    Don’t feel pressure to get a magic band… but it’s one of my favorite thing!!! LOL It’s so much more practical then using your phone. Magic band doesn’t need to charge during the day, is waterproof, kids can have one… the best!

But, after watching this video, I am terrified! I knew the parks like the back of my hand and always followed the same route. Everything looks so different and it looks even more crowded! Plus, Disney has added a million new ways for us to spend money! I'm going to have alot to learn to make this trip a success.

    How is that enforced, the staying late option? Unless it's something you scan a Magic band for, say, like a ride or show, how do they differentiate who can stay once they're in?

  • @mexsta132
    @mexsta132 Год назад

    Went 2 weeks ago to magic kingdom. Got off the boat and scanned my annual pass. No wait lines or bag checks. Went straight into park by 8am. Waited until 8:30 to be allowed into areas to start going in rides though. Pretty much did the majority of rides with no wait and if there was a wait I used lighting lanes. Park started to get crowded by 12pm. Wasn’t too bad to walk around but the more popular rides had big wait times. This was on a Sunday. My Disney experience app was super helpful and definitely recommended.

    If you have eyeglass cases or an umbrella, take them out of your bag and hold them in front of you when passing through the new security screening at park entrances. These items tend to set off the scanners (and you will be pulled aside for a bag check).

    • @chriswhiteauditions
      @chriswhiteauditions 2 года назад +3

      Yes - this is a time saver when going through security! Also, try to avoid wearing any clothing that has metal tips/edges on it. Sounds kinda weird, but even an insignificant amount of metal can set off the scanners. When approaching security at HS and MK, I removed my umbrella from my bag, but still got stopped. On both days I was wearing joggers that had metal tips at the end of the drawstrings. I had to get scanned two more times and have my bag searched twice because of those tiny metal tips. The MK security guards were confused at why the scanner kept going off, but when I pointed out the metal tips on the drawstrings, they realized that the tips were the culprit.

    We only used rider swap once during this trip, and we had to wait in line outside of the queue for 15 minutes before we could even get to the entrance to do it, and the cast member tried to talk us out of it lol it was a very bizarre experience, she asked a bunch of questions, and then asked if my 4 year wanted to just wait in line with us (70 min wait for Big Thunder Mountain in the middle of the day…um, no. That is the point of the entire thing, he was seconds from a melt down, hot and hungry with ZERO interest in riding) …eventually she called another cast member over who did it for us, but it was super bizarre. I’ve usually had no issues with the service before, but this one was a head scratcher. I think there are a lot of new cast members still figuring things out. Patience is key.

    13:31 We got rejected from using rider swap for the Flight of Passage ride, my wife had to wait outside with our son while I queued then when I was done she had to queue. It is really difficult to book a value resort in only a couple of months. The only things available in the off season are the higher priced family suites, which can be as expensive as staying at some moderates. Prices have risen so much that people who would normally stay at moderate are booking value, and those who’d normally book deluxe are either booking moderate or just skipping, deciding that a European vacation is cheaper.

    Kroger delivery is now in the central Florida area. There are no stores, but they bring everything in refrigerated trucks. The prices are the same as in store with great sales. First couple orders are free delivery trial. And they don't allow tipping here. So, none of those crazy extra fees. I live near WDW and I've been using it weekly saving a fortune over even Aldi when getting sales. Only problem is it usually takes 1-2 days for delivery because it comes from northern florida.

    Smuggler’s Run: Walk on. Rode 3 times in a row in less than 30 minutes AND got to ride with my brother two of those times! (50 minute wait regularly)
    Getting in line last minute:

    The cool thing about single rider queues is that they benefit both ride operators, and the guests. There should be a push for more single rider queues amongst all of the rides at the parks, as they would help ease traffic times. ive noticed they added single rider queues to rides in recent years, with little known entrances set aside. I think these single rider queues should be better advertised, but since they don't see the money in that they wouldn't.

    My bring back 2022 excitement: PARKING LOT TRAMS!!!!!! Save the walking for in the park lol. Never thought my most exciting moment at Disney would be to see the parking lot tram 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • @mollyfrank679
      @mollyfrank679 2 года назад

      The only problem with that is when you arrive there may be a huge line for trams. We never rode one when we were there MLK week because the wait was horrendous. Parking was not bad, so the walk was doable. Just be prepared-- it seems the parks are only going to get more busy!

    Question for you! If you have an early reservation for breakfast and aren’t staying on property can you leave your car at the hotel and take Disney skyline to Epcot for instance? Or is there a time limit on how long your car can be parked in the hotel lot?

  • @bman6502
    @bman6502 2 года назад +4

    Here’s a ticket tip(if not using magicband ). You have to have a physical ticket to get into parks. If you bought e-tickets, you’ll need to stop at Will Call first to convert to hard ticket. That line might be long, so when buying tickets, request physical ticket be mailed to you. You’ll still receive email with ticket info so you can upload to your Disney magic account before hard copies get to you. Don’t be that person who shows up to the gate with your tickets on your phone… you’ll get sent to will call….

      I agree… so much pressure to get it all right. We’re going in June, just got our tickets and need to reserve the parks each day, then have to be up at 3am on April 8th to reserve dinning, then have to get the genie app loaded and figure out the plus system… each day of trip, have to be ready at 7am to lock in the first ride of the day, then figure out best time to eat lunch, etc, etc….. I’m sure I’m missing other “need to do” items….. damm

    • @mollyfrank679

      @@bman6502 is this your first trip? I could completely understand all the planning if it is your first time. We just got back from our 6th trip and felt it was very easy-- we did not even use Genie+ and got to ride everything we wanted. But seeing as how you are going in June (busy season) you may really want to look at how good Genie+ is actually going to be given the money you will spend for it. We spoke to several people in the parks that complained that the service was not worth the money. I'm sorry it's so stressful, but if you can simplify things and come to the realization that everything will not be perfect & you most likely won't get to do everything you hoped for-- then you should have a wonderful time. Just don't set your expectations too high or you'll be in for major disappointment.

      I've been many times but it's been been a while. I totally agree with you. It sounds too complicated and too crowded. I can wait a couple of years and take my granddaughter to England for this kind of $$$! Every kid should get to go to The Magic Kingdom but it is even fun anymore?

      Tip #1-Don't let them out of your sight for a minute! #2-Make a list of all you want to do then give each item a number between 1-5 to prioritize. Do all of your #1's first. IMO, 5 years old is the absolute youngest any child should go to WDW. Have some activities for your child to do during long lines. Play games like "I Spy". If they are small enough, rent a stroller. There is alot of walking and standing and their little legs get tired. When your child gets too hot, head for the shops to walk around and cool off. As soon as they get hot, tired, and cranky, head back to the hotel for some pool time. The object of the trip is to have an epic time and to make wonderful memories. It is not to see and do everything or to get your money's worth. Keep yourself and your kid hap, hap, happy rather than allow yourselves to become miserable. When my kids were small, we would be among the first to arrive in the morning. (Take some granola-type bars and juice boxes for breakfast on the way.) We would stay until about 1pm, they go back for a nap or to watch TV with the lights off. After a quick dinner, we would head back to the park until close. Back in the day, people would start to leave around 4-5pm. And above all, take them to the restroom before getting into any long lines! It's nothing worse than for a kid to say, "I have to go" after you've been waiting in line for an hour Good luck!

    I was at Magic Kingdom just today and oh.my.god. The lines were absolutely INSANE. The weather was cold and windy, the food was bland and overly priced and I’m from a high cost of living city. This was my husband’s and daughter’s first time, and we all agreed we won’t be back to Disney after this. When your 5 yr old isn’t interested in 2 hr lines and mediocre food, you know it’s not a good day. BUT the enchantment was the only silver lining.
