JBL Live Pro+ TWS Honest Review | DO NOT BUY THESE (AT RETAIL PRICING)

  • The JBL Live Pro+ TWS are NOT earbuds that you should buy at retail price. They are currently listed at $179 USD on Amazon, which is $30 USD more than the latest version of these earbuds (Live Pro 2). When I recorded this, the Live Pro 2's were listed for $99 USD. I suppose they will soon return to that price point, but as of the moment of uploading, they are back to their retail price of $149 USD.
    After trying out these Live Pro Plus TWS for a few weeks, using them at work, at the gym, and around the home. I've come to the conclusion that these earbuds are horribly priced because the first generation AirPods Pro are the same price and are MILES better than these earbuds. If you want to save your money or get more value for your money, get the Airpods Pro 1st Gen instead, the JBL Live Pro 2 TWS, or the JBL Tune230 NC TWS.

    Your review is funny 😂 I got the 230NC and they are the WORST. People couldn’t hear me talking if it wasn’t fully quiet. The treble is bad, the noice canceling is bad. I returned them for the Live Pro+ and they are 3 times as good. People can hear me clearly even when biking, sound is a lot better, no bad connections anymore. The noise canceling completely filters out the noise of my car.

      Haha had to ham it up a little. The Live Pro + aren’t terrible, it’s just their retail price that bothered me lol. I still prefer the Live Pro 2s above all of these three options. If they were all priced the same, the tune 230s definitely would be my last option. Glad you’re enjoying your Live Pro+!

    Helloo great video as always.
    Right now the live pro+ are on sale in my country and the price is very close to the 230nc (about USD 15 more than 230nc).
    So if they were to be the same price, would you say that live pro+ are better?
    I can see that battery and the case design according to you is better on the 230nc. But what about the sound quality and microphone quality??

    • @ardentlytech
      @ardentlytech  Год назад +2

      Yes absolutely! I much prefer the form factor of the Live Pro+ over the Tune 230. And they also have slightly better sound overall. So for the same price I would certainly choose the Live Pro+ over the Tune 230 despite battery life.

    hi, Can you do a loudness comparison between jbl 230 nc and jbl live pro plus? I also use live pro plus and there is a sizzling problem that persists for 1-2 seconds when the sound stops. When not listening to music and especially chatting, it comes after the message tones. did you have a problem like this too?

    • @ardentlytech
      @ardentlytech  Год назад +1

      I did not have that problem when I had the Live Pro +. And I don’t have that problem with my Live Pro 2.
      Unfortunately I can do a test on the live pro + and Tune 230 I decided to sell/ return those and just keep my Live Pro 2. I suspect the live pro + would out perform the 230s

      When their prices are that close, I would lean towards the JBL life pro plus. I would still advocate for the JBL live pro 2 if there are available where you are at a similar price. Otherwise the live pro plus is a great option for that price point. But if you want a longer battery life in the ability to connect to more than one device. You should probably look elsewhere. The buds has the best feature to stay connected with your phone even though you case them. I bought a JBL 230 NC and using them is nightmare.
    One should be lucky enough to get the buds to disconnect, as if it is in deep love with your phone. Terrible experience. Yes it has a 40 hours battery life. But the case won't initiate charging cz it won't accept the fact that you cased it. ANC is Okey, but it completely shuts down when you make a call making an outdoor call terrible. During a call mic picks every single noise except your voice. Though the sound quality is good it is totally worthless as of my 3 months used experience.

    JBL's pricing on the live Pro Plus wasnt that great. I got them in 2021 for $149 I believe when they first came out. Back then they were the best earbuds i had ever owned. Theyve served me well for 2 years and have hundreds of hours on them. The ANC and Ambient modes let in too much wind noise, but thats the only thing i can fault them for. I never tried the 230's but i dont think they're any better, they have smaller drivers and overall they're bigger in size. I recently bought the Live Pro 2 and Vibe Beam earbuds and i have to say the improvements JBL has made in recent years is really something. I can only speak for the ones I have tired and when it comes to value, the Tune 230NC are great. But I have heard great things of the Jabari Elite and the Sennheiser CX. The price you see for the live pro + are great but if your able to find the JBL live pro 2 for a similar price I would suggest getting those over the Live Pro +. As for the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 pro, that is an amazing deal! Honestly, any of these would be a decent pick up but it seems like the Sennheiser and the Galaxy Buds are the better deals given their original price point, but I don’t think you’d be disappointed with either of the JBLs either. Hope that’s a bit helpful!

    I should have watched this before buying them for 150 euros. Oh darn, it.
    I own a pair and don't recommend them because the seal tip doesn't fit and it's annoying how many connection issues it has. No auto-connect on both my PC or my phone (Samsung). Instead, go with Jabra or Samsung if you are an Android user. Also, they slip out if you make gestures like laughing and smiling which sucks. Another annoying thing is that if you use only one bud, each time you put it back in the ear it makes a connection sound, which is truly annoying. Once you go to JBL, you never go back.

      The latest model of these, JBL Live pro 2 retails for $149, so how does that make sense?

      lol I definitely had fun with this one, but my main gripe with these was their retail price. Knowing that the newer Live Pro 2 was cheaper even at its full retail price makes no sense to me. BUT what I definitely didn't convey well in this video is that if these Live Pro+ were priced lower than $100 that would feel like a better price point for them and feel more appropriate to their feature set. They are a good earbud, I just think The Live Pro 2s are better, price wise and feature wise.
