Thanks for taking a look at MAD! Had a great time working on the design with Chris. Working in the 30 card restriction for those pack o games is BRUTAL, but it encourages us to really flex. I've been tempted to try to go back to this design and see how it would work with a bigger deck and a 3-round game.
Yes! Please do it! With more cards the 4 player version could have bigger hands. And 2 players? Anyway the flipping mechanism is really neat. Would be cool to also flip all cards of one suit, or flip a card that's already scored. Mini-euro-sized cards next time? :P
Great video. Is a deck of gum-sized cards more portable than a regular deck? I guess.. but not enough to justify it - for me. I think the gimmick of that size of cards would hurt vs help the game. Super cool idea of flipping cards, I really like that.
MAD seems to be really fun at 3p. the back of the cards could be colored in a way that you can easily see also if the cards are flipped or not, but besides that, it seems very good. About Rewind/Tricks in my mind, I've commented that on Cards Unbarred, but well, the regular game seems to be very good but Tricks In My Mind, on the other hand, I don't know. I've tried to evaluate what I would do based on this first trick, but the decision is too open and there is no much information to do it, specially in the beginning of the first round. Maybe if we play 10 rounds of tricks, and on the second phase of the game we could bet with, let's say, 5 cubes, in the first 5 tricks, and then the last 5 would close the deal, the decision would be more interesting, because with the first 5 you can try to predict a pattern (based on the cards you saw on the first phase), but the last 5 tricks you could try to mess with the bids of your opponents while trying to match yours.
