I've been able to clean out the bars and info using OBS when using this camera as a webcam but the problem is that there is a light gray corners appearing in the centre. When I turn on auto face detect...its just distracting. CAN U PLS FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS AND MAYBE POST A VIDEO EXPLAINING HOW TO GET A CLEAN HDMI?????

I have this camera and I must sadly tells you that the HDMI out is NOT clear , also it is impossible have full screen image because it has all the info around the image in a sort of black box...I search if it is possible do something in the menu but did not find the answer...
I think Wi-Fi is so important to control zooming via smart phone instead of touching camera, which causing shake during video recording. I wish this feature available in my HX300, it produces high quality video.

what i do is keep a certain distance for example, 7 feet away from más subject, or person jajaja and that person another 7 o more feets away from the background,you have to keep distances between, backround-person, person-camera, and zoom in with optical zoom, so you dont loose details, and it gives a certain blurred backround, hopefully, that will help a lot:)
What you need to do is select aperture priority mode and select a low aperture value of 5.6 or less. Then select a high zoom of 100mm or more. The more you zoom in and the lower the aperture value, the more blurred the background will be.
optical zoom, its the zoom that doesnt lose resolution, if you noticed, when you zoom in, en the screen, you can apreciate 1x to 50x.. when you go above 50x to 100x you get digital zoom,which is kinda bad :(, because its processed, not like the optical thats, direct from the lens, hopefully that will help you understand if not, add me on facebook Sergio David Moctezuma Muñoz, my profile picture is with a lot of friend with a blue shirt.

Get the Sony HX400v. It's a lot more versatile without the need of buying multiple lenses. It's a one time investment rather than spending money on additional lenses. And the WiFi feature allows you to share images on facebook from your camera so much faster
Nobody talk about the feature "Dual Rec" who allow taking full res photos while recording of a 1080p mp4 video. I like this feature on my HX200v. Still present on the HX300 but they removed it on the HX400V...??? Sometimes I just can't understand company's decision :(

I got a really great price on the hx300.. The only feature I wished the 300 had was the wifi for cable-less saving of photos. I got exactly what I wanted by getting an eyefi mobile pro 32 gig memory card. I intend to have one on every camera I have in the future...instead of having to relearn the wifi quirks every time I use a different camera's wifi. (YES...many of us own multiple camera's). The hot shoe??? I will miss that feature IF and only if the sale of the accessories becomes a little more competitive. Ive had a Sony handycam for about 5 years with a hotshoe...the price requested for accessories has been a huge turnoff for me. When they eventually come out with the HX500... I hope they include night vision as an option. :-) Maybe then I will upgrade.......

sony hx 400v has to much gadgets but they forgot photo quality only good is video but too much noise from motor.comparing sony hx 400v and canon sx 130is has beter photo quality and video is not noisy.I have both and sony is not worth that money just buy dslr in that price range.

You forgot to mention the DMF focus mode for the focus ring and the fact that the 400V has a touchscreen, which the 300 doesn't.

Thanks for the kind words. Indeed the AX100 is responsible for the 4k. For audio, I use an external Samson USB mic.

The problem from the HX400V is that it's 1080p 50p, that's the only reason am getting the HX350 (they cost exactly the same btw)
