I'VE BEEN TO THAILAND IN THE EARLY '70's, AFTER THE PIECE IS FINISHED, THEY HEAT AND DRAIN THE PIECE AND RESEAL IT. BEST HAND ARTISANS IN THE WORLD I'VE STILL GOT SOME NICE WORK FROM THERE.
This is a very typical Nepali design. The draining of the piece depends on customer.

What makes me happy to see is its hand made and made with pure gold. people now days or at least people in the usa do not understand the how much better pure gold and silver items are and that hand made products show that someone pute their time and efert into making something for you that's not stamped out in a factory. Its really beautiful but it's hollow (meaning its not solid gold) which means if I accidently bang it it will dent. The design looks like something from ages ago. Something a king or queen would wear.

Since high karat jewelry is priced by weight , is it not cheating when you add the wax inside , you did not show the weight before the wax, this is definitely not for export

no,sir...have you not noticed the hole he drilled ..after ward he reheat and the material melted out of the hole ...collect it and reuse that material..that is how it is done..he did not show the audience the last step...the bangle is now all gold ( he will has to mark his initial on the bangle and deliver to the store who order ...his initial guarantees his work for future complaints if it is not up to the standard ..this is to preserve ethical ( if there is still any left much) ..this is how it is done century in the far east ..ususally the techinques are not showned to the puplic..they are only preserved and passed down within the family from generation to generation ..that is why this is called " lost art"

@@juniorpineda4151 pretty sure people been making gold jewelry for a few thousand years now, Central and South American cultures seemed to be very good at it, Romans, Greek, Egyptians, shit they built all kinds of stuff without modern machinery.

So, that thing is wax!
To avoid collapsing the wrist-jewellery while it is been carved.
Then the whole thing is heat it up, wax inside melts and is drained through that hole.
Some commentators say that, that process is not shown in this video. I don't know about that or much about this craft and business.
So I'll just say that, to me that is a true craftsmanship skill!

@@lifegames2989 any hard hit could deform the piece. High Ductile metals, like gold, can be "easily" deformed. I'm not an expert, just what I know... Lol '^_^
