You are so right about button-up shirts Elle! As a bigger chested girl, I never wore them until this year, when I discovered how flattering "silk" ones could be. I say "silk" because none of mine are of actual silk, but they still have that beautiful soft look. A great item to look for if you anyone has the same problem!
I found your channel when I got my first office job about a year and a half ago. You have been so incredibly helpful to someone like myself who was completely new in this fashion world! Thank you for making these videos.
Excellent wok wear choices! I agree, with everything you said! I agree with many of your brands (especially Rebecca Taylor, equipment, and LK Bennett) and I would also recommend Stuart Weitzman shoes, Anne Fontaine for blouses and shells, Nanette Lepore and Theory for other work wear (all of which can be found pre-loved- often new with tags- for a fraction of the price). Thanks for another great video, there are so few of us who do work wear on youtube and you are such an inspiration for me!
The classic black turtleneck always reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. Very mid century/ sixties indeed! I really appreciate these types of videos as I am just starting my career in real estate and have never really needed to put together a classic business causal look. I look to you for inspiration in both fashion and entrepreneurship. You are one amazing boss girl!
I love to wear skirts in the summertime to the office.Dresses are very easy as well. A black pant suit is a must for my wardrobe but I prefer skirts and dresses. I'm a knitter so one of my goals this year is to knit sweaters. I actually knit scarves that go well in a cold office environment and so soft. Also I think I have tanks in all colors for layering. Definitely love your pearls I got to wear regularly as well. I've gotten alot of compliments on them.
I have 2 knit shells and they're great to layer with a cardigan or light sweater. And they never make you too warm because they're sleeveless which I love. I would also say dark, comfy closed toe shoes and well fitting pants.
I live for cardigans. I found these great ones on modcloth that have an off-center zipper and can be worn zipped or open, and - my main concern - they don't show pet hair! Also, have you done a shoe care video? All your shoes look so new still, and I've heard you mention "reconditioning" or adding a sole, but I have no idea what any of that means.
Could you do a hand wash demo for your cashmere knits and delicate blouses. What products you use and how best to maintain them to save on dry cleaning. Thank you 😊
I love this video Elle! It's sooo helpful to know what other young female professionals enjoy wearing to work! While my office is definitely business causal, I still agree with everything you mentioned here!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Kitten heels from LK Bennet are another fantastic option if you’d like something a bit more formal than flats but not as high as traditional heels. LKB has some great ones on sale. I picked up burgundy and grey recently and find them to be versatile and classic
Hello Elle, Once again, great video! 😊 It would be really interesting if you could make a "5 days of office fashion" video where you style skirts and dresses with flats only. You have a great sense of style and I'd really like to see your opinion on this subject. 😊😊😊
I would actually love a talk about tights. I've got allergies to most lycra/elastane tights, so I'm in a constant chase for cotton or acrylic ones... But it's very challenging to find ones that look good and last enough to pay out the price tag...
Hello Elle, I love the Slate heels you discussed, but I cannot ever bring myself to buy heels other than black because I feel the grey color would break the flow of the outfit too much. How do you make grey/taupe heels seem normal?
I had invested good $$ in a blazer at the start of my career it fit very beautifully in the shoulders and arms. 5 years later and 1 baby- I can barely fit one arm into it without ripping the seams.... so do keep in mind that you may either gain weight or lose weight
Hi Elle, I really admire your style. I was wondering what you think about handbags and shoes as well as other accessories in constructing an outfit. Does your handbag have to have the same color as your shoes? Or is it better to match shoes with your pants, since you will put your handbag away during office hours anyway? And does your jewelry have to match a color in your outfit or complement? How does one dress in a more casual office atmosphere without looking too dressy or too slouchy? Sorry if that was too many questions. Thank you for your reply. ❤💗
I think it’s all about complimenting rather than matching! I do still like matched handbags and shoes however, but it’s certainly not a rule in my opinion xx
Elle Florence thank you! Do you have any videos on business casual, for example for a marketing/advertising company or for a university assistant professor? If not...could you please make one?
Elle can you please continue to do more casual look books? I love your style and your weekend casual/Friday wardrobe fits my grad student Life much better than your work wear. Love your videos!!
I loved all the choices that you gave! I'm just starting my work wardrobe as I will be starting co-op soon. You look so beautiful in this video, what mascara are you wearing?
Do the Halogen pants get....frumpy and loose..around the bum when you've worn them a few times? I'm really struggling with finding pants that hold their shape!

Who else is here because of Thomas Frank? These are great tips, Elle! Thanks for making this video. I needed help constructing an office wardrobe.

I don't know if you know who she is, but you remind me so much of Nigella Lawson. She's a british chef and she's gorgeous!
I always love it when you talk about clothes. Thank you for sharing

Love these videos!! I'm a work- from-home mom transitioning back to the corporate world... really appreciate your classic, feminine style!

No demo needed, because it’s so easy! Just hand wash in baby shampoo and lie flat to dry for cashmere. I do dry clean most of my silk shirts.
Elle Florence will that work for your scarves as well or better to stick with dry cleaning?
It will work really well with my scarves but they will need a steam once dry to get rid of any creases, due to the silk content. Xx
I always keep a scarf in my desk as my offices are always cold . Sophie Shohet showed you stuff the other day
I love both of you

Great video, Elle. Excellent choices. For ballet flats, I would also suggest AGL. On sales at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack, they are very affordable.
You’re such a class act Elle. Your videos have helped me so much ❤️

I love your classic style!

Love these kind of videos! There just aren't enough of these on RUclips. Thank you!

What about a nice affordable handbag??
You’re such a stylish woman that it is a pleasure receiving any advice from you, especially clothing. 😘
Hello Elle, I love the Slate heels you discussed, but I cannot ever bring myself to buy heels other than black because I feel the grey color would break the flow of the outfit too much. How do you make grey/taupe heels seem normal?
These are fantastic basics, you can't go wrong with a good blazer
I love the green.
What lipstick shade are you wearing? Stunning!
ELLE!! You look AMAZING! Absolutely drop dead gorgeous

Interesting video! Love your lipstick.
you are just fabulous Elle
I'm also a vancouverite...for clothing alterations, who do you recommend?
I like Valetor cleaners on Seymour, ask for Anna XX
Do the Halogen pants get....frumpy and loose..around the bum when you've worn them a few times? I'm really struggling with finding pants that hold their shape!
No they don’t, because they are made of Ponte fabric which is the best in my opinion xx
