This was great. I almost always mix 2 lipstick colors together to get the right shade for the day, depending on the mood my skin is in and what color I am wearing that day.
Thank you for this video! I would love to see the contents of your makeup bags. Especially you Lucinda! I’m a soft summer and find it difficult to source soft/cool/neutral shades.
Can you give examples of lipstick brands and shade names of the #2 and #3 Soft shades? I'm a 64 yr old soft summer who is having trouble finding lipsticks to complement my fading coloring. I wear Lancome blush in Aplum. Thank you
I'm so glad I've arrived here. Your channel is amazing. Recently got my PCA done and I'm very overwhelmed with what where why especially that I'm an olive tone true winter. And all the makeup I used to prefer and enjoy leaned heavily medium warm and soft. And so going to the other side has me scared haha. I've watched about 5 of your videos and I can say I have far better understanding now. Thank you so much
Thank you for this video! I had my colors done in the 80s and had them redone this year. Turns out, I am not a spring - I am a cool. Seeing the less ideal lipstick colors shows me why the warm never felt right. Love my mauves now and wear lipstick frequently
I know you're not in the business of reviewing makeup (I know you have to purchase them, etc so there's a cost!), but wow it would be helpful if you add regular seasonal reviews of more makeup brands to your roster. Loved your Elf and Rare Beauty lip reviews. I have a hard time finding shades that work with my neutral/warm true autumn complexion, and it's almost impossible to tell from online swatches what will work. Lipsticks have a lot of different undertones and many of the mainstream ones just don't work on me. I love the Merit lipsticks because you can control the saturation, and baby, slip, cabo and tiger are my favorite shades. I would love it if someone could do a seasonal analysis of the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks. Or in the affordable range, the peripera ink the velvet lip tint in well made nude or calm rosy work on me. Your lipstick shades always look fabulous on both of you!
Could you please at some point do a video on how to select makeup when you’re in the store. I’ve been studying color theory for a bit now and still struggle when in a store to confidently select a color. Do you have any tips for this? I’m getting better and am able to identify a decent amount of colors that absolutely don’t work but still All the trial and error can be expensive and wasteful. Thank you for another wonderful video.
Thank you for presenting the 6 dominant characteristics. I am a former autumn with gray hair but not quite a summer. I am looking forward to future videos.
Hi. You're probably a "soft". You're similar with the lady from "my over 50 fashion life". She was an autumn in her younger days. She got reanalysed and now she's a soft (soft autumn/ soft summer). You may want to check out her channel too.
I enjoy your videos, thank you. Your channel is the best for learning the full spectrum. I have one suggestion, though. When you make the background colour the same as the lip colour (in this case), it seems to fool the eye to make the difference even more stark. I'd love to see the same pictures with a neutral background so that we can see the effect of the lip colour. It's all about subconscious bias.
I’m beginning to like the tonal system better than the seasonal color system. I just bought lipstick in colors represented in the Soft category that you show here, and love the way they look. They’re extremely close to my natural lip color.
This deep dive into expanded color analysis is perfectly timed for me. I'm looking to update my wardrobe this fall/winter and want to add some more color to my grays and blacks❤
For my big 45th birthday I joyfully asked to have color analysis done. I loved it! I have always loved color, paint, and the nuances of makeup shades (even though I wear only a touch of makeup) It seems that even within the 4/6/12/16 pallet systems there is this idea promoted that specific companies are, let’s say… “more right” than their counterparts. Naturally, as a good student of life, I wanted to learn and understand (and master) how it all works. But there is so much that differs between systems! Even the idea of harmony differs between some of the more well known color analysis companies. Something I’ve enjoyed by finding this channel is your relaxed stance on everything. I love when you say “ISH”. I love that if you are a soft, cool and warm aren’t as strong of an indicator for you. I love that if you are light, that’s what you focus on first. Now, I do love the nuances of the 12/16 pallets bc everything subtly shifts into focus a little more as the combinations of the traits begin to blend. (Soft, warm, deep etc) It creates the lenses that set the tone of a photograph so to speak. But, thank you for being more relaxed in your presentation of how color interacts with our own human coloring. Thank you for wanting it to be something people can understand and work with rather than some secret formula that you have to pay a lot for. It’s a magical glimpse into where something special truly comes alive inside all of us. And I love it!
As a winter in the 4 palette and obviously a clear in the 6 palette I hope it won’t be too difficult to figure out what I’m in the 12 palette I’ll guess either clear winter or bright winter. ❄️
Great video! I’ve only recently discovered my season. I always thought I was a spring but some many of the colors didn’t really work for me. I think I may have been a spring as a child. As for the past 20 years, I should have taken a clue from my husband who calls me “his peach” and “my softness.” It wasn’t my peach fuzz and pudge. Nope, he saw a woman who was a fair neutral with soft and warmish features. Autumn has always been my happy season. Now I know why.
Hi. I suggest to try the palettes of warm autumn & soft autumn. I'm guessing that you're more of soft autumn if you're a "peach". (btw I I've the peach fuzz color of this year - I bought cloth & made it into curtains - made me happy!)
I have rosacea and am a soft dominant season. I Struggle with determining my undertones due to being soft and having rosacea. Could you do a video on how skin conditions impact color season? I’ve not seen much content about skin conditions and color season.
Great video, ladies! I had been wondering if I could be an Autumn, albeit changing towards Summer, and have a cool undertone. Knowing that Sara is a cool-toned Autumn is reassuring. 😊
Hi. I think you're more of a soft autumn (and maybe transitioning to soft summer). I looked at your channel & I liked you more in the softer colors. 😊Sorry, didn't like you too much in black & the dark purple - I think they were too dark for you.
Love the video and your outfits, and makeup, looking so gorgeous and pretty. You are really copies of each other, so alike. Taylor is a light spring, so a bright season, just think the color is a little deep for her but it still works because it's like a coral, I wonder if she is actually that light or if she's actually close to true, or maybe light springs can just wear brights
Excellent class! As a cool soft person, it is not easy to find cool based lip colors. As blue is the most expensive color, brands tend to make warmer tones and lip colors with warm undertones look terrible on my skin. Please! Share some brands and shades suggestions for cool and soft people!
It is interesting to see some examples of deep or clear with not dark hair, say like Kate winslet. I am winter and have dark eyes, eyebrows but my hair is blonde so struggle to find some examples what lipstick and colours better for winter/bronde
Could you give examples of soft lipsticks. Special the middle number of soft number 3 neutral pink and the bright lipstick red ik possible? And which we can buy in Europe. Thanks looking forward to the net video.
Thank you for the video! I am still confused what I am. Maybe that is also because it is difficult to look at yourself in the mirror and just see the reality 😂 anyway your videos are so much fun
Would love to see you show Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks for each group. They offer so many colors, they're inexpensive, and they aren't fragranced. I hear you on them getting rid of your perfect color lipstick just after you find it or worse, it's on clearance. Revlon or maybe just all of the local stores in my state no longer carry Plumalicious. I know it looks purple-ish in all the swatches, but it's not and on me, it looks like my lips but better. I wish swatches were more accurate. So many wrong lipsticks because of swatches.
Can’t wait for the next video I just found out I’m a light spring and it’s been difficult finding clothes and makeup for this palette!! Maybe you can give some tips on where to shop? Thx 🙏
You are so right! Very difficult to shop for light spring which is what I used to be. Now I’m somewhat of a soft autumn as far as I can tell! Also very difficult. I would say to focus on medium denim blue and khaki colors, maybe ivory for neutrals and then sometimes you just have to wait it out to find the right colors to add in. Corals can sometimes be found at this time of the year. It can often be a matter of a color being too bright for me. I have one bright blue one that I recently purchased -- I thought it was periwinkle in the store -- so now I am washing it on hot to soften the color down. Seems to be working 🙂

You both have such a tasteful way of describing the “wrong” colors. That alone made me a subscriber
Do you know what lipsticks you've sampled there under "soft"? Not that I don't have plenty of lip products, but I'm always looking for more.
Very helpful ladies, thanks!

Would you consider doing something like this for nail polish. I find if I get my nails even slightly wrong my hands look dead.
The colour you put on Courtney cox in the RHS picture, I’ve bought something very similar recently.

Are you both still in the cosmetic industry? Nosey me wants to know what you do? Do you work at a lab? Also, great video! Can clears ever wear a nude?
I have always thought Taylor's makeup looks off. Lips and all
Hi ladies, what about the background. I notice it changes color?

Coral is neutral. It’s pinkish orange. Why doesn’t anyone talk about coral?
