  • I do a discharge test and confirm the Battery has lost 50% capacity in two years even though it has only had a small amount of use (two weeks running a car fridge)

Lithium iron phosphate (Lifepo4) is the answer! They are rugged and durable in a car, very safe compared to lithium ion as in electric scooters.
I've got a Megalife lithium as my cranking battery and to run the fridge and lights in the back (no room for a dual setup) It charges right off the alternator no problem and has a backup cell built in to start the car if I run the main storage flat. 2 years going strong, literally the only downside is initial outlay.

I have been doing a bit of research 🧐into them the Lifepo4 is the front runner I have a concern about the operating temperature yesterday it was 38C outside and 70C inside my car. Some specs say thermal cutout at 40C on the BMS, I have probably another year left in the AGM just running the camp lights and camera charging so will see what pans out regards Mike
