Just use mine today first time (east PA) i use 9ah batteries though that i already had. Got 10 inches in the driveway. Used eco mode the while time. I was impressed. It was heavy wet snow. Once i made a lane had to use half the blower size but it did get the job done. A consistent 10-15 ft toss. I approve

-- As of today, I have finally eliminated all my corded tools and small two stroke carbureted machines. Who ever liked dragging a drop cord around, or maintenance on a tiny gummed up two stroke carb. But I'm not ready to do that with snowblowers or lawn mowers however. Let's just say I live 800 feet from Lake Michigan. 2-Stage snowblower and a plow on a tractor if that doesn't work. I see the need for this tool, smaller drives lighter snow; get it more power to you. Been using Dewalt cordless drills since the 9v back in the 90s. Great tools. But ... much as I love my half inch cordless impact, I love my V8s more.
You'd think this small sort of snowblower (had a Jake and a couple of Toros like this) someone would slap some better tires and a motor on those wheels. You CAN struggle with those things, doesn't matter who you are, how strong you are or how old you are.
Let me put it this way. A two stage snowblower with self propel for roughly 400 dollars more makes throwing snow fun.
Thumbs up. Tool has a place.

Looking forward to you guys reviewing Dewalt powershift. I'm eager to see how it will develop and compare to MX fuel. I think Milwaukee has a big advantage with MX fuel. Hopefully powershift will bridge together 20/60v with itself and create great synergy

If you live in Concord MA, like you do, and my sister does, get a gas powered Honda 2 stage, self propelled snowblower , unstoppable , and very reliable. ( My opinion)

What blows my mind is the absent of self propelled single stages. My mom loves her snow thrower but cant use it because her driveway is 20-30 degrees inclined and she cant push it up the driveway. She drags it up to the street through the snow, then pushes it down.
The battery snow shovels are always my choice for porches. I have one thats part of my attachment trimmer, i switch out the after the big fall cleanup wnd now have a 12 inch handheld shovel that doesnt break my back.

@@ConcordCarpenter I havent seen a single self propelled 1 stage. Meanwhile I've never seen a push 2 stage.
Also with ryobi relasing a 40v 2 stage for 1199 that comes with 2 8ah batteries, it really makes me question these higher end 1 stage units unless you're banking off the 2 giant flexvolt batteries to use in other tools

How long did the batteries last?

I purchased one, set it up and turned it on. The fault indicator light would not turn off. The manual said to take the batteries out and back in and if that doesn't work it take to a service provider. It did not help so I returned mine. Just curious if you noticed any issues?

I'd be concerned about how the cold, because of course it's going to be cold when snowing, would affect the battery life.

    • @ccbowers
      @ccbowers 4 месяца назад

If your batteries are starting room temperature, they won't cool downs in use, so that won't be a factor. Not storing the batteries in the cold is an important point though

Do you know if Dewalts 15ah batteries would fit in the unit?

  • @heystarfish100

I would never buy a snowblower that requires me the user to push the heavy machine through the snow no matter how far the machine throws the snow. This machine would not even be in my window if I were shopping for a replacement. Had it use rubber paddles which help drive the blower I would consider.

I understand your theory, but the single stage snow blowers actually are pulled forward by the paddles.
