Keynote Address by Michael Manley, Leader of P.N.P. Jamaica
Part 2
Eloquence at it’s peak. The best leader ever to grace the Caribbean.
Wrong! This man experimented with a political orientation foreign to the people and ruined a once prosperous country..his ideology was misconceived and crippling..he singlehandedly destroyed Jamaica’s economy and forced capital and brain flight..
@@raggaguru3432 he built the country up to what it was and then America tore it down
Mi sah i told that to someone. The best ever for true
Undoubtedly.
Even those who vigorously opposed him,now believed that his policies were not detrimental to the Jamaican people but to extricate them out of abject poverty and illiteracy. He was a champion for the poor. Rest in power great one.
This man learnt many lessons along his political journey, but he only wanted what was best for the people of Jamaica and the oppressed people of the world. A Legend for all times.
Indeed!
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but the important thing is what are the facts ?
We need less politicians and more intellectuals! This man has fast become a hero of mine.
The most Hon Michael gorgeous Manley.the best prime minister of jamaica he was a down to earth man.very sincere and allways lobbing for the poor people.rip my prime minister
One of the great orator of our time. Intellectual agility and charisma resided in the man.
Absolutely.
May his soul rest in peace
This man did want a better Jamaica
Classic Manley and a valuable item in the archives that is relevant to 21st century realities.

I agreed with your comment. Could not be more accurate.
This is Greatness at its peak, I don’t really think we understand who this man was to us all ❤
Man was born for this Look how he spoke and it just flows
So true.
He is the best PM and the best MP of Jamaica , I don't even say was because he still lives in our heart and also in the hearts of those who are not a grateful to him nor deceived by these upcoming politicians am so very sorry for theeae young generations who doesn't know our history don't even know where they are comming from OMG , young generations please go look up and read about our Rt Honourable Excellency Prime Minister Michael Joshua Manley other politicians if any dead should come back to life , it would be Mr Michael Manley ,words cannot explain all that he have done for us and our country of Jamaica , sleep onn God knows what's best for you he need you more than us God will never betray nor deceive you, and a word to Andrew holness, I don't even know if a so him last name spell, I guess you mean by all the Good that Michael Manley done for us for the country free education free health care alot of opportunities a d not to peep in USA back yard for depending on them and alot more words cannot explain it's also on RUclips even you young man andrew holness go check it out you ungrateful even if you don't know your history You must heard of the good things your prime minister done for us all for you to reach where you are positively, but on your negative side you know of a 100% you get that from seaga
To listen to Mr Michael Manley in 2019 and then listen to the current crop of politicians both in Jamaica and abroad it is quite obvious that true intellect, charisma and insight has indeed flown through the door.
Growing up in the seventies I cannot but remember the harsh days while we struggled for self reliance and pride in the building of our nation and being nurtured by this great man who was often rejected by the so called intellectuals of the day...I look back now in this day and age in awe and total admiration for the honorable Micheal Joshua Manley, the man who gave me the first real shot at a good education and who opened the door of opportunity for so many Jamaicans...rest in peace my friend..
Mr Lex I do not think he was stubborn, maybe a little overzealous in his quest to enforce and uphold our sovereignty, even to dispel of neocolonialism but not stubborn..
I had the great opportunity to actually sit and listen to Mr Manley in his latter years and in his time of ill health, we spent many evenings discussing what he termed then as his grave mistakes in believing that he could actually convince his people to become self sufficient without hanging on to the coattails of our more powerful capitalist neighbors ...ironically all my relatives are supporters of the JLP and so am I, needless to say I’m a better man for listening to him...communist.. he was not..proud he was..
Mr Lex I understand your point Mr Lex but as a child of the seventies and a student of one of the so called Cuban schools, well educated and skilled in many fields I can assure you that given the time and opportunity to uphold our sovereignty and self reliance, building our social programs and stabilizing our economy through production and skills training we would not now in 2019 be importing unskilled Chinese laborers, some of which I have garnered are convicts, here in Jamaica doing Chaka Chaka work..
Who would have dreamt that we would become slaves to the Chinese, the very same scenario faced by us in the seventies and eighties when the neocolonialist exerted ultimate control over our resources and in effect attempted to strip us of our self worth such as seen in Haiti..
As a business owner with properties along the strips now undergoing construction I can speak with full authority in saying that we could have done better and do remember Mr Lex, that I’m a Labourite so my utterances are really not partisan but based purely on my observations of current affairs and deliberate attempts by governments of both sides to undermine our intellect and deceive us...
Here Here!!!!
Amen!
Thats why I have a picture of him on the wall in my office. I took the opportunity he gave, to move me from Wackle& Daub to live in a house of which he would be proud.
@@buildindian8169 What a vision , it's a pity great man also die will always b remember Right Hon Mr Micheal Manley
LiverMore Thompson ANC despite the utterances of the naysayers and neocolonialists who are still actively campaigning, I dare say he was one of the greatest leaders ever to speak on the international podium of anti oppression and he is indeed upheld in the highest regards amongst many young leaders including our present Prime Minister.
This man revolutionized Jamaica and caused the dispossessed to be empowered and have hope in building the country.
Visionary before his time, a part of my Jamaican education for my children.
His Excellency was a political savant & servant leader.
He is profoundly intelligent & majestic in presence. He is the greatest Prime Minister Jamaica 🇯🇲 has had . Michael loved his country & people honorably.
May his grand vision for Jamaica continue to unfold & may the principles by which he served & governed continue to inspire, teach & impact globally.
We need more of this politics and political leaders in Jamaica.
This man worked very hard for the people of this country and the country on a whole..
I really loved this man and his policies..
May his sweet, loving, and honest soul RIP with God's angels..
A very practical and succinct way of assessment of the Jamaican and more so the Caribbean perspective.
Mr Manley was the person who stood up for my father when they wanted to fire him for been a part of the trade union fighting for the rights of workers.
He came and made his contribution to not only his country but this world. It's great that his legacy has been recorded and can researched by those interested. Most of us are self serving and will ask. What can I get out of t.something. this man has made a mark many of us can only dream of. What a legacy he left? A real trail blazer not only in his tie, but for all time.
The greatest Prime Minister Jamaica will ever have. Charisma and eloquence.
That’s all he possessed charisma..he failed economically and foolishly scared investors and the brain trust of the country with his embrace of communism
The world needs more, Michael Joshua 👨 Manley one of the best. #1
insights worth consideration today as they were then...
RIP comrade Leader. You OpenTable our eyes in 1972
Very interesting and honest comments on populism by Mr. Manley.
Its so sad that both Michael Manley and Bob Marley, two great Jamaicans succumbed to cancer way before their time.......facts is sometimes stranger than fiction.....RIP great souls.....
Never bow.,. Salute you sir....

this Man was a genius the best pm of Jamaica. he was betrayed like Garvey
He was no genius just a high class conman
@@neilnelmar8007 the same conman that provided all of the public systems that we still have today. What has any other Jamaican politician contributed Jamaica since?

His policies were ruinous
@@neilnelmar8007 I can see what has led to us being controlled by today's politicians we adopt a partisan position to justify every situation which leaves most of us blind and I can see that you are one of them #
the policies that world leaders are looking to now is the same that Michael Manley was preaching from the 70s
Self reliance
Eat what we grow
Grow what we eat
We are still Borrowing from the I M F to feed our people, we are still Borrowing from the Chinese to have proper infrastructure and we still can't run our own country without being supervised by the UK and the U S A
Come on @ Neil remove the veil from your eyes we are 5 decades older and 50 years backwards because the people have failed to make our leaders from both sides of the house be accountable to us we are the ones who employ them. .
@@neilnelmar8007 I would like you to do some more research to educate yourself some more about politics Neil the first thing you should do is Google..this

Leaford Barnett I imagine some people can one view the CIA as USA thing and cannot or is not aware of the role they played in the destruction of poor developing countries during the Cold War and they are still fully active in destroying Africa and the Middle East today...
He is the best
The man !
Me love my leder Michael manley the man himself ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Look at the man and listening to his speech
By this time he ditched the bush jacket - and began to "cry uncle". His aspirations were noble. He really cared about his ppl. That however is not enough. America has real power and they brought him to his knees and in the process destroyed the country.
Very sad; but true.
Agree, America send the great spy Edward Seaga...to derail the plan.
