    We have owned Staffordshire Pitbull mixes and German Sherperd for many years now. Dogs teach us so much, if we take the time to notice. On walks I let my pups smell when they want to, they want to read the pee mail and also leave their own pee mail. What amazes me is how many humans are quite dumb around dogs. We definitely need more schools for Dog and human training

    I don’t think that dogs specifically want you to regurgitate food. In a book I was reading about dogs a couple of years ago. It described dogs as also having high intensity for smell and whenever they lick you, they want to smell and taste everything that’s been around you. So maybe it’s food but I doubt they want you to throw up in front of them.

    when we take our pooch out for a walk, my partner and I joke that he's "checking his emails" or if he sniffs us when we get home, then he's "checking the messages" on us haha. Dogs are fantastic and they definitely adjust their communication to us in a way that feels unique from other creatures. When dogs develop eyebrows to better express their faces to us, that's how you know the friendship between human and dog is meant to be.

    Tony needs to learn something about dog behavior. He starts out getting right in the dog's face. A dog who doesn't know him at all. The dog is obviously stressed (looking away, closed mouth and lip licking) Then he ends up getting on the floor, crowding the dog. OMG

      I thought the same thing! Totally wrong way to approach a dog.

  • @michelletanner7047

    Oh, that's one thing he shouldn't have done at the end. Lay on the floor next to the dog. You have to ask the dogs' permission. If it's okay for you to approach her.
    In the beginning, when you were petting her, look at the dogs reaction, look at her face, she didn't want you coming up to her at all. You have to know a dog sign before you walk up to them.. no, i'm not a dog expert, but i'm just saying. common sense

    As soon as she compared dog behavior to wolves, I got skeptical. Dogs and wolves are separated by 15,000 years of evolution and breeding. And domesticated dogs don't live in independent packs (if they ever did), the way wild dogs or wolves do. There are so many studies on wolf behavior and canine behavior that prove many important differences. Both animals have been harmed that comparison!

    The host mentioned that wolves regurgitate kind of like birds and the expert said no not really like birds. But birds absolutely do that too with other birds and even the people they live with.

      She thought the interviewer meant regurgitate a bird… that’s why she said no like a moose…. Meaning the wolf ate a moose- not a bird. They were not on the same page

    • @MashaT22
      @MashaT22 Месяц назад +4

      First off, she wasn’t giving advice. She was merely explaining how to interpret dog behaviors according to her own and other well-known research. Giving advice and interpreting behaviors are two very different concepts.
      Second, if you want to take advice from a “trainer” who has abused and put dogs in danger, along with dogs dying under his training program, then yes - go on ahead. And no, I’m not one of those weird positive only people who doesn’t like Cesar because I never believe in telling a dog no and correcting where needed. I’m a service dog handler who was well educated by a respected program who taught us how to use mostly positive reinforcement while knowing when and how to effectively communicate and correct a dog when they do something wrong. Cesar’s history speaks for itself if you know anything about canine behavior and dog training - and he’s been sued I don’t know how many times by people whose dogs were returned underfed, injured, and/or because they died in his care while boarding at his training program. He has no knowledge about canine behavior. A lot of his methods are very outdated and actually make dogs behave worse and get more stressed long term. They show you a scared dog who performs on camera while he’s there. The moment the camera turn off and he’s gone, it’s a whole other story. I hate to think what happened to those dogs he’s ever “rehabilitated” based on all the online firsthand accounts from people who hired him because they trusted that someone on TV must know what they’re doing.

      @@tessi6886 I would go to someone with experience, not just book knowledge. I'm not opposed to all University education, but you don't need that to learn to understand dogs. And just because you have a University education does not mean you know anything about how the real world works. If I had an aggressive dog that needed help, I do not believe this lady could do it. She didn't even have control over a golden retriever.
