I was holding my breath while you were applying the gold. Gorgeous end result though, these old toys have a charm that modern model trains just can't match.
I have a collection of mostly Edwardian toy/ model trains including a gauge 1 Marklin CLR loco and coach both dating from about 19OO. I'm London based if you're interested in featuring some of them.
I have those modern H0 Märklin model trains and my 1-year old son got a (wooden) BRIO steam engine and he loves it. But I too must admit that those old scale 0 trains do have a special charm. Thanks for the video!
As somebody who collects Marklin trains myself (post-war electric HO gauge), I thank you for giving my train's "daddy" or "grand-daddy" a new lease on life. BEAUTIFUL WORK!!!
I just love to watch a real craftsman at work and seeing your restorations from start to finish always gives me such a thrill. You are a great craftsman because you see the potential of your projects from how they are to how they could be and then proceed the long journey to make your projects new again.

I have the exact same model. My father gave it to me when I was 10. He played with the train when he was a young boy... it's one of the few toys he has left from his childhood. Nice to see one saved for future generations.
From trash to a treasure, it look like it just came out of the box! I am always impressed by how well these toys are restored by you. Thanks for sharing this.
Schade, das es solches Spielzeug heute nicht mehr gibt. Schöne alte Zeit. Danke für die Restauration. ---- It's a shame that such toys no longer exist today. Good old days. Thanks for the restoration.
When people like me look at the before pictures and think "no way it can be brought back to life", you prove us wrong. And thank goodness you do! I thoroughly enjoy your restorations.
I like to imagine the two little dudes own a railway, and need more engines, so they hire this guy to restore them ones, and as payment he gets to upload videos on the restoration. Awesome restoration btw!
As an O-scale collector and railroad enthusiast, I truly appreciate the care and love you put into your work in restoring these beautiful engines to their former glory. Another masterpiece, sir! She's gorgeous!
Usually I prefer restoration vids to have narration rather than the ASMR types, but watching you give this little guy a whole new lease of life with probably more love and attention to detail than when it was first made was amazing.
I’ll admire your patience with this kinda restored toys. It’s not only the restore itself but also your knowledge about the chemistry involved and last but hardly least, the decals that you’ve printed yourself that makes it even better than that these toys left the factory at the time they were made. Yet again a beautiful video thanks for sharing this with me. 👍👍❤️
I’ve been restoring prewar electric trains and steam engines for years and can tell you your attention to detain is fabulous. Nicely done! The ONLY thing I would have done differently is to keep the tender wheels nickel colored. Great job.
Thanks a lot fot watching and also commenting ! The wheels were in very bad shape, I know the black painting was not the best choice... Thanks again !! 😌🙏
There's a LOT less to go wrong with it too! I don't trust the exotic electronics they're packing new model trains with. Having worked with circuit boards for 30 years let me tell you, they can last for 30 years or blow tomorrow, you never know. Keep it simple, you're better off in the long run.
This is awesome. Thank you for inspiring and sharing techniques. You've encouraged me to blow dust from some old boxes forgotten for a few decades and make the trains running again!
I have recently inherited a collection of No. 1 gauge Bassett Lowke Engines and rolling stock in a similar condition. I will endeavour to match your skills! Many thanks for the tips.
Wonderful; magic! I bought a Lionel train set from the early 80's or 70's. It has plastic parts, but the guts of it are metal, simple controler etc.. Simple is best , especially for young kids today, it teaches them mindulness and opens the door to the wonderful world of the "Imagination"; the best "nation"!

Die Zug-Mechaniker had a tough job in their hands, but they succeed again with the right tool in their Werkstatt. Thanks to the camera man for taking us along this journey of restoration.
At the start the engine looked like it would never see itself under its own power again, but now it looks and runs like it was built yesterday. Well done
I've got a photograph of my grandfather, an engineer on the Chicago and Northwestern railway, with a huge oilcan, standing beside a huge locomotive in the late 1940's. 0:40 immediately brought that photo to mind 🙂
You, sir, did some wonderful work; and brought a beautiful engine back to life. They REALLY new how to build toys back then. I wish I would have saved some of mine from the 50's. They were handed down through the generations and your grandchildren played with toys that used to be yours. They don't last like that anymore. Great job!

I love to see these old toys restored to a second life. This simple locomotive is one of my favorites. Thank you.
Thank you !!! 😃🙌🙏👍🏻
I can easily say wooooow ! What a job that was
went as far as taking the train apart by piece .
And restored back to its natural beauty .
Great job !
He even had a sand blasting machine
which did a great job on smaller parts.
Must of been an engineer of a sort .
Thanks a lot Danny 😌👍🏻
I love how magical that sandblaster is. The rust and paint just vanish at its touch XD
