  • As part of the centenary of the last Cobb and Co coach service that ran in Australia in August 1924, Queensland Rail teamed up with the Australian Railway Historical Society to run a commemorative steam train to the small town of Yuleba to join in on the week long celebrations.
The train also ran a half day shuttle to Roma and return for locals to enjoy a steam train ride.
This video starts on the Friday afternoon with the steam locomotive being transferred to Toowoomba ahead of the commencement of the journey west.
On Saturday morning, the train which was adorned with a "Westlander" headboard celebrating the 70th Birthday of the "Westlander" service steamed out of the Historic Toowoomba Railway Station and travelled out on the Western Line, stopping at Dalby and Chinchilla along the way before arriving into the small town of Miles for the first overnight stop.
Early the the next morning the train steamed further west before arriving into Yuleba, where a large crowd was waiting. The train then continued its westward trek before arriving into Roma where the locomotive was turned around for its return journey.

@Confuze4874 If only it had run on a different weekend, then I would've filmed it. Oh well, next time.

@@Confuze4874the shuttle two shuttles (which were the main event) had about 65% more pax than the Brookstead trip. The 70 doing the three day trip were just to offer something more for those who wanted to.
