to watch. thank you :D
Great series, always excited when the next episodes came out. Love what you do Francis, looking forward to the next one now but wow I had no idea how much planning it takes you to come up with these fantastic scenarios! I will wait patiently for the next.
I was wondering why the episode was late. Nice to see the extra creative effort put in, FJ. Thanks for coming up with these cool strategies and for pushing these games to the limit.
An incredibly entertaining ending to a wonderful series. Kudos
Never stop making content Francis. You're the best thing on this platform rn
Now that ultimate warcrimes temple has been completed, can you do a playthrough where you are a tribe of hippies and only use studf like animal and guranlan trees and psycasts to defend the settlement? Mr Samuel Streamer did something similar, but he made it OP with mods and I'd love to see a good Rimworld player try out a complete pacifist playthrough.
I'm not sure how possible that is on 500% difficulty. Fire based weapons and explosive sappers slaughter animal based defences.
Maybe a sniper based playthough might be interesting where, everyone has to use snipers. Would drastically change base defence design so you could exploit your range advantage.
@@FrancisJohnYT Elite snipers from Kin League of Cambia strike back at the Emily worshippers
@@FrancisJohnYT Well, there are Ideology memes that can certainly help with that. High Life makes those drug benefits even greater, and lets you make those toggleable meat beacons. Tree Connected means you can get an army that doesn't count towards your pawn count through Guaranlen trees, and then could just go for plants and/or animal skill on every actual pawn. Leave the fighting for the riffraff, ya know? But that causes issues with materials cause you can't harvest trees.... Unless you go for Tunneler meme, which makes you need to live under a deep mountain. Raiders don't attack natural walls, even if those are parts of a ruin that haven't been claimed, or have been smoothed. Also makes bug meat, fungus, and insect jelly all give mood bonuses in addition to being considered good food, and to that end Spelopedes and Megaspiders can be tamed to tend their hives and go fight raiders if necessary. But finallly, the thing thatwould make this most possible is the Blinded meme. Blinding rituals have a chance of giving a psylevel, and give an innate 30% psysensitivty boost, making it ideal for a group of wizards. This also unocks the powerful Medical specialist who is only made incapable of violent, and gets boost to tend quality, surgery chance, and a skill to increase a target's immunity gain.
Overall though? I kinda just want to see you play with a non-fluid ideology. Fluid is cool but you can just change it if you get annoyed by it, where others are an added challenge to work around.
@@FrancisJohnYT It'd be neat to see you use one of the modded story tellers that make it a "all neolithic" or "all medieval" world and do what Thehumangod was talking about.
@@FrancisJohnYT Melee-only runs have been done before at 500%, it'd be interesting to see your take on one.
This episode is a work of art, and rewatching it reminds me of how masterful a craftsman you are Francis
Dammit now I ended up watching it, I'm supposed to be doing comments :)
That whole jade thing was just such a fun side effect, made the base look so nice as well.
OMG - everything about this is so perfectly messed up - I LOVE it!!
The text at the end was beautiful, I’m always amazed at Francis’ skill and creativity.
Fun fact about Equilibrium. There was supposed to be a transitional fight/gun battle scene between the lie detector scene and the hallway scene, where Preston fights through a library. It was cut for time iirc. However, the scene concept was included by the director in one of their later films: Ultraviolet.

I wonder just how broken playing on a combat tile taken from the naked cannibals in the ice-sheet biome,
Just having hoards of them freezing to death before they manage to even get to your base
raids can only be of things that can stand the temperature. if no humans can stand it, you will get only mechanoids
@@John-jc3ty but if its a combat tile taken from the nudist tribe only they can attack you,
then who wins?
@@ishaipicus9274 idk if a faction can settle a tile which temperature they cant whitstand. it would be interesting to see
Just did a bit of messing about and it looks like the naked tribals can only spawn around the equator. Might still be possible to get a mission tile on the ice sheet that would achieve the same thing. But that would require a whole bunch more testing.
@@FrancisJohnYT maybe a very cold world were the equator is still cold, so they have no other choice but to settle the cold equator?
i remember seeing a tribe in the ice sheet, but that was long time ago, maybe they fixed it.
This was great. I was really hoping for a postscript where Good Dog got to walk again.
I started watching this to see you do an Ideology playthrough and it just went completely off the rails on the combat tile, what a great series thanks!
This was the closure we needed, but did not deserve. How could we have doubted such kind souls? What an altruistic group!
Loved the ending, this was a really fun playthrough! Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
Wonderful series as always! I took some inspiration from this series and tried settling on a tile where there was a Worshipped Terminal for an artifact. I did this for the purposes of getting more recruits. The only difference from my map and your map is that the enemies arrive every 2 hours, they never flee, and the map is much smaller.
That sounds exhausting, dealing with just daily raids tends to wear me out. Every two hours and I'd be swimming in corpses.
@@FrancisJohnYT Yeah, I am planning on leaving soon. It was a fun experiment, but it is not sustainable in the long run.
Do you have any tips for making caravans easier? When I make a caravan, everything is selected by default, and it takes 15 minutes to unselect everything such as the clothes, weapons, and buildings that are currently in use and installed. How do you create a caravan and only select corpses, weapons, and clothes without having to go line by line, and unselect all the permanent fixtures and such?
@@azrobbins01 Anything that my pawns are not carrying is already unselected. However that still leaves a bunch of stuff. I use the mod "Drag Select by telardo's" It allows you just hold down the left mouse button and drag down the arrows of the caravan screen. Saves a bunch of clicking.
LOVE the "Skullspike Prank" bit. Felt like that was straight out of The Orville as something Isaac would do 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Really enjoyed this series, thanks Francis.
Glad you turned the pews around. Wouldn't want Emily to think your dissing her ! ! ! !
This is horrifying.
I love it.
As an aside - Jade's actually a pretty good material for building colonist bedroom doors out of. Since you generally don't need those to be very tough, a pretty and expensive material that happens to be fireproof is a nice boost to the overall quality of the bedroom. You can pump terrible shoebox sized rooms up to the point where they don't penalize you quite easily by using jade doors - the fact they're pricy doesn't matter so much when you're using tiny rooms and just aiming for a moodlet neutral bedroom.
I really hope you continue this series. Good Dog needs a good spine!!
YES! FJ you made my day, thank you so much! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! Brilliant! Some 300 IQ play right there xD

Additionally even though it may be cheesy I just want to thankyou Francis for giving me something to look forward to after a long day at work
this series had some of your most gleefully deranged moments, I loved it.
i actually ended doing some testing, 1 pawn 96 elephants and 350 legendary golden sculptures, travelling over path of abandoned settlements for half ingame year = 0 ambushes. Abandoned settlements trail works. Reminder thou, pawns are considered to be on previous tile while travelling and only are protected by abandoned settlement when they fully reach it or are leaving from it.
@edit : damn, this episode was amazing
Can you build a settlement directly beside another base? If so that is a fairly crafty way of ensuring you never get ambushed on your way to your trading partner again.
@@FrancisJohnYT no, so you have to leave a one tile free next to npc settlement where you can be attacked, and you have to first make abandoned settlement and then settle your permanent base, but it can still decrees amount of caravan raids drastically
I already did watch this video when it aired. But it needs to be revisited from time to time.
