I agree. I enjoy Adam Sandler movies somewhat OK one time, and then never watch them again. However The Wedding Singer + Big Daddy + Waterboy is pretty good and i've watched them multiple times since 2000s
The actor who plays Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) was in a movie called Dutch (1991?). It stars Ed O'Neil from Married with Children and more recently the show Modern Family. Ethan Embry is in the movie also. It's pretty funny, but a little messed up 😂
The big guy that beat the hell out of Shooter McGavin was a famous actor who was best known for playing Jaws, the most popular James Bond villain of all time.
I think he had problems standing which would account for him sometimes leaning on someone and filming him from the waist up. But growing up on those Bond films I was happy to see him in this.
That guy is Lee Buck Trevino is an American retired professional golfer who is regarded as one of the greatest players in golf history. He was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. Trevino won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career
Back in the 90's i used to get free VIP tickets to a lot of golf tournaments. At one of the Senior tournaments after the final round my friend and I ran into Lee Trevino. I asked him if he would sign my program, he told me to F*ck Off. On the upside both Arnold Palmer and Chi Chi Rodriguez were more than happy to spend a few minutes talking with us and signing autographs. Maybe Lee was just having a bad day.
About time you got around to this one! You gotta add Grandma's Boy and Little Nicky to your to do list. Several of the cast members in both films were in Happy Gilmore, and Sandler is one of the executive producers for them as well (Happy Madison Productions). Watch Little Nicky first so you can get all of the "hey, that's the guy from" moments.
4:47 hockey and golf are pretty transferable swing wise. Guys that played hockey can usually mash the golf ball cause they can creat so much torque with their golf swing like they do they’re slapshot
The actor playing the IRS agent is Robert Smigel the voice or "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog". Also something I found interesting the young blonde kid playing Happy's caddy is Jared Van Snellenberg who went on to be a Professor of Psychiatry specializing in Schizophrenia Neuroimaging. The huge guy playing Happy's ex-boss is actor Richard Kiel who starred in two James Bond movies in the 70's.
Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson are the best pairing in 2003’s “Anger Management”. A great supporting cast including Marisa Tomei, Heather Graham, John C. Reilly and Woody Harrelson, among others, makes for a heck of a funny movie!
I've worked in healthcare for over 15 years. Working nights, anytime someone would ask for a glass of warm milk, I can't help but laugh instantly thinking of Ben Stiller in this. Also, love how Chubbs is just holding onto the prosthetic hand the whole movie making his arm extra long and awkward looking!
Love your reaction bro!!! Okay so here's the ultimate Sandler list!!! Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Big Daddy, Mr. Deeds, Little Nicky, Anger Management, 50 first dates and The Longest Yard. Hes done some fantastic films that are dramas like Uncut Gems , Punch Drunk Love , Spanglish and Hustle but im just going with comedy for now!!!
As a teenager I used to try a similar momentum based golf swing on the driving range, and would crush the ball on the occasions that I'd make solid contact. Hit a tree 🌳 by the 200 yard marker while the ball was still rising. Every wooden club in my cheap set eventually (quickly actually) got bent and warped.
A bit off topic here......but so what...lol. There use to be a NASCAR driver named Dick Trickle, I use to cheer for him in every race. He didn't have some of the huge sponsors and multiple cars like a number of the younger drivers who were racing back then, but he often managed to at least finish the race...which those huge sponsored drivers didn't do, because they got into fender benders up front, and often near the end of the race. He was a fan favorite. He, Harry Gant, Cal Yarborough, Richard Petty, and a few others were some of the older drivers back then, in an age where NASCAR was hitting it big time, and new safety equipment, communication equipment, and a different set of driving skills were coming into play, especially with restrictor plate racing. But they all did quite well in adapting to the changes...only quitting when age, rather than their cars, slowed them up. I was saddened to hear that he killed himself when he was around 70 years old, I guess he had been dealing with a lot of physical pain.
This one will always be a classic for me. I watched uncut gems recently. I think you would enjoy that one as well. He can pull off dramatic roles. I always enjoy your take on films.
Can'T wait until you react to 50 first dates :) One of my all time favorits :) .... Please excuse my terrible english. I am from Austria. I don't look like Arnold, but i talk like him :P
Actually, they did put the Happy Gilmore swing to practice and it can indeed further the distance, however accuracy is the main issue so it's not an efficient method
A great hidden gem, is Blended, with Drew Barrymore, and a great Terry crews content too. I would recommend watching "the wedding singer" and "50 first dates" first though
The more Sandler movies you watch you will like him more I guarantee. And he is not exclusively comedic in his moves. He has serious range. And ignore those telling you he declined after a certain period. they are ignorant.
Adam Sandler is more controversial than a "love him or hate him" comedian. He can make a great movie when he wants to, a divisive movie when he indulges, and zero effort schlock when he's fully in "free vacation" mode. The last of those is a very real thing; Sandler uses his projects to net free vacations for himself and his friends (who also tend to get hired for his movies).
I love this movie. Watching again and again makes you laugh more at all the various comdiec pain in the movie, like the guy who gets knocked out of his window, then his wife on the porch.
As you mentioned near the start the sports don't really intertwine. But for hockey players it's one of the most skilled sports in the world and they can generally pick up any sport with ease and be good at it. They are also known to play golf a lot in the hockey off-season.
I love Christopher Mcdonald. Doesn't matter if its serious or comedic he commits 100% and delivers. Shooter McGavin will get his revenge in the sequel 🤞
Sandler is consistent in his inconsistency. There is a handful of his movies that are great and a steaming pile of WTF next to it. Sandler had creative control in many of his movies and I think that was his undoing.
Great reaction bro! You laughed at all the right parts... even the ridiculous ones. The guy they always show, but only has one line is Lee Trevino, an actual professional golfer..✌
p.s. Lee Trevino is not just a PGA pro he is a Hall of Fame golfer with 6 Major wins. He also had no idea what the movie was about when he agreed to do those inserts. Says he wouldn't have been in it if he had a clue what the movie was about 😅.
@@markmaioli4 My understanding is that his objection was not to what the movie was about but to all the foul language in it. He said had he read the script he would have passed on it. But who expects that kind of language in a golf movie?! He seemed perfectly suited for the role, however, if they were looking for a golf legend who was not quite as famous as, say, Nicklaus, Palmer or Woods, but still recognizable.
I'm so glad to see you posting more often. However, if I may be so bold....you are a smart guy, so not a part of the majority in this game. You quickly became one of my very few favorite "reactors", because you're a smart, sensitive, analytical guy who actually DOES "react" and give an intelligent commentary on the films you share. THAT is why I watch these reactor things in the first place. There are SOOOO many well written, well acted, beautifully designed and produced films out there, films with actual dialog, a story and character development, so many GREAT films done about actual historical events or even just based loosely on real life...and you preview THIS?? You're a fun, smart, curious, intellectual guy who understands story telling, and that this kind of mindless tripe takes up time/space on your channel is a travesty and a drag. You are too good at this to have #'s like you do. It's because of this mess. Preview Green Book ( Mahershala Ali, Viggo Mortensen), Murder in the First (Kevin Bacon, Christian Slater), Dead Man Walking (Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon), What Dreams May Come (Robin Williams, Annabella Sciorra), Hidden Figures (Teraji P Henson, Octavia Spenser, Janelle Monae). And Sooooo many more. Your numbers will grow and you'll actually get to watch some quality film. But KEEP doin you!! ✌️🎬
Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer and this one, in that order, are my favorite AS movies. Click is also a great movie. Funny, but heartfelt. There are soo many parts of this movie that my husband and I still quote. I was in high school when this came out. It was and still is funny af. Adam is hilarious and down to earth. I love him.
Adam Sandler is really good at delegating the funny and spreading it around the cast in his movies. By the way small PSA: no exploration of the works of Adam Sandler is complete without The Wedding Singer, Waterboy and 50 First Dates - there's a couple of others worth watching, but that's your prime cuts of Sandler.
You need to watch the wedding singer, and the water boy. Then "little nicky" characters from the water boy, happy Gilmore, and the wedding singer appear in little nicky
I know a lot of people hate on his movies but Adam Sandler is a genuinely humble and good person. I put him up there with Keanu Reeves and Morgan Freeman.
Love this movie! You need to watch 'The Waterboy', 'The Wedding Singer', and 'Billy Madison'. His 90s movies were great! Once 2000 hit and he did 'Little Nicky', it was all downhill from there, but you can't go wrong with 90s Adam Sandler.
My favorite Sandler movie is Click, and he has some great songs. The Thanksgiving song, the Habakkuk song and one called Phone Wallet Keys. 🤣
The fight with Bob Barker is one of the greatest scenes in film history.
This is one of Adam Sandler's best movie. You should watch The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy
Yes and yes. Would love to see those reactions, especially The Wedding Singer because I don't see many reactions for that movie.
"No Colonel Sanders. You're wrong. Mama's right!"
I agree.
I enjoy Adam Sandler movies somewhat OK one time, and then never watch them again.
However The Wedding Singer + Big Daddy + Waterboy is pretty good and i've watched them multiple times since 2000s
Big Daddy and Click are also great. Click in particular. Would recommend it before any of the others.

The Golf-Chef-Manager-It-Dont-Know-How-its-called is the Director Dennis Dugan
The big guy that beat the hell out of Shooter McGavin was a famous actor who was best known for playing Jaws, the most popular James Bond villain of all time.
I think he had problems standing which would account for him sometimes leaning on someone and filming him from the waist up. But growing up on those Bond films I was happy to see him in this.
Also he was the tall alien in twilight zone episode “To Serve Man” (it’s a cook book)
@@geneeverett33 oh yeah I forgot that.
I also believe he is or was big in the golf industry and if I'm not mistaken he might have owned the course this was filmed on
Here are some clips of him ruclips.net/video/V9viObEpCck/видео.html
That guy is Lee Buck Trevino is an American retired professional golfer who is regarded as one of the greatest players in golf history. He was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. Trevino won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career
I only knew him because he had a Nintendo game, Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf.
He apparently regrets his involvement lol
Back in the 90's i used to get free VIP tickets to a lot of golf tournaments. At one of the Senior tournaments after the final round my friend and I ran into Lee Trevino. I was going to add this until I saw your comment.
He even got parodied in classic Simpsons, Lee Carvalo's Putting Challenge. You have selected... driver.
The guy with the nail in his head(Richard Kiel who is 7 ft 2!!!!!!) played villain "Jaws" in James Bond movies The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.
Thank you, came here for this.
"you eat pieces of shit for breakfast?!" lmfao that's classic

Myself and every hockey player I knew could golf pretty well. Slap shot mechanics help!!

that is the same arm the Predator shot off FYI LOLZ
@Mike Smollin Soooo, the "alligator" might actually be the predator!? Goof cover story! lol
Stiller steals every scene he's in😂
Definitely a classic. One of his best. Sandler actually co-wrote the screenplay for this one. ♥
Fun fact the actor who plays the IRS agent at the beginning is also the voice of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
I have the Chubbs Funco Pop toy and I got Carl Weathers to sign it last year. It's one of my favorite collectibles.
Telling Happy Gilmore to "Relax", is like telling Anakin Skywalker to "Calm down".
Definitely one of my favorite lines ever in a film the delivery is just impeccable "you will go to sleep. Or I will put you to sleep."
The Random nodding guy is Lee Trevino, he is a Texas born Golf legend.
“Anger management vs Old Man Strength” 😁
Nice one.
That guy throughout the movie shaking his head at Happy and commenting that Grizzly Adams did have a beard is professional golfer, Lee Trevino
the guy that always shows up shaking his head is Lee Trevino one of the worlds legendary golfers
This one of my favorite movies ever right here
Carl Weathers holds his hands up and the piano is still playing, haha..
The Bob Barker scene always gold
Happy Gilmore! Brought to by Subway sandwiches. When the guy caught the sub in his mouth, it sounded like two wooden planks hitting together 😆
Chubs has a cameo in Adam Sandler's movie "Little Nicky." This was one of Ben Stiller's earliest movie roles.
That’s funny because I thought he was like a recruiter
This was my favourite movie growing up

Lee Trevino - great back in the day in the PGA

I totally agree with his assessment about this being a good movie where Adam Sandler's comedy style shines. Same as Chris Farley in Tommy Boy.
Adam Sandler played the role of one of Theo's friends in the Cosby Show. That was in the early 90's I think
Bob barker was trained By Chuck and Aaron Norris he was a black belt
The guy who keeps showing up I think is Lee Trevino. Golf legend
Need to watch one of these please:
True Romance - Quentin Tarantino
Natural Born Killers - woody harrelson
Half Baked - Dave chapele
Yeah, he used to be good at that. But now he just phones it in. I look forward to watching his earlier work! It's a fun ride!

Watch the "Water Boy" with him
Ben Stiller killed it in this 😆
I know a lot of people hate on his movies but Adam Sandler is a genuinely humble and good person. I put him up there with Keanu Reeves and Morgan Freeman.
Hockey is absolutely relatable to golf swing wise… there are some pro hockey players out there that are scratch golfers..
One of Stiller's small, earliest roles was in the Cable Guy. Jim Carrey is twisted and hilarious in it
Ben Stiller directed that one also
Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross are the ones singing Endless Love
Should check out a movie called Action Jackson staring Carl Weathers.
I'm a golfer & have found that hockey players usually hit the ball a long way, but dont swing like Happy 😉
