Spinneret and Ultimate Mary Jane are awesome. Both of them are mature, loving and supportive wives to their respective Peter Parker. Both are loving mums. Spinneret with her daughter. Ultimate MJ with her son and daughter.
I prefer Mary Jane from the Ultimate Universe because she's compassionate and caring for Peter Parker despite seeing him go through tough situations such as fighting Ultimate Green Goblin.

Mary Jane in general is my favourite Spider-man love interest, but the way zeb wells wrote her is disgraceful. If you want to see peak 616 MJ, then try reading the old John Romita Comics.

The responsibility line felt intentional ominous and not a cautional warning like in other spiderman story . I feel like this Harry is a perfect foil /villain for this version of Peter who is still nonchalant personal and hero wise . It 's obvious how aggressive and low key controling Harry and Gwen are that they going take things too far . Mj even comments on it , it had tension beneath the surface with the gestures and passive aggressive one liners that made them scary.

This issue was incredible. I loved the character work displayed throughout. The way MJ described her career change was pretty relatable and pretty poignant considering how Hickman went from working in web design to comics. This really is the most personal I've seen Hickman write in a long time.
This Ultimate Gwen seems a lot less of the romanticized version we've seen for so long and more of an actual character; she's smart as hell but can come off a bit blunt and is more morally grey.
It's crazy how the Great Power, Great Responsibility speech still has so much power even under a different context. It's little changes like that that keeps me so excited for the next issue (speaking of, did you see the teaser for issue 5? New Ultimate Doc Ock is coming!)
Overall, I liked David Messina's art. Some pages and panels looked great but there were a few times where a character's face looked weird.
Crazy theory time:
1. I think the first real of The Paper is going to be 6160 Jessica Jones.
2. Harry is going to be the who dies and Gwen will become the new Green Goblin.
3. Peter will tell Mary Jane his secret either next issue or issue 6.

I just read the comic, I’m super excited to see who else will be in the series as I’d love to see villains that are both the biggest and the smallest. It was cool to see the comic have no spider-man but that makes sense because of how they are being portraying this version of Spider-Man and still wanting to be with MJ as much as possible. But like i was saying, I’d still love to see more villains weather they are big villains like dr octopus, venom, kraven, sandman, hobgoblin or Mr Negative or small like big wheel, speed demon, Hypno-hustler, Stegron, Iguana or Fusion
I wonder how long it’s going to take for Peter to reveal his identity to MJ because In almost, if not, all the variant covers for this series, every time it shows Pete and MJ being a cute couple, Peter is always in his suit and has his mask off, implying that she’ll know at some point.
Also, I just had like a bit of an ominous feeling when it was revealed that Gwen was in this and was Harry’s wife. I don’t know, it could be just me, but I just feel like something bad is going to happen regarding her. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Oh, am I ever out of the loop. Ultimate Spider-Man comics were Peter isn't a teenager anymore. This new?
Yeah, it’s a new series where the Ultimate Universe was reset. It’s worth catching up on, they’re pretty good!
Clearly, MJ embodies all the qualities you mentioned. Peter, on the other hand, is aloof and dishonest about his true identity from the very first issue. Harry has just given Peter some sound advice on the importance of being honest with people you supposedly trust and who should be able to trust you.
Regarding Harry, six months from Issue 1, what will he think of anyone that sides with a Stark, after their return. “I hear screams and sirens. I hear all of us crying out in pain because a part of our future was stolen and in exchange all we got were memories. It’s just not enough. And I’m not sure any of us should be expected to live with it.”
It will be interesting going forward. Clearly these are Peter's flaws as a character and they'll be unpacked and portrayed in some sort of story in the near future.

@@dibyaudhdas1978 It is going to be difficult for anyone in the Ultimate Universe to keep a secret, given the Maker knows pretty much everything about them.
For Peter, the list of people that he already is aware know his identity just keeps growing and MJ’s not on it. Someone believed to be responsible for killing his aunt. A guy that has no problem revealing his identity in broad daylight and then his wife. A child that he feels it is safe enough to go swinging around the city with.
We think the next time the trio unite, they will be best of friends and kick Kang's ass. But imagine what a sad twist and expectations subversion it would be if Kang forces the three spidermen to fight each other to save their respective universes. AND GUESS WHAT WILL BE TOO WILD... TOM UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE SYMBIOTE KILLS TOBEY AND HAS A CHANGE OF HEART RIGHT BEFORE KILLING ANDREW. SINCE THE HEROES DIDN'T FIGHT ANYMORE KANG ORDERS THE SYMBIOTE TO KILL TOM. ANDREW TRIES TO BRING HIM OUT OF THE SYMBIOTE BUT WHAT COMES OUT IS HIS SKELETON!!!
My thoughts after reading this issue was, "So that was just one long dinner scene of Peter and MJ on a double date with Harry and Gwen.... And it was somehow really good and engaging still!" That is just fantastic writing where the there is no action and the title character doesn't suit up and the issue is still really enjoyable and good.
I don’t like this way of thinking but I could see it. I will imagine Peter won’t take Harry’s quote seriously and is likely going to die next issue. Then Gwen becomes the evil Goblin. Someone said Gwen kinda has the “confrontational CEO” think like Norman does. Maybe then Harry either comes back as Venom or Hobgoblin or something. I’m also not completely unconvinced Norman faked his death and will come back at some point.
These are interesting concepts. It will be fun to see how they unravel.
Honestly after everything Marvel has done with this character through out the years, I'm at a point where I'm just sick of this character in general.

I’m guessing Harry being able to manipulate Peter’s suit from last issue will come into play when Peter and the green goblin fight cuz as we learned in this issue Ozcorpe basically bought stark industries that’s why Harry was able to take off Peter’s mask last issue I’m guessing there’s gonna be fallout from Peter not telling mj that he’s spiderman and when they makeup as a sign of her support she’s gonna make him the clothe version

The story itself is solid!
I thought the art style generally was refreshing .
I made it stand out than generic comic art I see these days and kinda had the posterish vibes.

I think the writers' goal of separating Mary Jane from Peter is to introduce a Zendaya who is Peter's new partner and whose name is MJ.

They are once again trying to stay clear of MJ just being a model and an actress, instead they are making her a businesswoman and it's so plainly obvious what they are trying to do here, it's a little bit cringe. BUT it's leagues better than anything we've had recently.

I think it’s actually really clever to have the “great power” line come from Harry, because I think it’s foreshadowing the dichotomy between the two. Because with great power comes great responsibility… to do what? To act within limits (Spider-Man), or to act without limits (Green Goblin)? This all assuming Harry spirals into villainy/anti-heroism like everyone is theorizing.
I for real just want too see Teresa Parker(Peters sister) finally meet Mary Jane.

Gwen was great before her ultimate death. Since her return it felt like the writers forgot who she was originally and she became a background character rather than a main one. It's like they decided that making her likeable for maximum impact was no longer necessary after the event. It didn't make much sense.
I do think it's kinda sad that they went with PR rather than having her working in fashion or in film, but I can see that they were still respecting her roots from the original comics. Like you can see how Michelinie/80s Era MJ could have transitioned into this career. I also think it functions well with what Ben and Jonah are doing too and it allows MJ to participate more in the future of the book. I always liked that MJ sort of had her own thing going on in the original comics separate from the Peter/spidey side of things but given how decompressed Hickman is writing this he wouldn't have had the time for that. Frankly, doing it this way is just more efficient in general, too.
Her being in PR also allows for interesting conversations with peter down the line about how to improve the spiderman "brand"

The Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows and The Ultimate Spider-Man universe are where it's at with Mary Jane. They nail MJ as the great character she is. Both MJ's are mature, loving and supportive wives to their respective Peter Parker. Both are great mothers. Spinneret with her daughter. Ultimate MJ with her son and daughter.
The Spectacular Spider-Man show version of MJ is great too. Shame it got cancelled. Thanks to this brilliant bloke he has made what The Spectacular Spider-Man could have been if it wasn't cancelled. It's great stuff. Especially the relationship between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson.
I have a bad feeling about this like I hope that MJ doesn’t cheat on Peter with Harry like always or maybe vice versa that Peter would cheat on MJ for Gwen. Because I really don’t know is Peter smart or stupid as in the last issue

This issue don't have Peter in costume, yet it's tenfold more interesting, enjoyable and respectfull to the character then anything coming form the main comics.
It's still crazy, and frustating they haven't yet remove the plug from ASM, especially whit the enormous success of the Ultimate title

I love this book so much and seeing Peter and Mary Jane interact with each other being a great family along side ultimate Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn is super interesting in my opinion.

Ultimate Spider-Man has not fixed Mary Jane imo. In fact, it has reduced her character to nothing but a self-employed girl boss who doesn’t have any interesting flaws. As well as that, Hickman’s versions of Harry and Gwen are nothing more than selfish, snobbish entrepreneurs, far from the versions of the characters that we grew up with in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s

It isnt' the 60s/70s/80-s/90s anymore, and MJ with flaws is what nobody wants to see. The newspaper strip proves MJ doesn't need any flaws and can still be interesting.
