thank you thank you for this . . . I started to learn this song years in the mid 80s . . . but my life was chaotic, playing in punk bands and living in San Francisco and my hometown of Petaluma simultaneously....I had a good guitar teacher but was distracted and lost the tablature. Over the years I had taken bits of the song I tried to remember and fused it with The Ventures and Link Wray riffs, so it's excellent to have clarity on the actual guitar work now, and the little riffs at the end of the song you showed are the most memorable ones I remember as the song fades to a close, so that was a little bonus . . . great job

Your channel is my music powerhouse. Everything you go through is exactly what I have been hearing since I was kid and now at my 30's, recently learning electric guitar, is what I have been looking for.. the stooges, the smiths... thanks for making my free time better! Cheers from Rio, Brazil. Daniel. PS: could you try Stooges - Penetration? Riff is easy but the magic behind is the right tone and the killer licks. This is an underestimated song but according to Johnny Marr and Anthony Bourdain this is the best stooges song. Also, Iggy says that he decided to onboard James Williamson after hearing him playing this riff back in 1971! Haha

Wouldn't it be easier to play the E bar chord as E-open A-2nd fret, D-2nd fret, G-1st fret, B-open, E-open,E-2nd, E-open, B-open? That first bar chord seems to be a tough one for me to play clean and be able to jump back to .

Really like this lesson, have always wanted to learn this song, but I find that first chord all but impossible to finger and get a decent sound out of, particularly on acoustic. I confess I'm playing a cheat's version using a kind of Em/F#, muting the G string and hammering the F# note on the top E.
