It's like a soothing mist for my soul everytime I come across a video of someone explaining something with great in-depth knowledge gained through experience in trial & error aswell as theoretical studies but still with a prominent sense of humility and total lack of pretentiousness. Just like what you're doing here Ed.
Nowadays people seem to be about 1% genuinely interested in actual knowledge and 99% interested in "fast gains" in terms of knowledge and having people think they possess great knowledge (aswell as clicks, views and likes).
And thanks for going through your greenhouse setup, it helped me a lot with chiseling out my plan for evolving my own greenhouses up here in Sweden.

Wow... Ed... More Information for us to absorb, I am glad you mentioned how Hot it gets in that green house... 120 degrees, That is the type of heat. I deal with here in the desert, 115° to 127° is not uncommon, the other day we were 122.8°, and your Carolina Reaper plants grown from seed, survived, they did, Droop and wither little bit ... bu, t they recovered, I am amazed how heat tolerant pepper plants are in general, at least the few that I have so far... This is a learning process for me, to figure out what grows best in the desert environment. So, I was listening very, very carefully to everything you said. I am sure over the next several months. I will continue to learn more :-)

      @mog_3825 3 года назад +1

I live in the desert in Southern California and it only gets to maybe 115. Currently 95 today. I have 4 reaper plants in direct sunlight and I have 3 more reapers thay get shade around 6pm during the summer. I noticed the ones in direct sunlight require at least double the water and droop more often than the shaded ones. But once they get enough water, they look absolutely perfect. So in my experience if they're drooping/wilting, it's most likely too much extreme sunlight for too long or not enough water. Or both.

@@mog_3825 cool... I am on a daily basis watching the plants response, you could say i live near palm springs, and today it's like 117 ... my reaper are seemly doing well...

I already have had bountiful harvest in every week of the winter and spring (indoors),
but this time there is like so many aphids, I can not even identify, and so many mites, and TrauerFliegen,
    and who knows what..
And I am never giving up. Many of my plants right now are even smaller than the ones shown here...
And if it does not work out, fine, I will try again and again and again, got all the seeds I need,
got soil and compost.. (obviously infested..)
If it really does not work, will try something else, some other soil etc.
Got plenty of frozen Habanero concentrate, gave plenty away last year, and the year before.
If I did not give so much away, that would be so plenty, plenty, plenty, but its ok.
On good warm days, the plants and soil outside are swarmed by different kinds of wasps, hoverflies,
ladybugs and many other kinds of bugs..
some ants do come up here high on the wall too, but they probably just want to milk the aphids,
not take care of my problems...
A good habanero plant can keep producing well very many years.
This time many did not make it.
But the ones who did, are finally starting to go into high gear right now..

Thank you for your incisive presentation on Carolina Reaper propagation. I have learned that from a 120x30 feet greenhouse I can grow roughly 350 plants. How much can you harvest from each plant per season/year with your husbandry guidance? I am considering an 80x40m A-frame greenhouse setup for Carolina Reaper growing on bato buckets.

I now have 5 Carolina reaper peppers growing, between a foot tall and a foot and a half, finally some flowers. One Trinidad scorpion pepper, purple jalepeno, penis pepper, Pablano and monzano, habeneros and chocolate habenero peppers. All in the same greenhouse. Anyone know if they are going to cross polinate? Lol.

Yeah I already have a ton of Trinidad, habeneros and chocolate habeneros, and Peter peppers. I have them all in one greenhouse under drip irrigation system and I tried one Peter pepper the other day, forgetting about cross, bro. My mouth was on fire for like a hour at least. 🔥😂😂😂 I haven't even planted the dragons breathe seeds yet.

Hey I live in Phoenix AZ, it is starting to get cool at night, down into the upper 60's and in the 75-85 range during the day, I have a reaper plant that has been growing for about 4 months and is about 2 - 2 1/2 feet tall, I forgt to top it and it is like a bush. I have discovered one to two flowers on it, is that normal for a plant this size? I am wondering if I should attempt to build a greenhouse to put my pepper plants in over the winter. I also have a habenero, and jalapeno plants growning. Should I be adding addition soil to the plant pots or just keep watering them and I fertalize spring summer and fall. I appreciate all your videos an information. If i can get one of my reaper flowers to produce I will be very happy!!
