    Very informative video. I'm trying to gather information about these systems.
    The interaction of the radar and visual AI for the longitudinal is interesting, since indeed the radar does have a very good performance in some département. This leads me to another topic the I'll have to inquire before buying, its the ability for sunny pilot to also use GPS data of the car (or of preloaded or live loaded map) to anticipate turns and reduce speed.
    Some manufacturers have version of adaptative cruise where the radar data is mixed with GPS data to adjust speed, and it is very efficient at giving an additional layer of protection against overspeeding before a curve. This could probably be of great help to the AI longitudinal control too. But it may be already possible with sunny pilot.

    Nice video! I have a 23 F150 xlt with lane keeping but no adaptive cruise or forward camera. Do you think this could still work and add collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control? Have you heard of "bluepilot"

    • @ajzride
      @ajzride  4 месяца назад

      I might know a thing or two about bluepilot, you can read more here:
      www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/introducing-bluepilot-a-ford-specific-fork-for-comma3x-openpilot.24241/
      The way Ford's logic works, lane centering and acceleration signals on the canbus are blocked if the ACC radar module is not detected on startup. To get the Comma to work you must install the radar module and wire it up. Once that is done, the Comma will work perfectly. There is a thread here about adding the radar module DIY:

      @@adamrupert9238 Only if you add the ACC radar. Without that the Ford modules would reject any commands from the Comma3x. Last I checked the cost to add the ACC radar was about $500.

    Sick video, saw you mounted the c3x after sticking the adhesive on, how has that mount been? Just recieved a c3x today, eager to install and take it for a test

    • @ajzride
      @ajzride  Год назад +2

      In my initial video I did stock the mount on and go for it, but that was always a temporary mounting solution. it did fail one day when it was really hot. I came out to the car to find the comma on the dash with a chip in the screen. Comma says it's okay to go for a test drive (15-30 minutes), but then it should be removed for the cure time. My suggestion is if you have a road trip coming up and can't let it cure is to use both mounts comma sends. Mount one exactly where you want it, leave that one to cure and put the second one right under and drive using that one for 3 days. Then swap and remove the lower one.

    • @ajzride

      Right now SunnyPilot is adopting pull request much faster than Comma, so radar is only in SunnyPilot. One day I’m sure comma will upstream the code.
      I wish I could understand and explain the technical details of how Genie figured out the radar, but I’m just the test pilot 😂

    • @ajzride

      If you are referring to the distance ACC follows the lead car, that is adjusted in OP using the "driving personality". For me maniac on Op and the closest bar on stock ford are both too far for Houston traffic.

    Quick question. I've got a 2022 F150 XL. I don't have ACC, so no radar. Would this still work with my truck? I'm assuming I'd still need to hold actively accelerate/brake, but could be hands free.

    • @ajzride
      @ajzride  9 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately without ACC, the truck will reject the steering commands from the Comma (Ford designed it that way). The good news is adding ACC isn't that hard, you can read through this thread here (the thread is long, but once it was figured out it's pretty straightforward): www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/adding-co-pilot-assist-2-0-with-forscan.5028/
