Hugh: "Hold my beer"

@@gamercats4156 No, he needs that
he technically used it for scraps tough.
I actually do miss those IR outputs on phones, back when I had to stay in hospital for a week, you had to pay $20 a day to use the TV, but with the IR output on my phone I was able to get around that.
LoL I have the same story and the nurse won't even mind
this is one of the reasons Xiaomi is still kickin nice and well, they've preserved IR blasters on (at least I think) their Redmi line
@@feedzuh my Xiaomi 11T Pro also has the IR blaster :) my previous phones like Xiaomi Mi10T Lite and the Redmi Note 7, all of them had, which is great :)
Xiaomi devices still have IR blaster. While Apple remove features every year.
@@rayirth.upside-down They not paid engoth to care XD
My dad still uses the Tab S and I've always wondered how could it be opened up as it was so damn thin! It was like way thinner than my iPad 4 back in 2014. I've switched to a newer iPad but he still uses the Tab S , it's still going strong.
This video shows how to open it ruclips.net/video/VnUEMyDs27I/видео.html
I just revived my tab s. And its still good for light gaming or youtube, but not good for vlc or anything more than light browsing. Still pretty nice display though
I mean, DankPods has a 4th gen ipad thats still kicking from his Uni days. Lived a life through Uni, being a teaching tool, his mom for cooking and facebook, and now a surface for stuff to scream at and smash with the 1 Grit.
Apple product's made to be not long lasting. No matter how you took a great care of it, you would get a system update which make your device getting slow and worse. Try to fix it cost nearly a price of new one and by not updating could prevent you to use some newer app.
It's their strategy to milk people keep buying their product. I don't know what's wrong with their quality but i saw who broke their cable mostly always lightning type. Still i admit their camera and processor are great but not for the battery.
I also have a tab s and its display is beautiful
I love how people are able to sell things that most of us would consider e-waste.
I mean, if they had just sold the logic board on its own, then it suddenly wouldn't've been considered e-waste in the slightest.
@@RandoView 🤔 build your own $150 tablet…
@@miscl_anon or.. Fix your old $150 tablet you have lying around for just $30.
@@RandoView but then you wouldn't need to buy a logic board, so they wouldn't sell a logic board...
I have broken phones the reason why i dont fix it is cos its either not worth it or its too difficult
I love the end of your videos when you say “and we’re done” soothes my brain and idrk why.
Hugh motivates to minimize e waste for sure. I always want to fix and repair the old stuff as they still do work and have so much uses still.
I miss tablets like these. They were one of the few lines of series tablets that I would willingly spend my allowances and saved up cash on when I was a kid.
Tab S8 regular/ultra is looking promising.
I think you are officially a magician, keep up the good work
I used to have this exact same tablet, when it broke and tried to get it repaired they said it wasn't worth the time and effort to get it repaired 😄
Typical response from the service centres now a days, they are only bothered about making more bucks than repairing items.
6:38 it's good to know that Xiaomi and some other manufacturers (maybe?) still include IR Blaster on their smartphone
My Redmi Note 9 still does.
A goddamn 150€ phone does have it but not the latest flagships... Why
I came here looking for this comment! My 10T Pro still has it.
I love the way he says "And we're done", his voice sounding quite serious when commentating his restoration it feels like a warm smile at that point😊! Great job!
I was not expecting the sponsorship bit about pulling glass from your foot with tweezers. 😂😂😂
He definitely underestimated hugh’s power 😏
@PC Gamer noted 👍🏻
Well, you are a magician for tech repair
It’s so satisfying to watch your videos. Your work is impeccable, your camera angle is always perfect, and you make everything look so easy! I wish you lots of success with your channel for many years to come!!
Hugh after this repair
You know I'm something of a magician myself 🎩
It's amazing that you have access to order all that small spare parts online.
Some countries have the most impossible costumes that delay and charge extra expenses 😢
Your commitment is special Hugh, I'm always excited for your new videos.
As Always, Top Class Content.
Thank you Hugh Jeffreys.
Seller: Only a magician could fix this monstrosity.
Hugh after five isopropyl alcohol squirts: So this is it...
Like any electronics, if the main board is good (or repairable), it's always salvageable.
Great repair and restoration. I honestly doubted that it was even possible given the state it was in when you first got it. There's no way that such repairs would be possible on a more modern device.
And yes, I do remember the days when it was good to have SD card slots and headphone jacks! I never made use of IR blasters, though.
Furthermore, I do believe there is a good market for new, but cheaper, tablets, since they tend to come with a newer version of Android than the maximum version that older flagships support. If this only supports Android 6.0 (officially), it's not a good purchase, since Android 6.0 is quite old now and is really the minimum required to install most apps nowadays. Further, a custom ROM really isn't worth it just to get one more Android version of support installed.
Well put
ruclips.net/user/shorts6D5JwxIuYG8?feature=share
You can even get Android 11 on some non-flagship Android phones like the J5 2015 via. custom roms. It's more like 5 extra versions of Android, not just 1.
There is no difference in the possibility of restoring this old hunk of junk or restoring a brand new S22 in the same condition. He just replaced basically every single part except the main board and the battery. The same could be done to a S22 or an iPhone 13 Pro and both would work fine.
true, a new budget tablet would be good for security as it run current android/ios. but if you use tablet for media consumption, old tablet like the one on video is better since it had oled screen.
I use the exact same tablet, but I've been itching to buy a budget xiaomi tablet (mi pad 5). the reason is because the old tablet is slow, and can't multitask much. but I decide to not buy new one since I don't really need one.
the bad thing about this tablet is it had plastic frame which is really easy to get chipped, you can't play current game, and doing work in this tablet is limited and not recommended.
for me, appealing reason to buy a new tablet is fast-charging, cpu power, more refresh rate, and good steel/aluminum frame.
5:38 was that a callout to LTT? I completely agree with that statement
Spoiler Alert: He watch Linus Tech Tips
The Tab S series is great! I have the 8in version. The Amoled screen looks great!
Seller: “Only a magician can fix it.”
Hugh: “Call me F*cking Merlin.”
I still remember when phones had the radio app. Also I got a now phone on december and it still has an IR blaster, it's useful to have it
Very nice restoration Hugh
hugh is a magician !
I love this channel. I don't know why really; I'll never really do this myself. It's just cool that you provide such a cool breakdown for fixing these devices that I could never provide. And for that I thank you.
nice video hugh! im fixing a huge lot of thinkpads and desktops at the moment, you inspired me to get into repairs i just wanted to say thank you with all my heart, keep doing what your doing and inspire many more people :)
i usually dont skip the sponsors from you, and here i havent, that tweezer part caught me off guard haha
Good save. I am watching this video on my (pristine) Tab S. It gets used every day and the display is as crisp and bright, with rich colours, as the day I got it. Love this thing.
Those results look amazing, wow!
Beautiful transformation.
I think you are the best repair magician I have ever seen! You never fail to amaze me by what you can repair and how far gone somethings are that you save from the recycle bin! many thanks for sharing! Ps in Scotland you would be called Shug Jeffreys lol
Morning Hugh thank you so much for the great videos 😄
Looks like you are a magician Hugh! Great video bud. 👍🇬🇧
Wow for the work and the patience
I anticipate your video every week
So soothing
It’s 7months and I just want you to know that your content is very interesting yet very neat! ❤ Love your videos!
At least you got this beauty up and running again. ❤❤❤
You gave this beautiful device from a good manufacturer so much love and heartily repaired the tablet that can only give a like
Wish I could also do this on my own. What an amazing skills you have!
Great fix Hugh
This tablet design brings me back!
You're a wizard, Hugh!
It was amazing to see that you could restore the device, good job
That's an impressive repair. Good job. 👍👍
Thanks Alot You Make a Video on Samsung TAB I Love Your Content
id love to see more videos with Hugh adding more custom roms to make these older devices more up to date and viable for use
this is why Samsung default locking bootloaders on their newer devices pisses me off, many old phones, even some as old as five years old can still shrug off 90% of apps if given a fresh custom install of android. This is very hard or near impossible to do with a locked bootloader and creates e-waste.
Try Lineage OS, it supports many older devices
That's interesting. I'm watching this video on that exact tablet. It's pretty slow nowadays but the screen is still beautiful so it's great for video watching.
Elleriniz harika çalışıyor. videolarınız seyrederek aydınlanıyoruz .
holy shit, that was amazing. It looks absolutely BRAND NEW now. awesome work!
Nice work man
I love to see old tech being fixed🥳😝👍🏽
Love your work!
Love your videos mate! And your country is simply amazing!t
This has got to be the best tablet ever built by Samsung, as it has so many features, and it was the first Samsung tablet ever to have an oled screen.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, one of my favorites. 🤣
Nice video Hugh
Seller: Only A Magician Could Fix This
Hugh Jeffreys: hold my iFixit
Watching this on that exact same tablet. I had it for I don't know maybe 8 years now. Battery still holds charge for hours and the screen is amazing with each individually illuminated pixel for truly black, dark areas.
This is my dream tablet way back from 2015-16 instead i got an Ipad 4 which still run up to this day! Would love to buy one for ebook reading.
great job brother👍
Love ur video and ur work repairing 💛💛💛💛 Jeffery sir
Magician extraordinaire at work! Nice!
I had one of this for some time and it was great. Not as powerful as an iPad but the screen was spectacular and the speakers quite good, one at each side for proper stereo. Passed it to my mother and she still uses it in 2022, which is remarkable as it was launched in 2014. It runs Android 6 so some apps are starting to fall off support (IKEA app that I remember) but the thing is still great for multimedia.
Biggest problem with this tablets is that the beautiful amoled screen is expensive to replace, so if it breaks the tablet becomes “totalled” and the user will just buy a whole new tablet.
So satisfying!
Hugh Jeffreys professional tech wizard.
I just replaced the touch digitizer on an ipad 6th gen and I can tell that that tablet is so much easier to work on from this video. Also your a wizard Jeffreys
Seller: Only a magician can fix this...
Hugh: It sounds like a challenge, lets fix it.
Hey, Im a great fan of your iphone restoration playlist , you make awesome edited videos , i just love you bringing broken stuff back in use . Could you or anyone in here tell me how do you make your image move so smoothly when you display the broken device to be restored in the beginning of video ? Do you move your camera/phone or you do it with editing ?? I cant figure it out!!!!
This is amazing video with a lot of great helpful works very you.
This video gives me the warm fuzzies. IR blasters, etc... These were interesting days in tech.
I love your videos thank you so much 😊
The Band aid look on the back makes me recall my Galaxy S7, I think it was. Great and seemingly impossible restoration of a Galaxy Tab, great job Sir.
It's the S5
@@adityanarayansreejith9362 Was it the S5? Holy crap that seems like a long time ago. LOL!!!!
"Remember when phones and tablets used to come with those?"
Me: Laughs in Xiaomi
laughs in having no xiaomi spyware
Hey Hugh i like your vids an i think i watched all of them
You don't deliver to UK?
I live in the UK
wouldn't mind buying used phones or tablets if i know you're the one fixing them so perfectly! 😍
I believe that Hugh Jeffreys Store now also ships to the UK, though the prices displayed on the store page are in AUS $. So you'd have to convert from AUD to GBP.
@@TheSpotify95 Exactly, he now ships to the uk but you will have to convert the price to your currency.
I always liked how these look
Nice job 👍
I love you work you so professional
From the days when a battery replacement was snap the back off and remove a couple of screws.
We have really gone backwards.
I really dont know if Hugh can see my comment but I'm really amaze on what he is doing. I wish I could also repair my Samsung S9 as well to him. I'm a big fan from the Philippines.
I still have one in my possession. We still use it as a TV Tablet in the living room to control the Chromecast and stream on it.
I love you and all of your videos
I am impressed!!
I absolutely love this tablet I remember buying mine off gumtree for $80 back in 2016 (keep in mind that was absolute bargain back then) I kept that tablet for 3 years but then it started to show its age and then I decided to upgrade to the Tab S3. I didn't really like the 4:3 ratio so immediately went to the Tab S4.
S4 its still a beast
I have 2 found very cheap 140€ and 50€
Now I'm looking to find again a bargain but for S6 (not lite)
@@marians6490 Tab S4 is the last one they made with a headphone jack. Kinda important if your car's bluetooth audio is laggy, so when you connect your phone/tablet via bluetooth the audio ends up lagging behind the video.
my first tablet exactly! it was a dream to use for a long time but unfortunately it is a pain now. it was arguably the best tablet ever made at the time of its release.
AMAZING VIDEO
You’re a wizard, Hugh
Hagrid busts into your house: You're a wizard Hugh! :D
Android 4 was my favorite. It's what my Nexus 7 ran on and that tablet was amazing for its time.
you're a wizard, Hugh.

Wow great fix I have that tablet (I have an iPad now) but still works
Sir, you stated crack out our new screen. I would never say crack and screen in the same sentence. Great video sir.
So many memories with this tablet, repaired hundreds of them...
I have still like this Tablet I used always for Module in school.
Hey mate , would really appreciate if you can post the links from where you have purchased the spare parts for the tablet. I have the same tablet, same colour and the same problem, cracked screen and middle frame. Keep up the good work.
