@teresa if you notice none of the proper yapese wanted to participate in dancing because according to them they cannot sing their cultural songs because only one person from their village has the right to sing the sacred chants. We RESPECTED their decision. They were asked also if they want to show at least a little part of their dances and culture but they stuck to their decision. We UNDERSTOOD and RESPECTED that as well, therefore the outer island students of COM decided this is how they they will forgo our performance. First, if ya’ll have a problem with it keep your opinions to yourselves. For promotion, your negative comment and the drama that follows after is why people would not want to visit us. Second, we are in the state of POHNPEI, not yap. Everyone at the event seemed to enjoy it and had fun, so why can’t you? We had VIP guests and COM officials attend and we did not receive any complaints from either of them, they all seemed to enjoy our performances especially the showcase about the canoe. What happens there in yap keep it that way. I, for one, am hella proud of the way we did things here. If you find it “shameful” just DON’t WATCH IT! We never asked for your opinion but thanks anyways. We worked hard for this and it went well, and i cannot express how proud I am of the YSO Students. Next time, think before you post something like this because people like me, who don’t give a fuck, will not sit back and wait for u to talk crap while we know everyone found it amusing.
