In the past, I loved racing my Hobie 16. I also had a high performance grand touring kayak to use for long distance paddling. Now I love my Hobie TI ... great sailing under ALL conditions and excellent for long distance touring. I also have a 12’ Hobie Eclipse. At 77 years, I’ve been a fan of Hobie for many years. I consider H...O...B...I...E a five letter word for FUN !!!
I have a 2019 model tandem with the 180 mirage Drive was a little iffy lying down the dollars for one here in Australia but obviously I bit the bullet best investment I've ever made the smiles on my grandchildren laying back on trampolines enjoying the sea breeze is priceless the smile on my wife space seeing the enjoyment the grandchildren were having justified every cent. Haven't been out fishing in it yet by myself but going by their smiles mine will something like a cod
Aliex, this Tandem Island and the solo version, Adventure Island, have to be two of the most under-rated recreational and fishing kayaks. For the Adventure Island, you essentially could leave the sail and mast at home and have about the equivalent of the super fast Hobie Revolution 16. Leave the amas/akas attached and tucked in tight and you have super stability, more so if left wide. For large lakes, bays and deep open water angling? Hard to beat. And, you can motorize these, too. Brad
As he said you can sail these easily. Watch a few videos and go. The only weak point for the sail is the getting back through a heavy headwind. It will do it, but you are at a crawl. The mirage drive is real good, especially at a slow troll if you fish. You will lose your rods if you use the stock rod holders in the rear, from the sheet line snagging it (eventually it will) Make sure to cord your pole if you use those holders. Love mine!! (Also mounted a 2.5 suzuki on it when off-shore) Cost a lot but nothing compares and you would be hard pressed to turn it over.
Alex, have you seen / heard of Hoodoo kayaks? I’m really considering one, but there’s not much out there yet for reviews as they’re a newer company. Would like to see more on water reviews of it.
Do I detect an Aussie accent from the sales Guy? Anyways, i had my TI almost 4 years now. The vantage seats were worth the wait. I sail every (almost) week and enjoy the Hobie Trailer. Just a fresh water wash down and a tarp to keep the sun off. So much fun I have never wanted to sit still to do any fishing. My dogs love to Sail with me and sleep on the Tramps.

It's a true beast. Coño, it's 200 lbs fully rigged. It can be car-topped with the proper setup and weight capacity.
It's the Rolls Royce of kayaks. 😎👍

These are just amazing fishing machines, all kind of propulsion, highly customizable
Alex, do you have a fishing video on one of these? Something I’d really love to watch.
From 2018 and I was way bigger ruclips.net/video/WthQ4LdfXc8/видео.html
Thanks I appreciate it.
Never really had much interest in sailing but this makes me want one.
Excellent fishing machine

ALEX IS GOING ALL MOANA FULL THROTTLE....islander man style🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 gansta
Lol done already check the fat Aliex tandem island fishing video lol
The awesome kayak
I love my AI. Not sure how much fun it'd be launching the tandem by yourself though.
I have a Rhino T-loader, really helps.
I've seen videos of people using Viking cranes used by hunters, to lift, pivot, and load/unload the beast 😁👍
The best!!
indeed
Awesome
Thanks 😀😁
I wouldn't really call that thing a kayak. Besides as much as i like some of hobies designs. Their main issue has always been they are way overpriced.
