I love the way you incorporate branches in your arrangements. This is the first time I’ve heard that amaryllis need fertilizer. What formulation is best? Thanks.
I buy glass vases from my local grocery store when the tulip bulbs die (very cheap for vase and bulbs). I then use that vase and plastic insert and sit my bulb right above the water. Works great!
I bought apple blossom 2 yrs ago, it's never bloomed yet, if I don't see buds this yr, it's compost. I bought picotee last yr, it was beautiful, fingers crossed it does well this yr. I bought 3 beauties online that just arrived, I'm planting them together with small pecan branches for support, to copycat you. Thanks too, for showing the roots sit above the water.
Hi Yulia, Just wanted to say, I look forward to all your beautiful garden videos. I love your garden style and plant choice. I loved seeing your parent’s garden too. Always look forward to your holiday bulb planting, indoor bulb projects and decor. My all time favourite is your magnificent Spring garden with your Kwanzan 🍒 tree blossoming and all your tulips; it’s utterly breathtaking!!!🌳🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌳 Thanks for doing all you do and sharing with us all. Hi Yuliya thanks for the video on this process, it’s really helpful. I love amaryllis but only had leaf growth for the pass two years. My bulbs have never bloomed so I am interested in trying them again this year with the addition of fertilizing the bulbs. What fertilizing products do you use? Is it liquid fertilizer? Your plant room is incredible! 😍 Love from NJ💕
Oh how great!! Chalily is right up the street from me!! When I saw that name I thought that looks familiar 😂 That’s wonderful!! Can’t wait to see how they do in water!! Love your videos❤
right video, right ontime! I found amaryliss for $9 at tractor supply and am going back for one for a gift and another one for me. Minwe is not planted but on top of another pland and grwoing. I didnt realize they were so easy!
Hello Yulia, is been a bit since I commented. Life just gets a bit complex and there is not enough hours in a day, I’m sure you know how that it. But I did want to thank you for your previous years showing us your many amaryllis, that started a love for me. Even this year with no time, I ran into the waxed ones, I wouldn’t do it this way if time wasn’t an issue. Couple of years ago I even planted a lot for Christmas gifts. This year I was in a Home Depot for insulation and went in thru the garden area and they had the waxed half priced. I got three and they were beautiful (white) for Christmas, which was great because I couldn’t even gather for Christmas because I had the flu.🤷🏻♀️ Thank you!💗☺️
I have never been able to get them to rebloom. No matter what I do. I let the foliage go yellow, put them in a dark dry place during winter. Then I bring them out ,repot them and water them and they never rebloom. All I get is foliage. Enough, all eight of the bulbs are going into my compost pile.
Great video. I have some small bulbs I rescued a few years ago with no flowers. It never dawned on me to fertilize them weekly!! Thank you. Maybe I will have flowers next year. lol
Yuli! I’m Juli! I love your videos! Thank you! Please, the Amaryllis bulb you dug out of the garden? Did yours have leaves? Do I leave them? Cut them off? Hellllp! In Tucson, Az. 🌵🌵🌵🌵 zone 9
I have just a couple of. Amaryllis and with any luck will get another this year. I absolutely love your collection and the way you display when their in bloom. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤️😊
Thank you for all the information and a very helpful video! can you please tell me what kind of soil do you used and what kind of fertilizer? Thank you.
I grew some in water the last couple years. They were in a vase with gravel. The bulb sits on the gravel and the water is below the bulb a 1/2 inch or so. I got these as kits but it should be easy to do yourself.
I'm in Sydney Australia and i'm confused by the idea you need to force Amaryllis to re-bloom. I have about 25 bulbs and they are planted in two wine barrels outside. I started with seven bulbs and they have multiplied over the last nine years or so. I have only dug them up once to seperate them into two pots when they got over crowded. Mine bloom every year without me doing anything except water them through late winter into spring until flowers die back. Sydney does have a temperate climate though. Is digging them up each year about the temperature where you live? Intrigued!
I usually pull out the bulbs, cut the roots & leaves air-dry them before putting them into dormancy. This way you get to check the basal plate to see if it's overgrown.
I ordered my first Amaryllis from Eden Brothers. Their instructions were to plant and but in a 60 degree room and wait for growth to appear and then put in a sunny window. You do that right away. What do you think is best?
So we have an amaryllis, it bloomed very nicely a few months ago, then the flowers died out, I cut the stalks down, then put the it in dormancy. Allowed the leaves to die out, a few weeks later the 2 leafs were brown and dried, but a new leaf was growing, so I cut the dead ones out, and brought out of dormancy. Two leafs have grown to a massive size, but so far no flower stalks have started to grow. Will that take time, or should I put the plant back into dormancy and try again in 2-3 months?
Oh looks so pretty I tried overwintering mine last year but when I went to pull in out was all mush but bought a new double white called Donner have you tried that one that’s for sharing your vide
Question, if my red Amaryllis only grew leaves when I brought it out of dormancy flour can this plant ever bloom again if I put it back in the dark for a while?
It is probably taking a year off, or maybe there was not enough dormancy, but if it has leaves already I would let it grow this season, soak up the sun and let it bloom next year
Question Yuliya, your bulb that was growing outside, does it need cool dark period in order to bloom or will it still bloom without that period? I got my very first amaryllis bulbs last year and right now they are sitting in a little storage room we have in our garage but it is not very cool there, I am zone 6b. BTW, I love your amaryllis varieties, they are beautiful 😀
A few of my bulbs the green foliage just started to lay down. They have been potted for about 4 weeks. Any advice as to why foliage would suddenly fall. Thank you
Thanks so much for featuring us Yuliya! Can't wait to see your amaryllis grow and the arrangements you do this year!
I love the way you incorporate branches in your arrangements. This is the first time I’ve heard that amaryllis need fertilizer. What formulation is best? Thanks.
You are the Amaryllis Queen 👸- can’t wait to see how they turn out!

❤Love the plant room! These flowers will be amazing! What type of fertilizer do you use for them?
Great timing ,what kind of fertilizer do you use ?
Perfect timing I just brought my 2 bulbs in today, didn’t know they needed a deep watering or fertilizer. Thanks!

Very beautiful! You inspired me to start growing Amaryllis now on my third year enjoying them. Thanks

Thank you for the coupon code! I am trying a few new varieties out.
You do make beautiful arrangements. What do you fertilize them with?
Thanks Yuliya 🦃🍁🍂💚🙃
I love your plant room!

Absolutely gorgeous 🥰🥰

Yes! That’s a great tip! My bulbs are pretty young so the basal plates are not overgrown but I will start doing that as it accumulates
Could you please tell why you fertilize your bulbs? I’ve only ever heard that you do not fertilize bulbs. They have all they need inside the bulb.
Excited to see the results 😀

What kind of fertilizer do you use on the bulbs?
I have bulbs in pots that I summer on my deck. I then bought them in. Do I need to repot them? This is there 2 nd year

Cool is not as necessary as dry. Dry and slightly cooler for 10 weeks is perfect. Then pot up, water and wait for blooms 😊
@@ydoyougarden Thank you so much for this info! I will be taking them out of dormancy pretty soon here 😀 Can't wait to see blooms!
What fertilizer do you use?
A few of my bulbs the green foliage just started to lay down. They have been potted for about 4 weeks. Any advice as to why foliage would suddenly fall. Thank you
Not enough light, and possibly too warm. I really find once they start growing they prefer cooler temps - 65-72. Very bright light!
You’re the first person I’ve heard say to fertilize amyrillis. Maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong.
Yes oce beatyfuul ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤tq bos ku ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤
Have you seen soaking bulbs in water for 12 to 24 hours before you pot them up . Supposed to get faster blooms....! 😊
Beautiful collection!!
