I thought Brad Pitt was handsome but Van Williams had more class and style and way better looks in my opinion and to top it off was Bruce Lees close friend. Van was a gifted actor and was a great actor. RIP Van
In an interview not long before his passing Van Williams was asked how he would like to be remembered and he said that he didn't care about being the Green Hornet or any other role he portrayed but he wanted to be remembered for being "a good husband, a good father, a good grandfather and a good person". He achieved all of those and far more in his lifetime. RIP Mr. Williams
Theophilus Thistle-I have always missed his "Green Hornet" since my childhood in Puerto Rico and never understood why it did not last longer, since it was a family favorite. When I started to watch the new picture on the character, I just thought that it was a bad comedy, since it seemed so ridiculous. I could not believe the actors they choose sometimes and I could not continue watching it. Van Williams was a talented actor who deserves our respect and admiration, and to be remembered properly. And certainly so is with Guy Williams and others, as well as with actresses. Just take Anne Francis, Fess Parker and many others, even today, like the talented Brendan Fraser. To me it seems that for some reason, they are not Hollywood's "pretty boys or girls". But for what I have heard, however, it may be better so. Thanks for this video.
Damn, I didn't know he had passed. Nothing was mentioned in any of the local networks. I'm sure he's in a better place now. Rest in Peace, Green Hornet.
He had 5 daughters 4 biological and one step then adopted he had twins Lynn and Lisa with first wife met Vicki and her daughter Nina who he adopted then him and Vicki had 2 daughters Tia and Brett. And i loved how he never considered Nina as a step daughter or thought of her as adopted she was his daughter
Ty Hardin and Van Williams were two of the best looking actors on the Warner Bros. lot from the late 50's to the mid-60's. Handsome Van was discovered by Mike Todd on a beach in Miami and was advised to try for a movie career since he had the requisite looks and sculpted body to make it, big time in show-biz. It wasn't long before Warner Bros. spotted him and signed him to a contract with roles in the very popular TV series: Bourbon St. Beat and Surfside Six. These shows brought him centre-stage for awhile with a featured part in United Artists 1962 film "The Caretakers", where he romanced Susan Oliver. After those Warner Bros shows fizzled, he garnered more fame subsequently with the successful 'Green Hornet' series in which he starred with Bruce Lee. His best episode on Surfside Six was "Green-bay Riddle' which starred him with guest-star, Lisa Gaye.

More evidence of Hollywood idiocy among producers and casting agents; This man should have been a major star. Another example: Guy Williams.
