- This video is going to go over the functions and how-to's of the Mamiya 645 Super. You will know how to take apart the camera to be cleaned and how to assemble common accessories. yellow is NOT for multiple exposures.. yellow is for when you run out of battery, its shoots mechanically at 1/60th of a second.
You can remove the magazine with just one thumb by using the buttons that are facing the back of the camera housing. Pull the button with the arrow down and press the button next to it. With the other two buttons towards the back of the magazine you can open the back to load the film.
The way you do it you could accidentally open the magazine and the film would be exposed to the light with the loss of your pictures.
The orange position of the ring around the shutter release is for the mechanical shutter if your battery is dead. It shoots a 1/60s. It is not for multiple exposure. There is a switch for multiple exposure beneath the crank.
The two positions on the speed dial when it locks in are for the AE Mode. Thats like one of the main features of this camera... As soon as you are using AE you can set the aperture and the camera will calculate and set the time automatically. I am not sure if you need the AE Prism Finder for that but i would guess so.
Thanks for the comment. I realized after thr video i was going about removing the magazine all wrong! Thanks again for the input.
Exactly I was gonna write the same thing so I searched if someome already explained which you did and I am thankful...saved me a lot of explaining
This was helpful. Thank you.
The silver plate with the red plastic edge that keeps the film from being exposed is called a "dark slide".
Thanks bud.
ha. literally watched this video in the hopes of him naming that piece... you read my mind! I'm missing the dark slide on mine and now gotta comb the ebay listings.
This is someone who has no clue what they're talking about!!!
This is a pretty awesome breakdown. I just purchased a M645 Super from Japan as these aren't too popular where I live. Can't wait to start using it.
secured red dot position on the speeds dial is automatic A mode (aperture priority) when the meetering prism is used. Round dot without exposure lock, square dot with exposure lock
just bought this camera and appreciate this video. thank you
This was extremely helpful. Thank you.
I have the 645 Super and you do not have to press both buttons to remove the back....slide and press just the first button ear the camera....te second one it is just for opening the magazine door.
indeed.. you are correct..this uploader is clueless..
super helpful for a new user. thanks!
I dismissed this video within mere seconds until I noticed Meth, Raekwon the chef, and the RZA. Then I rewound it. Now I'm in deep. Thanks for the review. Wu Tang Forever.
Great overview, thanks for this!
I thought the yellow next to the shutter button was to use the shutter without a battery at only 60/th of a second and not for multiple exposures?
marslugo correct, yellow means full mechanical shutter at 1/60s (flash sync speed) in case your battery dies.
@@ARSAnalog yep, this uploader is laughably clueless
@@RobBob555 i guess he's just not as familiar with the camera, but felt the urge to show it. That happens quite often here on RUclips.
how about thanking him for the free information and kindly presenting your constructive criticism instead of being a prick?
Its actually really hard for me to take off and to place the 80mm. Anyone have an idea on what might be causing it?
When you press start for your grip, what happens? What’s the difference between turning it on and start?
Hi I have one and it have a problem with the curtain I was wondering if you could send me a video of the curtains while shooting it a pt bulb, so I can compare it with mine
have you ever had the shutter get stuck......????mine just got stuck and aint winding.
put the lens back on
The yellow selection near the shutter button, is for timer mode. Surprised you didnt know that.
What do we know? I know that I know nothing.
can you use the magazines from the pro tl on the super?
on the 645 pro tl the "yellow" is a self-timer
Sure is on mine
On the 645 Super yellow is mechanical shutter release at1/60s when battery died
my battery check button does not have the B.C. letters in yellow
neither does mine.. some are slightly different
It’s a shame that the Fuji film FP-100C isn’t made anymore :/
Right? I sold all my gear since then. Bah. Well, nothing stays gold forever.
Does it take very good video?
+Tomas it takes great video, gives a great vintage FILM look to the video.
LOL!!
I was after one of these, but I'm now shocked how cheap it looks compared with the older Bronica ETRS.
Is it possible this camera to work with a digital back like the RZ67 does?
The Mamiya 645DF is compatible with a digital back. amzn.to/2hSgpJ3
Sadly, no. All the 645AF and up will work with a digital back.
Is there a B and a C?
Just want to learn how to use it ?
Why did you choose 645 over the other MF sizes like 6x7?
+Atari jedi This was my first MF camera a few years back. I have since owned every format and still would enjoy a 645.
We also shoot 6x7. I've got a Mamiya 7 and Turner had a Pentax 67 but I think he sold it. You can see it in Episode 9 ruclips.net/video/c59qfhZqL9w/видео.html
I shoot mainly due to portability. Also, many people like the fact the 645 ration is the same as 35mm film, just 4x the size.
Atari jedi shooting 6x4.5 instead of 6x7 you get 50% more shots on a 120 roll. Also it is much more compact an light weight
s00per :)

This is a total hot mess of a review by a newbie. It doesn't have auto exposure!!! That says it all right there!!!
