Yes and if you look for them several other songs were great but never got much airplay like Melanie. If you didn't have a strong record label behind you, and/or a great manager, you would wind up like a talented group like Poco, instead of a megastar group like the Eagles.@@waltersimmons946
This song brings me back to my childhood. I actually remember hearing this on the radio and loved it even back then. I was around 8 years old. Was this at the Capitol theatre in Passaic? Not far from where I grew up…. These guys were so talented and of course peters voice is awesome but listening to this video a 2nd time, the drummer was just out of his mind. Loved all his fills and how he improvised and made it his own during the song. I love the 70s music even disco and in some ways wish I was old enough to experience the city night life and wondered what studio 54 was like. I would imagine like the limelight… dancing, drugs and sex in the bathrooms… wild times I am sure 😊
that must've been a great concert.. when bands played without lights going crazy, or any form of computer technology aid.. just talent and a stage where everyone was well visibly lit.

I'm hearing synth strings and a synth melody at places but I see a keyboard player with just a Rhodes piano. Someone hiding back there or playing to prerecorded tape?
There are two keyboard players- the Rhodes guy in the white tshirt is visible a lot.. but there’s another guy.. with a beard.. playing to the right of the bold and the beautiful bass player guy. He must have stolen the camera guy’s girlfriend because he hardly gets any camera time whatsoever-but you can see his head and part of his rig from a camera that was stage left getting an occasional shot across the stage and kinda behind the musicians almost. Definitely no pre-recorded tape, @blueeyedsoulman 😀
Baby Come back.
I'm still here for Player. Thank goodness we can still listen to the old stuff now that the music has left the scene.
Without a doubt, the '70s had the best music!
I grew up in 70s the best yrs of my life.
100%
No auto tune, no nothing, just an amazing voice … wow
That would be VOICES, I think.👍
Mice’s ? Lol
The Best song ever!!!
It’s surprising to hear how great they are live and didn’t have many more hits as a band.
They sounded the exact same. They had so many great songs that weren’t recognized
@Tony Jenkins They had a second hit THIS TIME IM IN IT FOR LOVE #10 on Billboard in 1978.

Just a great tune the 70s were simply great!
Another Marvellous Masterpiece of the 70s.
Truly still beautiful - all these years on.🥰

Peter Beckett is so talented and good looking!!!
Sublime ... I love it.
También ésta es emblemática canción de los '70. Mil gracias. Bendiciones.
Excellent, Drummer is great
Wow they are super.
Drum performance live is far-stronger than on the studio recording.
Però..... dai..... un bel live
non lo avevo mai visto
BRAVI 👏👏
Great video!!! Great vocals and Musicians!
Buenas canciones inolvidables ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Peter Beckett. The most over looked-under rated talent in the music business. The guy is a phenom!!
Back when there were still real musicians around that didn't need autotune and computers to make them sound good.
Absolutley
Peter is still AMAZING!
amazing performance
Love this song!!
Still one of my favorite songs ❤❤❤
The official video of the band playing this song was spot on to capture how they jelled as a band live as now this video shows us. Wow!
70/80 BEST MUSIC
Año 78' Yo 20 años qué bien sonaba Player .Un joya. Teclados , bajo , un gran batería . voz y primera guitarra
One of these guys looked like Jim Morrison.
Real talent!
Player ❤
Otra obra de arte de esos años.
Surprised this doesn’t have more views, sounds spot on if not better than the original track 🤧
Real live music from back in the day!
Ridge Forrester on bass

Can we just pause for a sec and give credit to the drummer and/or the drum tech - the drums are tuned and sound phenomenal!!
They have tight live sound.
Love songs!!!! WHEW!!!
