Should probably try letting it cool down before continuing to repeat 0-100 attempts, did you not notice the trans temps? You’ve also got not far off a full tank which isn’t gonna help the 0-100. Prior to getting the herrod package I was consistently getting 5.7-5.8, 5.02 is my best now.
Thanks for your comment. We always try to test with near a full tank (although not always purely due to logistical challenges) as we want to represent real-world performance. We’re not trying to find an absolute record time, otherwise, yeah, we could take the rear seats out, remove the spare wheel etc. that’s not what we’re about. Hope you can understand. We do allow for some cool down between runs. Keep in mind the video is not actually timed. We run the Vbox separately so we can concentrate and properly try all modes, often lots more tests than what’s shown. Times at the end are the best result of the day. And yeah, I have seen 5.8ish with previous tests on my old PDriveTV channel. Different vehicle, different weather, different fuel, all influence results. Thanks again.
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia for sure, always many variables that go into, the trans temp was getting very high from memory without rewatching in most the runs you did though, that definitely isn’t going to help get the best time out of it. My comments probably more so aimed at the little hot hatch shit talkers in the comments that think the times you got are reflective of what the raptor can do at its peak.
@@matthewheyen1953 Haha, yeah fair enough. But keep in mind the videos aren't timed runs. They're just a demonstration without actual Vbox timing. I just loop back around and run again and again, going through all the modes purely to capture the video. The timing is done separately.
One of these raced me off the lights in my Sonata N Line, knowing what it had under the bonnet I thought it would gap me, but I was quite surprised I dusted it pretty easily, still for what it is, it’s pretty quick for a 2.5 ton vehicle.
Well I have a 2021 Sonata N Line According to the results on PDriveTV, it does the 1/4mile 0.3 seconds quicker and the main real world difference is the roll-on acceleration, Sonata does the 60-100km/h in 3.5 seconds while this took 4.1, that’s a huge difference in the real world.
@wizzylizzy69 your an idiot a 1250 kg lightweight car with instant torque vs a big heavy and slow ute that weighs over a tonne more always the same old they weren't racing excuse you weren't even there ffs 🙄
Personally, I'd buy the HiLux. I don't think I would get use out of the Raptor. Although lots of fun in the right conditions, I'd rather just get a sports car or sports sedan if driving fun was my priority. But I can totally see why the Raptor is popular. Just not for me. The HiLux performs better as a utility in my opinion, and as an everyday vehicle. And it uses a lot less fuel lol.
Neighbor got one a few months back…was doing the rounds around the farmers up valley (he’s a noter)…he’s parked it back up now when his wife said at recent bbq that he was just compensating for other deficiencies lol As for the truck…gearbox is probably slick, but sounds daft changing gear every 2 seconds, and is the distance to empty really dropping as fast as it accelerates?. Maybe I’m just too much into my diesels 🤪
I really don't think I can get over how bad it sounds. I feel like they should have just not tried to make it 'sound good' and that would have helped. Probably doesn't help my current engine is an LS3. Great video though. Shame US model doesn't get rear AC vents.
No it doesn’t help that your current vehicle has an ls3. But if you heard all the other Utes in the market you may change your opinion on how it sounds.
@@Paradoxical124 This is probably true. While not a Ute, the Lexus LX550 start up with the TTV6, doesn't have that trumpet sound and sounds throaty overall. 1:29 for Malaysian spec model it does not have the middle brace. I wonder how much it'll affect chasis rigidity
Nice! I want one 🙂
I’m about to buy one but not sure shouldI get the 2023 model and save some money or is there some improvements in the 2024 model?
No difference between my23.5 and 24 model
I’m holding out for the Ranger Raptor R in 2025. 5.0 Coyote on 37s. US spec.
Identical 1/4 mile time as Stelvio 2.0 measured woth racebox. Stelvio is finishing at 159km/h though, but is 6.2 to real 100km/h
Glad I’m not paying the petrol bill😂
Surprised to see the Raptor on has twin piston front brake calipers.
A late hilux has four piston front calipers.
Ford brakes suck

It's the best selling model nationally for 2023. You can see why with that engine.
So why is it only the uk that gets considerably less power
uk laws differ because the power to weight ratio laws are alot more stricter there than australia
