Not going to lie, I see this as a win for these guys. Media should get some facts straight, but this aircraft will serve well fighting fires in the region!
To set the record straight. Coulson is, by no metric, "The world's largest aerial fire fighting company". Nor, at 5000 us gal, is it the largest capacity air tanker currently operating.
This is outstanding!!! Its my hope these folks will go 1,000% hard at their cause in keeping fires from spreading which results in the loss of property, environment, ecosystems and most of all, LIFE!. Good on ya!!!
I’ve never really payed attention. If you based at the right airport, with low enough traffic, and not a bunch of taxiway to get to the runway, how long would be reasonable to get airborne, systems cold, dispatch to wheels up?
The problem with the A10 is the Gatling gun installation. It weighs over 5 tons and is integrated into the structure of the nose landing gear. It would have to be removed to lighten the aircraft enough to carry a decent retardant load but that would mean reengineering the entire forward structure at a cost of many millions. The juice wouldn’t be worth the squeeze.
CDF was looking into them at one point and I believe they ironed out the structural and weight and balanced issue but it was extremely difficult to convince Congress to release mid to high time airframes as they are still part of the U.S. arsenal.
This is a Boeing 737-700 this aircraft was built before Boeing became a cheap money grab. Also the Boeing 737-900 is the one with the door it fell off. So please get your facts straight
Sounds like they will bring it to the US and continue their cabotage. Try flying a US registered plane in Canada for revenue flights and see what type of response you get.
Imagine if they were headquartered in an area that was prone to forest fires? I bet the local government there would bend over backwards for their services.
Imagine if the company that was based in an area prone to forest fires actually did the work, qualified, and bid on contracts, they actually might get some rather than using the media to rile up the public and expecting to be given a contact.
They could bid on the contracts like the legitimate Canadian companies that have aircraft that are certified in Canada. But since they can’t be bothered to comply with Canadian certification requirements, they aren’t qualified to bid.
Do you propose the clients maintain their own 737 fleet year round? Or that one of the governments maintain a large 737 fleet and loan them out like a business to others around the world?
Why don’t you complain about every other private company that provides emergency equipment and services to government including health care providers, military equipment manufacturers or firetruck manufacturers?
@@johnarnold893 not for profit organisations. He in my country, we maintain our own fire fighting fleets and let oir neighbours borrow them. We don't gouge them for profit during their time of crisis.
She served us well here at Southwest and it will continue to serve. I’m glad she’s going to be used for beneficial service.
*N7841A* I have flown on that aircraft at least twice. Really old interior. It was definitely on the short list for retirement.
That was quite the landing 😂
It sure was but I’m sure none of us here are qualified 737 pilots?
Gotta love it when people who couldn't do better still criticize.
Well, Yes I just got back from A 737 Sim from Columbus.
So Yes the landing…..
Ease up on the criticism guys. It hard enough landing a 737, but to do it while balancing a burger and fries in your lap should be commended 😉
Fabulous addition to the fleet at Coulson!
I love these guys. Australia is so thankful
Coulson has been working the Applegate fire today right in front of my deck... what an airshow it has been. GREAT Job so far !

The pilot put it perfectly. It lives on in a very honorable mission. Good show 👍

Yup, the 747 supertanker does almost 20,000 gallons.
yeah wtf is up with all the blatantly false erroneous lies here
@@andybadertscher9063the 747 super tanker hasn’t existed for 3 years
Typical Coulson. Say a lie long enough and people (especially the media) are going to believe it.
@jakeoesterreich8037 the DC-10, of which 10 Tanker Corp has 3 or 4 I believe, are the largest land tankers operating.
And its got wifi!
Any Coulson modified aircraft is a top performer and well done. Best name in aviation today.
I cant take anything a guy with a manbun says seriously 😣
Many thanks to Coulson for saving both the Martin Mars.👍❤️

on 6 February 2023 Coulson crashed a 737-300 at Fitzgerald River National Park western Australia both pilots survived !!
That was also an ex SWA 737
Great story - great to know this bird will still be flying even after my time on earth is done.
Thanks, wildland firefighters!
Very cool!

Satellite Datalink Antenna. (Provided wifi for passengers)
The Southwest pilots had to walk back to Dallas. So sad.
Greyhound Bus 🎉
That is really cool. May it serve the fire fighters well. I may have even ridden on that 737 at one time?😎😎
Only a 5000 ft runway, get her down and get her stopped....
Nice
"It's our last landing boys let's make it a good one!"

5000 gallons, wow that’s huge! . I wish there wasn’t a moratorium on the A-10 as I can see those being very successful fire fighting aircraft as well.

So at 60,000 hours with plenty remaining for your service how old is this737?
❤❤
hey take one of the united 757s once they retire them
They usually go to freight carriers for shorter hops, they are loved by carriers who use the 767’s since they share the same cockpit systems.
For a second there I thought Southwest was going to start serving Canada.
That would be great news. We could benefit from the competition. 🛬

It’s not clapped out.

kinda hard landing i say...
Gee I wonder what airline had that before

Isn’t Southwest having to cut routes due to lack of aircraft?

there was a southwest 737 parked there 2 years ago. anyone know who owned that one?
I think they crashed that one
If they make too many more of those hard landings, it will be in the scrap heap very soon.
