Clear, concise, professional and informative. I do IT for language departments at the University of Washington, we've had to scramble to adapt to a rapidly changing, post-virus environment and I've recommended this video to all of my faculty. Thank you!
Hi Mel, I want to thank you for taking the time to make this video on how to share a Zoom meeting with screen sharing. Everytime I look for a video that's more current the presenters zips right through their presentation as if they have to hurry to go to the bathroom and makes it hard for me to comprehend. You on the other hand presented it at a normal pace you also spoke with such clarity. I'm in my early 60's and my eyes can see you clearly but my brain has to try and catch up. This apparently makes me have to watch the same video several times in order for me to understand it. So I will be checking up on your videos for any future tech showings. BTW I subscribed. Thanks again. Mick
I followed these instructions and it worked well. My advice is to make your lectures short 10-20 and cut longer lectures into segments. It is easier to fix them and also easier for students to get them and run since they are smaller files.
Hi, well done tutorial! One thing to add to your mention of sharing Powerpoint slides, where you recommended putting Powerpoint in full-screen mode to see only the slides in presenter mode. You noted, correctly, that full-screen mode in Powerpoint prevents you from seeing other windows on your own computer. As it happens, there is a simple way to allow you to see both Powerpoint AND your other windows. In Powerpoint, change the setting in "Set up Slideshow" from "Show type: ....full screen" to "Show type:...window". Then you can resize the Powerpoint window as desired, while showing only the actual slides and also being able to click or "down-arrow" through the show. The result? You can see the Powerpoint slide show (without the controls, etc.) AND you can also see any other windows and applications you are running at the same time.
Excellent step by step instructions. The closure of schools makes this app a great feature to teach 7th grade math. My students use Google Classroom daily. Instead of posting a pre-made video I can continue the teaching experience and personalize the lessons based on student responses. The ability to use the same screen and annotate is wonderful and the whiteboard option makes this perfect for modeling steps for math concepts and allows the students to be active participants in their learning. We as teachers were thrown into digital remote learning due to the virus and tasked with continuing to educate students. I want my students to continue to learn and be involved. Thank you for the helpful videos. I am excited to use it and think my 7th graders will also enjoy it. I do feel sorry for teachers who have not gone digital yet. It can feel overwhelming, but playing around and exploring apps and practicing really help. I would never go back to a paper-based system. I love the digital platform where I can use Google forms and get instant data to assess understanding and less grading is the best! Zoom is exactly what I need, I and am excited about Zoom. Your video was extremely helpful. Thank you very much!
thank you so much, your video is very useful. I am a k-teacher using this Zoom tool by first time because the corona virus. I will be checking all the tutorials your're done. Big thanks again :-)
Near perfect walk through of the Zoom features meeting & screen sharing techniques! Thanks very much Mel Wolverson. Think Zoom should on board you for these vital skills :)
Thanks Mel! Super-useful. Thanks for your efforts. Maybe you have this in another video, but beginners like me need to know how to invite people to a meeting.
Good morning Mel,I am the first time user and I am pleased to access the zoom page so I can participate where needed, more so as I plan to participate in the zoom session tomorrow.Zacharia Mokone.
You present very well. Wondering if you have another video out there that shows a similar presentation but includes how to show the live view of the other (multiple) participants while the presenter and/or powerpoint is going on.
Hi, great video. My share iphone/ipad selections suddenly disappeared. I have reinstalled Zoom several times but it is still not visible. Have you any idea what occured. Thanks
I'm a special needs teacher and would like to screen share with my students while having them still up on the screen so I can see if I am losing them or not. I think it has something to do with 'Manage Participants' Thanks so much!!
Try "gallery view" for zoom. That allows you to see several students at once. You have to have your video turned on to see the gallery view button during the meeting.
When I am doing a presentation, how do I zoom in on an area where I only want my students to see? because sometimes when I have a whole slide up, students tend to read more whats on the screen and really not paying attention on what you are actually referencing about. So I would like to zoom in on the area of the document where I am talking about currently.
Click the arrow next to "Screen Share", click advanced settings, and "Share Portion of Screen". Then a green box will appear that you can resize to share a portion. Or, an alternative is only sharing one app and already having it set up to be a full-screen presentation.
Hi, everything sounds good. I have a question in regards to screen mirroring. I try to screen mirroring my Samsung phone to my Samsung TV. I mirror zoom but can hear the audio from the TV and only hear the audio thru my phone. This only happens with the Zoom app. Can you help me out please.
Participant chat box can be put to the side without using another monitor. You forgot to show video between two people or all question/chats shared in a side bar.
Hello. Anytime I share my screen to play video clip, I usually see on the screen "remove the screen from share screen application" . I checked share computer sound and optimize for-full video clip. Please what's the solution to this? At times the video would show without sound or sound without image or picture. Thank you
I can't figure out how to show myself top corner right while presenting a slide show. Your video says turn on your video but my video is turned on. I record and I only see the slide share not myself top corner. I am on a Mac. Does that matter? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any input.
Hello. So my camera works on other apps, but on zoom, when i click video settings,it shows a black screen. The led near the camera is on but the screen won't show up.I have a Lenovo G70-70 laptop
Very useful and clean instructions! God bless you, Melinda!

Thank you!
Excellent presentation ! Your video helped me to gain more knowledge and confidence to use Zoom.
This is the best Zoom tutorial I have ever attended.
One of the best zoom presentations I have seen thus far. I learned quite a few things I was trying to get answers for.

Thanks for the mansplain. Do you think she really doesn't know this? SHEEEEESH.
Cyndi Simpson how is adding a helpful comment considered “mansplaining”??? Careful . . .your gender bias is showing
Yes. I have done this. It does work. It does limit screen space on a smaller screen/laptop.

Thank you, Mel. You made this intro very easy to follow. Perfect pace for me, too.
Very good presentation.
Since I run a meeting with my students as presenters, I am hopeful that these tips will help me tomorrow for a synchronous class meeting! Thanks, Mel!
Excellent introduction to using zoom and how to share your screen. You need to practice before a meeting.

This is pretty easy to work through, simple instruction
You present very well. Wondering if you have another video out there that shows a similar presentation but includes how to show the live view of the other (multiple) participants while the presenter and/or powerpoint is going on.
I don't think I have a video for that specific topic, but I might add one on my own channel
Thanks very helpful
Very well done. Thank you!
Pleasant voice.
Hi, great video. My share iphone/ipad selections suddenly disappeared. I have reinstalled Zoom several times but it is still not visible. Have you any idea what occured. Thanks
How did u remove the zoom watermark?
I'm a special needs teacher and would like to screen share with my students while having them still up on the screen so I can see if I am losing them or not. I think it has something to do with 'Manage Participants' Thanks so much!!

Really clear - thank you
Thank you zoom app is very fine
Great tutorial!
Thanks for this.
Very helpful
Thank you
Really, helpful.
Really helpful, thank you!
great presentation. If I am a participant in a meeting can I take control of the presentation somehow?
Only if the host gives you control.
Good tutorial...thanks!
What mic and camera did you use for this?
I used a medium-cost Sennheiser headset (which I recommend) and the Mac's default quicktime screen recording options.
Thanks so much Mel. Is that particular headset still available? It sounds great. What is the model number please?
@@thebible4u Sennheiser PC 131 is the new version of the same headset. ($70)
Mel Wolverson thank you Mel!
What brand of chat headphones are you using? The audio is good.
Thanks
Sennheiser. I recommend.
This was actually quite good - however, I would like more training on virtual backgrounds plz. Thank you!!
Virtual backgrounds is a fun feature. I'll look into making a video on that for my channel.
@@MelWolverson Wonderful! I look forward to when that is done. Thank you so much!
As objective as it should be, with a touch of affectivity. Congrats.
lol Thanks.
If you’re able to multiple screen sharing and you’re sharing your own screen, can you see what other participants are sharing?
When I am doing a presentation, how do I zoom in on an area where I only want my students to see? because sometimes when I have a whole slide up, students tend to read more whats on the screen and really not paying attention on what you are actually referencing about. Looks like a good app. Can it be used to record a screen for tutorials?
Yes

mirroring with zoom can be choppy. Might just use zoom, but mirror with another app.
You lost me at "open the Zoom app".
lol
ruclips.net/video/xoHncH2Ec-8/видео.html - see if this helps - made for teachers!!
what is wrong
Can i use both ppt and white board all together at a same time? And share the screen so the students can see both at a same time
Participant chat box can be put to the side without using another monitor. You forgot to show video between two people or all question/chats shared in a side bar.
Thank you. Is there a way to hide the tool bar when sharing. I see you can dock it above or below, but is there a way to minimize it?
I have not found a way to completely hide it. Perhaps someone here has an idea.

I have the free version of Zoom. I don't see features like polling and drawing. What version of Zoom are you using? Thanks
Pro version. Several options are pro only.
Good video app
Mirror effect let's you see a mirror version of yourself because we are not used to seeing ourselves not mirrored.
It also gets confusing when the computer you is moving the opposite direction as the real you :-P
I can't figure out how to show myself top corner right while presenting a slide show. Your video says turn on your video but my video is turned on. I record and I only see the slide share not myself top corner. I am on a Mac. Does that matter? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any input.

Thanks sir good ways to earn money
