When my uncle and brother passed away in the same year, I came across this song. I remember crying so hard after hearing it for the first time. There's something about this song that makes me feel like they're with me, comforting me, even if it'll only be temporary. This song feels like a warm, comforting hug that I never thought I needed.
I literally have the same experience. My uncle passed away in December and when he was getting sicker, I came across this song and I got so emotional. I still listen to it anytime I want to feel closer to him.
Honestly, this song is immaculate. Abandoning familiar singer-songwriter structure, forcing you to fall into the story it is yearning to tell. The lyrics at first glance are wayward but soon reach their destination when examined as an entire poem. It is when that gorgeous pathos of a string section begins that whatever emotion that wasn't explored during the verses gets codified with meticulous and visceral phrasing. This boy is 21 and has seemingly seen the world through a lens far beyond his years. This song is paint and we are the canvas; part of a perniciously heartbreaking but inviting album. A true talent.
at 3:00, amazing how these arrangements always manage to bring me not only tears, but a unique feeling that I've never felt with any other song, the feeling that everything will be fine, it doesn't matter the situation, eternity is our way
I just saw him live last week. His sound and voice were exceptional. He did not slip up once while he was playing the piano switching out playing guitars jumping around just pouring his little heart out sounding no different than studio except of course only better because of the live factor. Pure talent I love him so much

Rex really captures the feeling of living through the transitions of life with the people/person you love. He makes you feel how lucky we can be in life with the people we are with and how we can be better version ourselves not only for them,, but also for our own sake. While life happens and when your effort can seem like they're always never enough, all it takes is just a 10/10 album for you to be inspired now to make decisions you couldn't before because you never had the balls.

This song explores the speaker's contemplation of their role as a protector and the uncertainty about its significance. There's a theme of a perpetual show, with references to a projector and an everlasting encore. The lyrics also express a desire for enduring connections, especially as the years pass. The speaker feels at home when surrounded by loved ones and reflects on the joy of growing older together. There's a recognition of not fully understanding oneself, with a hope that understanding may come in time. The song conveys a mix of introspection, longing for lasting connections, and the comfort of being understood by someone who knows the speaker's darkness and secrets. Really, a great masterpiece of a song. Salute rex!
September 2024 and am still going back to this classic. Hiphop has always been my genre, but Rex's music is so good and he is one of the few artists that I listen to outside of hiphop. I got introduced to his music by randomly listening to Happiness a couple of years back and have been hooked since. Great talent fr
Dude I watched this live and it was literally magical Everyone just went quiet and swayed and it was just beautiful He also said I love you back to me🥺
Can’t wait to be in the same room as him when he sings this in concert 🥺 Edit: thank you guys so much for the likess, im feeling the love in this fandom wowow
I just think you are the most incredible artist. The journey you take me on makes me feel utterly complete. Like crystal shards of sound, every note just exactly where it should be and what it should be. Thank you for colouring in for us what we instinctively know to be there.
2:56 before that last note until the violins starts gave meee shivers down my spine because I didn’t expect it. And I know this is a love song. But when the violins starts. I think back to my grandpa. He passed away a year and half ago, I think back to when he said I will be old enough to understand the feeling of lost. That was the year he passed away. I didn’t cry the first time, but I cried when I heard the LIVE at Radio City on Spotify. Bc it hit different. Thanks for listening!
Don’t get me wrong this is my favorite song rn and it’s beautiful but Idk I feel like this is more of a funeral song in my opinion. Totally up to you 😀

September 2024 and am still going back to this classic. Hiphop has always been my genre, but Rex's music is so good and he is one of the few artists that I listen to outside of hiphop. I got introduced to his music by randomly listening to Happiness a couple of years back and have been hooked since. Great talent fr
Dude
I watched this live and it was literally magical
Everyone just went quiet and swayed and it was just beautiful
He also said I love you back to me🥺
wow🥺
Can’t wait to be in the same room as him when he sings this in concert 🥺
Edit: thank you guys so much for the likess, im feeling the love in this fandom wowow

The chord progression at the end is literally the most beautiful one I've heard in my life.
This sounds just so comforting and warm.
That outro makes me feel like I’m going to heaven

Late af… but same

steady beats paired with vocals and some other instruments, absolutely genius
IDK HOW MANY TIMES I REPEAT THIS PERFORMANCE, STILL, AMAZING.
When he said "the great protector, is that what im supposed to be" i felt that
that “I’ll do the same” and “old enough to understand” am dying for.
I just think you are the most incredible artist. The journey you take me on makes me feel utterly complete. Like crystal shards of sound, every note just exactly where it should be and what it should be. Thank you for colouring in for us what we instinctively know to be there.
This may be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard.
yes
I think Rex has a way of singing his songs in a way that you feel like you’ve know him for years
Exactly!
every time I listen to this song, my heart strings start to pull 😩 amazing artist with just as amazing lyrics.
i’m really considering sneaking out for his concert
Did you? 😂

Honestly, one of the best songs I have ever listened to.👌🏻😄
Pure Passion and Pure Talent.
loving is easy, best friend, and pluto projector are my happiness.
Best part @2:30 . The guitar solo then comes the amazing orchestra. Beautiful
I can’t hear this because I’m in class but I can already tell it’s going to be amazing, love you Alex and it was incredible seeing you live 🥺🥺
His music gives me the chills ... he sings with so much passion. He looks like he gets lost in his own music, it’s beautiful.
its been great all this years rex orange county until nextime
Look, I’m not typically a marriage person, but fuck, if I was then this needs to play at my wedding.
i think this isn't for wedding events
@@nleosala Music can be used for anything :)
Don’t get me wrong this is my favorite song rn and it’s beautiful but Idk I feel like this is more of a funeral song in my opinion. Totally up to you 😀
@@broxtoncook1828 I see where you’re coming from, In my opinion it gives be both wedding and funeral vibes lol

Can we take a moment to appreciate that he is only 21
I get goosebumps and tears no matter how many times I listen to this song. It’s so comforting to me. Thank you Alexander for sharing such an emotional and meaningful price with us.
3:30 actual chills everytime
Best part
This is shot so fucking well, holy shit
Thanks to the algorythms I found hope in a lost world of continuously repeat beats and tempos plugged together with bars that make ones ears bleed, this is a breath of fresh 21st century air.
Thanks ROC my faith in humanity has been restored. Bravo!!! 👏
When the orchestra kicks in I wanna cry it’s so amazing

I'm going to see this beautiful king in concert with my loving girlfriend. I'm so lucky to be in a time where we have so much incredible music to help make life worth it, and push us to succeed. Rex helps us appreciate life and deserves to be praised 🙏❤❤
ive listened to this hundreds of times, seen it live, and i still get chills everytime i listen to it wtf
just heard this dude for the first time, last week. everything about this dude inspires me... his style, his voice, his gorgeousness... i was gifted an old piano ( coming soon to me) and i can guarantee his music will be on loop until i learn to write a song that is a fraction as good!!!
