An additional tie off point so you can run a snatch block was a welcomed addition. Looks very easy to do your own maintenance as well, lots of room on that unit. I do dislike the radiator running that far down and being that close to the grill for a mud unit. The previous generation Maverick xmr suffered from over heating with the same radiator position once you have passed through several mud holes.
Very nice walk around. The can ams do feel alot more finished than other brands. I just bought a defender hd5 and am very happy with the fit and finish of that machine.
I’ve been waiting for someone to upload a thorough review like this, thanks guys you never disappoint. This might be my next purchase, so I’m looking forward to your opinion on it after some time behind the wheel !
The oil filter is buried a bit. Have to remove the seats and one seat frame, then the filter is sideways and impossible not to get oil all over. Mine came with M1 Evil tires, 30" VERY comfortable and the best SXS doors I've ever seen. I don't even get dusty driving it in the desert. Handles whoops very well. No squeaks or rattles. It's tight. Would be nice to have the multi position power steering but it's dialed in well.
I own one and I can tell you, I do not regret it one bit. The more narrow 60 inch unit lets me pick a better line faster while climbing a rocky or rutted hill. I think for the more open areas the bigger units are fantastic, but I think the narrow back roads out here in AZ favor the Sport.
@@SouthwestORV Sounds like a plan! It's hard to go the other direction because we are so close to I-17 and everything that has to offer. However, the white mountains are fantastic! pls send me an email: awagner@ncarizona.net
@@mzwak2001 ? I have several. Driver side tire started bouncing at 75 last time I tried. Top speed tests are tough on our graded dirt roads out here, very busy. I do have a road I can test it on, but it's a long ways away I don't get to often. I will retest on a dirt road when safe and I have time. I am guessing 80.
The chipmunk test...best quote of the video 😂 LOL! Great vid. I’m definitely impressed for a ATV old timer. That engine sounds fantastic. I feel so old now...a 300 Honda was the jaw dropper when I first hit the saddle 😆. Man if this stuff was around back then the mountains would be worn flat! ( and in many cases they already have! Geez a ATV trail is now a 2 hole rut everywhere you go now)
@@MrBerett315 Defender is not slow. My XMR 1000 does 65mph and I can keep up with OG Mavericks in the woods. I came from a OG Mav and the Defender gets down for a utility.
I'm digging it also but I don't like the smallish titers. With all that horsepower it still has some room to pour some bigger tires I would think. Have fun be safe make a cool video I want to see it next week.
Those 30x9 Cryptids only run 28.25", all the other Cryptid sizes run pretty true to size, but for some reason the ones they make for the OEM CanAm are really small. Only upside is there are a lot of inexpensive pull offs available for sale!
The problem is this sport XMR and the X3 base (64" 120HP) XMR, are the same damn price. With that I'd take the X3 all day long and twice on Sunday. Can-Am has to get their pricing sorted ASAP.
Like AJ said and makes sense for 22K for the Sport and why not get the Sport X-MR with all those features and pay 25K 6...My mine is made up..Also seen your Bro review X-MR this week....Amazing what it can go through just hope the smart diff hold up through water though..Keep up the great work..Also i just trick one out for 29K not bad..
Agreed! Would love to get one from Kawi to review. So far one has not been made available, but we will keep asking! Would love to see some updates to the BF in the suspension, handling and bodywork. Haven't seen any major changes made to it in quite some time.
All depends if you want to drive or ride and if you want the option to have someone sit next to you. Big price variance between the two as well. 1000R engine in either one with a price difference of close to 7 grand.
Good video I just look at one at my local dealer really waiting for the test drive trying to make a decision between this one and the regular sport , wondering how this will handle high speeds with a set of all terrain tires hope you guys from dirt track can let me know thanks
Why are there no Videos of this machine in action? I’ve ordered one but dealer says it won’t be in till February. I’ll black powder coat all the yellow and carbon wrap the yellow plastics.
We just got ours from Can-Am and AJ did this report. You can see he hadn't even taken off all the packaging yet, but wanted to get a walk around done for you. Shooting it in action this week and have another report slated to report on its performance and then his full TEST RIDE to follow.
Dirt Trax TV my fiancé and I just picked up a 2020 on Friday but always like to hear what your guys opinions of them are.. this is my go to channel when purchasing a new Machine
If you pay 40 thousand is mind plowing. Well Canada is in a recession. Buy up what u need. This covid is all just a fake. Pull and u flung all the clips off. Now who buys this will have no clips.
I don't know why every manufacturer makes those stupid stock roll cages that are low in the front and rise up in the back when are they going to learn we want it somewhat low and level atleast somewhat level I understand big guys have to fit in here so not too low
Don't like the gages, for the price of these things it should be more of a multi color. That boring orange would be a prime example of why I would not buy. Its literally one of the main reasons I bought a 1000 Outlander vs the 850.

Don’t forget to look for that clip that went flying off the yellow post under the hood. That thing went flying lol.
I noticed that too
I bought me a bag of those, they are a pain, but now they don't seem to be as problematic as they were when new. Love the avatar! ;)
I heard this
The only reason I came to the comment section and you beat me lol
I was thinking the same thing, because I did it to
Great vid guys, really liking the walk-arounds. Really lets you get more in depth with the machine than just your show reviews.
Mud vs Trail button. I do believe that controls your front differential.
I'd love to see a comparison between the Can AM and Polaris mud UTVs.
Just a straight comparison between Sport and 1000 S would be nice.
@@yellowsuzuki06 4-6k
yeap! this one & the rzr highlifter sxs

Thanks for the intro and info. A unit like this could join the SWORV fleet in the not-too-distant future.

Really hope they can put that digital cluster and the locking diff on the regular sport. Even them shocks would be awesome.

Great review can’t wait for the real test.
Nice review of the 2019 Canam Maverick Sport XMR. Looks to be an impressive machine! Would like to see it in action!!
Soo does this mean we get a walk around of the xrc sport as well
I want one bad! Cant wait to see the testing!
Looks like they would've vented the exhaust somewhere other than directly at the shock mount.
That is a very nice machine. Good for you. Be safe and God bless.
Enjoyed the more personal review of the bike! I will definitely be going to check one out at my local dealer
This is top of line. There is no other to match this with. These are tought. Like my can am dirt bike. 1970
Just about to pick this one up as a left over. Any known issues with them? Recalls? Is it the 1st year of the Maverick Sport line?
i'm torn between this and a defender XMR haha i love them both.
LOVE MY DEFENDER XMR!!!!!!! few videos on my channel check them out
Defender is slow but has a utility side. Sport is fast, light, and more sport driven. What are you going to use it for most

The defender xmr ride sucks I think it’s the travel
I absolutely love it but it is still crazy that these things cost as much as they do now...
Yup. These high performance machines are definitely not entry level priced.
Can you get a back bumper to protect the rear shocks?
Yes, several options
Would you recommend the can am vs the wild cat?
Looks alittle top exposed in the rear lots of wires and essential plastic. Needs a shield I would think. Also brake lines in front look easily broken.
This is the only can am sxs that I like sorry not sorry. Plus it would fit where I ride

Nice SxS Maybe someday in the future
Solid reviews, man!
I want one of these and the RC
Nice, I want one lol. You should take it for a rip through miserable lake trail. O yeah might be alittle tight maybe outhouse trail 👍👍
How would it stack up against a 70's roadster in terms of safety. It still seems like a lot to pay if I can't even use it as a grocery-getter.
I love reviews like this
I like that it has engine temp

No.

Good job AJ, 👍🏻
great video.. when is part 2 going to coming out.
We have a web-exclusive segment coming soon!
How does this machine fit you if you’re 6 foot five and weighs 275 pounds
Probably snug.
I like it better than the x3 (I’m 6’6” and 230lbs) as far as space, getting in and out, and fit/finish
Be nice to have a belt temp on cluster
Cool!

Great review! When will you be posting a video of it in action? :)
Does it have a reverse override rev limiter?
