Car throttle was good when Alex was there, but I think that Alex leaving was the best thing that could’ve happened to both channels. Alex being the natural presenter that he is his best suited running his own show where he can be the main man that he wanted to be. Now with these three the dynamic is perfect. Nobody is better than each other in terms of what they can offer and they all bring something to the table, both knowledgeable and comedic. Once Mazda certified American here. We got the 2.3 miller cycle engines.
Drove a couple back in the early 2000s and they were quite fun. I'm a technical nerd too so loved the function of the Miler Cycle. I have to point out you got it a little off on the valve opening logic. The exhaust valve remains open while the crankshaft is in the first few degrees BDC to eliminate the inefficient compression action that happens from low leverage during those moments of angle. The supercharger then makes up for that loss plus a little bit more resulting in a net gain of combustibles while losing a little friction. Check out the Isky 5 cycle cams and Miller cycle engines from the 60s if you want to see the origin and some neat applications of the engineering.
Really love Mazda's propensity for the oddball engines. I'm a rotary nerd too. Sad how much Ford has messed with their reliability.

I love that they are starting to get more recognition now, my grandma has a Eunos 500 (What the Xedos 6 was sold as over here in Australia) with the beautiful 2.0L V6 Mazda K engine and oh my god I fell in love with that car. Sadly, it's not registered anymore and needs a few things doing to it, but their minor things like the paint and needs new tires. But it's sitting in their garage under the cover, and hopefully someday in the future I can re register it, get new tires and drive it around more. Absolutely love these cars.

I used to own a Ford Probe GT, which used the same KL 2.5l V6 that was in the Millenia/Xedos whatever. The KJ-ZEM that is in this car is a close relative of the KL 2.5. I believe it was the piston bore of the 2.5 but the shorter stroke of the 2.0. They were available in the US but still super rare. I was a mechanic for nearly 20 years and I think I’ve worked on 2. They were a great luxury car and the K-series V6s were unbelievably smooth. This was the most powerful version of the K-series engine, just edging out the 200hp KLZE 2.5l. I think they look really cool too and they’ve aged well.

It's just so weird seeing this on your channel. Yeah, we had here in America as the Mazda Millennia, and I always thought it was very American looking for a Japanese car. It was on par with the Chevy Impala from the same era. Anyways, there were quite a few Mazda Millennias in my home town.

I had exactly this model for like 7 years. Only it was silver, not champagne. The comfort level for cruising around was off the charts, but it had this surprising power when you needed it (211 bhp). One special thing about it was the very low seating position in it, proper sports car low, yet super, super comfortable. And the suspension was like flying a 747 on clouds. Very unique car. I miss it sometimes.

This is called the Millenia (Millenia S if supercharged) where I’m from. Sadly low sales numbers and costly breakdowns that eventually mechanically total them meant they ended up getting scrapped/parted out so there are pretty much nonexistent here 😢

I know of many Xedos 9's that were parted out for the 2.5 V6, can be swapped into an MX-3! the 2.3 miller is something super unique indeed!

I fulfilled this challenge with one of my dailies once. A 1985 Ford Grosvenor, then 30+ years old. I found it for sale at a car show literally walking distance from home. £1600, it used to be the mayor of Sheffield's car. One of less than 20 built, 2 left and the only one on the road (mine). Ironically, during my short ownership, the other one came up for sale but couldn't afford 2. Being a Mk2 Granada limousine, parts and support were quite easy considering it was unique on UK roads!

Here in Australia 🇦🇺 they were called Eunos. The larger spaceship looking 929 were very popular here as well. The car you bought was an absolute nick for 1000 pounds, I wish it was mine tbh.

got my green `98 Xedos 9 outside in the drive way, curently around 360.000km and going strong, i have had do weld up one rusthole on the enginemount on the right side of the car, i found it while changing the timingbelt on it, hard to see without taking the mount itself of the struttower (the hole was in the struttower)
also painted the innside of my headlights and running on 19" wheels for now. looking for some 18"with a nice edge :)

The Xedos was very popular in Dublin (Ireland in general) because of the grey import market back in the 90s.
It's definitely a good colour for it as the burgundy looked too old fashioned, but the green was nice.
Can't remember if there was an earlier or later model, but something similar to this had a very love/hate front grille. Odd shaped basically. But this, definitely looked good. And was infinitly nicer than the 626 it replaced.

    From 2022's MOT:
Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):
Offside Rear Upper Suspension arm missing (5.3.3 (a) (ii))
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
all front and rear suspension badly corroded
Rear Exhaust mounting defective (6.1.2 (a))
Someone replaced the suspension arm but didn't touch the rust!
Looks like a typical Car Throttle purchase :D

My dad had a Xedos 6. It was exceptionally refined for a mid-90s junior executive car. He had the V6 which was a lovely engine, although I can't imagine putting up with a car that size and having the 1.6.
Although beware if you take it out at night as the headlights were terrible. Hopefully bulbs have improved in the last 20 years.
