  • "Boringly boxy" practically summed up Volvo's entire product lineup for years, says Graeme Fletcher.
    Boy, how times have changed.
With a new look-and plenty of power to match-the 2015 Volvo V60 R-Design takes everything Volvo wagons were known for are stands it on its head.
Add in the turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine tuned by Polestar, and the V60 R-Design puts down an impressive 325 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque.
All that is good for a spring from 0 to 100 km/h of 5.9 seconds, not bad for an icon of Swedish safety.

I own this car. I love it so much. The heated windshield is amazing up here in Canada. Hated it too at first but just love it now that I have adjusted to it. You can pass almost anything on the road and no-one will ever expect the power it has as it's just a volvo. Also quite surprisingly good on gas on the highway at around 30mpg but atrocious around town so more of a highway cruiser if you ask me. And I love all the real buttons! So much better and safer than having a big television/fiddly touchscreen right in your feild of view. Perfect vehicle.

This car is capable 0-60 in 5.2 sec easy ! I don’t know how this guy drives but my 2013 R design can do it all day with practically no mods.

Agreed, he got that wrong. He's also in the polestar optimized version too.

    Nice review,
But, you got the 0-100km time wrong, it's 4.9seconds - and you're actually driving a polestar software map.
Also, praising the car for having adjustable steering settings (which many cars wont have). And then complaining you can't change it on the fly is a silly argument. You can easily change it at the lights.

Replace the infotainment with a modern one, put the 8 speed and T6 4 cylinder in it (already done), add more sound proofing, and tweak the ride and steering feel a little and there is no need to bother with a next gen of this vehicle. Near perfect.
