It’s a little while since I’ve watched one of your videos and I want to applaud your growth as a teacher and designer. You’ve moved into the few jewelry makers I’ve put on my alert list! You’re not just rehashing ideas you’ve seen, you’re actually bringing new ideas to the table! I love your informal teaching style and how well you explain what and why. I’ll be trying this cute lil link and I’m working on a double strand bracelet right now that needs this clasp. Thank you!
You are one of the best wirewrapping teachers I've ever seen! Your clear information, your sweet voice explaining every important detail, your laughter, even when you make mistakes, show your humble personality. I learned a lot from you since i discovered you yesterday. 💯 Thank you for sharing! ❤
@@samjones9282 you are so welcome! I’ll share a secret… I’m a beginner too! 😅😅But i was blessed with all the elements to share the journey so I figured why not? 🤷♀️😄
@carriefoscatodesign i have hardly seen any tutorials that use freshwater pearls. That's actually a shame. Freshwater pearls are affordable and beautiful at the same time.
@ yes! They are sooo pretty and the colors! I often run into them not fitting on the wire, so I think they end up not being my first choice because of that, unfortunately. I think I need to go through my stash and section out the hole sizes. 👍🤗
@@carriefoscatodesign i bought pearls in a shop where you can choose the size of the hole. If the hole is too big for the pearl, you get a message. That's very practical.
@ oooooh nice! I inherited all the pearls I have so I didn’t have any say in selection 😢 but I might have to get a few things that accommodate wire. Did you order them online, and if so, from where? 🤗🧡✨💚
Love this!! Great design and teaching. I love your energy and laughter. You always put a smile on my face and get my creative wheels turning. Appreciate you!
Thank you for this wonderful video! So many others do not go slow enough or zoom in enough for beginners like me to follow. You are an excellent teacher.
Carrie - Found you just recently and I’M SO GLAD I DID! You and your tutorials are WONDERFUL!!! Learning SO MUCH!!! THANK YOU for your VERY GENEROUS spirit - for your willingness to share your considerable talent and expertise. I would like to ask a question. Is there a similar clasp as the one you taught in this tutorial that could be used for a single strand bracelet? If so, would you consider doing a tutorial on it? Thanks so much, once again, for sharing. And may you and yours enjoy a happy, healthy new year. ❤️
@@mayalarson5509 oh you’re so welcome! Now you got my wheels turning about how to make it for one strand of links. There is a coiled end cap that instead of horizontal to the chain like it is in this video it would act like … ya know the little band of metal on the end of a pencil? It would work like that. You make the coil and the links fit inside and you leave one end with a tail to make a loop. I’ve been thinking of doing that so I’ll be working on a chain link that will work best with that end cap style. Thanks for the question!! 🤗💚✨🧡

Happy New Year Carrie and glad you’re feeling better! I love your videos and have learned so much from you, thank you. I think I once heard you say your full name is Carolyn? So is mine, I got so fed up with people constantly calling me CarolINE I changed it to Carrie! 😊

My middle name is Virginia so my dad was thinking about the old timers song “Carry Me Back to Ol’ Virginny” Happy New Year, caroLYN! 😂💚✨🧡
I just started watching your videos. Do you use copper for a reason and can these be made with silver or gold wire? Do you need to put something on the copper so it doesn’t turn you green? Thanks! I love this.
Hi! Great question. I use copper simply because most people have access to it and it’s pretty cheap. And, yes, choose whatever wire you would like as long as you stick with the gauge, you should be good to go. 😊I like how you envision a piece with your own colors and patterns in mind. A true artista! 🤗💚✨🤗
Oh, you asked how about to treat it so the copper doesn’t turn green. I use a product called Protectaclear. It comes in a liquid or spray and will help the copper stay in its original color and sheen. It won’t last forever but it does pretty well. Another thing that helps is simply keeping the pieces clean with some dish some and warm water. I always keep the rings on that you see in the videos and my fingers never turn green because I’m always washing dishes!! 😂😂
Hi! I’ve been purchasing my sterling from Rio Grande. I’ve heard in metalsmithing circles that there others that are just as good, but… uh, I can’t remember any names at the moment🤪
And I always use dead soft. I used to use half hard and then I came across dead soft and I’ve never used anything else. So easy to manipulate that you can then work harden later through hammering or tumbler machine.
@@Danielleb723 hi! I have bought a few lengths of sterling silver that had clasps already attached, but I’ve only ever handmade copper chain. It really was born out of a time when I got an order from a store and I didn’t have enough chain on hand and I was worried about what to do and it dawned on me… I can just make my own… which sent me down a road discovering all the cool variations and possibilities! So in short, yes, I do prefer making my own 😂🤗💚✨🧡
