Mine arrived today, after watching your video I decided this one is for me, set it up and really pleased with it. 🤗🤗
I have it's little brother. Very happy with it for the use I bought it for. It had one issue - a short time after its warranty expired it would not run. A bit of fault finding showed it was the upper door safety switch. Took the switch apart and discovered a loose contact. Quickly fixed - at least it was accessible.
Just received my Craft bandsaw, purchased following your review. Set up was easy as you say and achieved similar cut quality to yourself. Couple of things, on set up its easier to adjust the bottom guides before fitting the table. Secondly if you just want to make it easily movable, I’ve fitted 4 castors to the existing holes purchased from Amazon…. H&S brand swivel castors (two with brake) which have a M10 threaded stem. Holes in saw from have to be increased but easily done. Worked great and the saw is at a good height for me now as well.
Goos tip with the casters
another excellent little video Badger, great information for people looking for a small band saw.
Thank you
Great set up video fingers crossed Santa’s bringing mine soon
Great review, nicely put
Axminster are a good company, I live in Spain and I've had various tools sent to me including one of their pillar drills and a Bosch table saw! No damage, great service.
That’s good to know
Nice new tool! Looking forward to the review. Cheers.
Thank you
I have the smaller version of previous model bandsaw. Great saws and though I love the small one, i wish I had gone for the bigger one. One upgrade I did was to change out the standard fence for the upgraded one. Made a huge difference. Thanks for sharing
I've got the same machine and love it nearly had a year now. Can't fault axeminster they have been brilliant with me. Happy band sawing
Glad you like yours
Thanks for sharing this. Was just looking at this model and happy to see your setup video and initial comments!
Great video, I am setting up a new workshop and have looked at many reviews of bandsaws, you have helped me make the decision to purchase the Craft bandsaw, thank you 😊
Hope you like it
Congratulations on your new acquisition
Thank you
Nice saw Matt, Stay Safe and have a nice day !!! .
Thank you
Another great video. I bought the same Axminster saw a few months ago and you have given me some pointers to improving it’s performance. Many thanks.
Thank you
Take time to set it up and It's a great bandsaw for a small workshop. Big step up from a cheaper saw.
I bought the same saw last year, no problems yet and really impressed. I fitted locking castors to the base instead of the rubber feet, much cheaper than a mobile base but very effective. Great review Matt, could have saved me a fair bit of time at the Harrogate wood show last year!
That’s a very good idea
Hi Martin, I was thinking of going the same route with castors. Do they sit quite rigid when locked? Could you link me somehow to what you used? would be much appreciated.
@@sam_millen I used 4 braked rubber castors, Toolstation part number 45177, £4.44 each. I've had no problem with how well they lock the saw down, typically I only lock 2, but having 4 gives options. I've got a fairly smooth workshop floor so the 50mm diameter wheels have no issue rolling but you could go larger if that's a concern. It looks like I used the original feet bolts to attach them so there is still the option to level each corner if required.
@@Martin-hy5ye Excellent, thanks for the info. I'll grab those and do the same.
@@Martin-hy5ye Did they not come with the thread and bolt to attach to the base? The listing on Toolstation doesn't show a thread or bolt at all. Which bolt/thread did you use. Cheers.
Great video matt thank you
Looks really well made, best of luck with it Matt, cheers for the video
Thank you
Hi Matt, good luck with the new 'toy', keep safe and well.
Thank you. You too
Nice bit of kit. 👍
Thanks. It seems great
It looks a well made machine, I like the cast iron table, the table tilting mechanism is nice and large and is substantially made for this
size of bandsaw. Good fence set up as well, it cut those this strips easy. Nice upgrade Matt, looking forward to seeing it used. Tony
Thank you Tony
Стол чугун, это прекрастно! Хороший инструмент.
Pefect timing for a watch on my lunch break. Looks a pretty well thought out machine that...except for the base which still looked a bit wobbly despite you taking care putting it together. Easy fix though. Good one Matt.
I think I will make a new base as I like to use every bit of space
Congrats. Looks like a great saw.
Thank you
Hi Matt I’m looking forward to your verdict in 4 weeks as I’m looking at buying a new bandsaw perfect timing thank you and as always great video 👍
Thank you. I will let you know how I get on
Badger Workshop cheers Matt
I have one of these and it was great for a few weeks and i have spent a whole day setting it up, but veers all over the place now, still on original lade so will try a new one and see if that helps, when it cuts true its a great little machine
I hope a new blade helps
I have this saw and absolutely love it its so good only had a few issues with that are really tiny
I am enjoying using mine
Looks like a decent bit of kit Matt. 😊
Yes I’m very impressed so far
Nice bit of kit, I think it has better features than my Axminster Trade model.
That’s a shame. There look good saws
@@Badgerworkshop It's been a great saw, I can't really complain. It's a few years old now so I guess the features are part of the newer models. I suspect the prices have gone up a lot since as well though.
Good review, nice saw
Thank you
Hey there .. Thanks for this very in depth set up video. This is defo one of the best videos I've seen so far on putting one of these larger power tools together. I'm glad I came across it.
I have a question if ur ok with answering it my friend. I clicked on the link but it says "SORRY - THIS PRODUCT IS CURRENTLY UNAVailable".. Not ur fault I know but it's a real shame bcos now I cannot find out the price of this brilliant little bandsaw and I really want to get one next year at the earliest. I badly need one so my questions go as follows if u have the time to drop an answer or 2 for me..
Q1. How much is this cracking AX CRAFT Bandsaw?
Q2. What table saw did u buy and was it an Axminster as well?? Do u have a video for that one??
Really enjoyed this video anyways. Keep this brilliant content coming. I love to hear real ppl speaking about the build/reviews of their power tools. I hate these videos where it flies by at a thousand miles per hour to some dumbass music. Please excuse my bad language pal.
I cannot stand those videos so ur one was very refreshing bcos u actually explained what needed to be done to get it set up correctly. I thank u for that my friend.
I have only just found ur channel this morning but I have sub'd and liked this video and I will share this on my TWITTER as well my friend.
Take it easy and best of luck bro..
I've just bought the smaller bandsaw. Quickly set it up but haven't used it yet. Next task is to make a table on wheels for it
I can do a ditto on this as I bought one a month ago! (No discount for me tho!!) One small problem (sorted easily by Axeminster) the measuring guide for the sliding fence was slightly out and the grub screws didn't solve (too far out) so they sent me a new self adhesive strip that I installed, sorted and not a major hassle.
Glad you got it sorted
thats, interesting as mine has the same issue, though to e fair I never use the measure
Nice video Matt, very useful - I have its bigger brother the 2305. Needs some fine tuning so your guidance was really beneficial.
I did a video on that mobile base and their craft planer - looking forward to my discount next time I walk in to Axminster (hint hint Axi 😉😂)
I planer looks a nice machine
New toy !!|!!| I see a happy boy !!!!!!!!|!!!
Very happy
New toys. Always exciting nomatter your age
Very true
Thanks alot for this video 👍
Thanks for watching
Hi Matt, I found you and this video totally by accident but so glad I did.
I picked up my 1950 yesterday to replace my really old DeWaldt 3501.
Today's job is to set it up.
Fantastic video and it's better than Axminster's own video of doing a set up.
I have subscribed and hit the bell.
I see you've had the bandsaw for just over 2 years now so can I ask what do you think of it?
Take care Matt.
Cheers, Huw
Not only Xmas but also your birthday, easter and Sint Nikolaas
I’m a very lucky boy
Good stuff Matt.
Tilting the table looks real easy.
Just out of interest how settling here up north.
Not bad but in lockdown agin now
Congratulations. Getting a discounted upgrade means you're doing things right. That saw looks great but I've always been prejudiced against thrust bearings oriented ninety degrees to the blade; yours is ceramic, which I've not seen before, and I wonder whether that mitigates the problems that come with bearings mounted the same way. With that design quibble out of the way I again want to say "keep up the good work." Peace.
Thank you
Nice review Matt 👊
Thank you
1:19 Because you know I'm all about that bass, that bass, that bass. No treble.
Do the ceramic blade guides spin like bearings and do you get sparks from them when in use the reason i ask is i watched a recent review and the saw had a lot of sparks coming from the blade have been looking at this saw and the new record Sabre 250 hard to decide on which one to buy.
The back one does but not the side ones. They do spark if the blade comes into contact
How is the table height? On video it looks a bit low to be comfortable (but I never used a band saw yet)
Nice review need to upgrade my bansaw
It’s looks great so far
Very nice
Thank you
Does anyone know the diameter of the holes in the bottom of the base (where the rubber feet slot in) ? - I'm looking to get some castors to replace the feet and need to know if the thread will fit. Cheers.
Hi Matt would you say this is better than the Record BS250 you own and reviewed? I’m looking to get a DIY bandsaw and have read good and bad reviews on the Craft.
Congratulations on your new addition, mate 👍🏾
You definitely get what you pay for.
Did you run the vacuum while making those cuts?
Seemed to be an excessive amount of sawdust on the table.
Thank you. I did
@@Badgerworkshop
wow, that seems like a lot of dust on the table top...
I have never used a bandsaw with great collection
You said to align the fence to the mitre slot, but then said you can adjust the fence to align it to the blade? which would then make it out of alignment with the mitre slot? ...I can't think why you would need the fence aligned to the mitre slot to begin with though?
You want the blade aligned with the mitre slot
Awesome vid Matt. You basically changed my mind about my next band saw. Handily I had been eyeing up the Record BS250 and your review being a direct comparison is timely. Question though where did you get the low level rolling trolley?

Morning Matt, I trust you are well.. The new Axminster catalogue arrived yesterday, and I'm keen to see your follow up video on the 1950B. Is it live now? When will it be uploaded?
Tomorrow
@@Badgerworkshop Fabulous Matt, thank you.
It still looks a bit wobbly. Is that because of the mobile base?
I needed to adjust the feet
Looks like Christmas has come early
I think it has
Hello Badger, new to here! I’m looking at this exact bandsaw for my knife handle business. Would you think it has the power to cut through canvas Mycarta resin blocks for handles? My current machine melts them with the cutting. Many thanks. My channel shows what I’m up to. Hope to hear back from you.
If it’s melting you might need a machine that runs slower. A metal cutting one or Axminster have one with an inverter so you can adjust the speed
@@Badgerworkshop thanks. Yes I see that one at £1600 - I’ll stick to melting!!
Oh no no no no no matt . ............. you've just got through your table saw addiction and off the wagon again now on bandsaws lololol looks decent matt shop looks tidy aswell
I do try and tidy up before filming
Hi, can you tell me what model that mobile base you are using is?. Cheers, Sam.
There is a link under the video
😊👍
Hi . Do you remember the package dimensions?
Yup, in 4 weeks you'll come back and with the entire shop walls and ceiling covered in new veneer... It went beyond expectations ;-p
Haha maybe
Bel engin !
Can I ask, do you have the details of the wheeled base? Great Video.

So, what are your thoughts on it, how does it compare to the Record Power BS250? I've been eyeing these two specifically and it's obviously incredibly good luck to find a RUclipsr who have used both! They're pretty similar in price here, this one is just like 50e more so I'm wondering whether it's worth it to spend extra.
I like it better but will say more after I have used it a wile
@@Badgerworkshop which one would you recommend now?
how much did they pay you. to advertise the axminster craft bandsaw ?.
Hi Matt, you should have backed off the blade guides before adjusting the blade tracking. At least the thrust bearings if not the others.
Pleased you’ve done this video as I’m about to pull the plug if buying this saw.
I’m pleased with it
Oh, hey, pro-tip: Even small brad nails will quite handily destroy a bandsaw blade, so try to avoid sawing into one. Don't ask me how I know.
I will avoid them
next video, Why I changed my bandsaw...lol... I've never owned a bandsaw, should I get one?
The bandsaw is my favourite tool
Are you going to sell your old bandsaw?
Yes I will
Good review, nice saw
