PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS. It is simple. You swipe your card and there is a pre authorization. Then, at the end of the business day, all the credit card transactions are sent to the processor via a gateway in what is called a batch. For some odd reason, this batch was not being processed for a very large amount of time. I would think the administrator of the merchant account (the owner) or the financial institution providing the merchant account would have noticed the batches were not being processed. I am not sure how this went so long. However, these customers need to shut up, honestly. Whether it was charged now or 6 months ago, they still owe the money for the fuel purchase. So now they want free gas and the gas station to refund all those fuel purchases? They would go out of business.
All of this can be avoided very easily , use your bank card only at the bank , pay in cash for everything . Electronic payments of any kind are not 100% safe , also when using plastic cards or paying with a phone you are causing retail inflation.
